You videos on knee replacements are some of the best I have seen online. I have two complete hip replacements, a partial knee replacement and I just had three surgeries from the end of March to the end of August to lengthen my right femur because the hip replacement I had almost three years ago resulted in my left leg being over three centimeters longer than my right. Due to the discrepancy in leg length it blew out that partial knee replacement. Now in four months I have to have a complete knee replacement on my left knees. But hey, at least my legs are the same length now😅

My knee replacement is 7 weeks out now. My biggest problem has been (right leg) the whole inner calf from knee through the foot has had numbing pain, hard to sleep, pretty much 24/7. PA said to rub various cloth materials along it, and massage it. I have noticed a slight change the past week and a half, and HOPE it’s going to heal. It’s been pretty excrutiating dealing with i t. I’ve also used various pain creams. Warm water on a cloth has helped, all temporary though. The past week, it seems to off and on be slightly easier to sleep at night, I just hope it goes away and heals.

My replacement is 4 weeks out and my biggest problem is the hypersensitivity from the knee down through my ankle, and my calf is the worst pain all the way down it. I’ve iced, exercised, massaged it. I have a lot of trouble sleeping. It’s been painful to touch it, but sometimes, not bad enough that I can’t massage it, and was told to desensitize the calf by rubbing different textures along it. It’s got me down, hoping it will get better. I’ve seen the PA, who hasn’t been the greatest help, he kind of shrugs off it being a big problem. Sigh

First I just want to say thank you for what you do, you are doing us a great service. Second, I have a question: it's been 10 days since I had an arthroscopic surgery with a partial minesectomy and chondroplasty and I'm still having pain, soreness and swelling on the sites of the incisions. Moreover, im feeling a tingling/numbing sensation at the medial incision site when I run my fingers downwards and apply the slightest bit of pressure alongside the Sartorius (mid-way, downward motion towards the knee). Lastly, I'm still having to use a cane to walk and I'm limping. Is this indicative of something wrong with the nerve? Thank you.

What about sciatic nerve pain? I've had an issue with a nagging pain in my lower back, in my hip and buttock.

Q: Could an ACL replacement with patellar tendon affect the Anserinus? I know I have lots of scar tissue. Lots of arthritis with bone on bone and Ortho says it's time to do replacement but I'm trying to avoid. Do you recommend the massage you suggested to help relieve the nerve pain? My gastrock and quads are tight. Post Achilles surgery 2 yrs ago, a year later I had gastrock release surgery. All this has happened on the right side. Now 2 yrs later, I recently tore my left Achilles! Now I'm working on gluts after starting to follow you? Please send any other links you feel would be helpful. Thxs!

Yes most definitely once your knee replacement has healed. The scar needs to be closed and healed for massage. But the quad area on a completely healed knee is perfectly find.
