For those who want a similar experience for Angel's Landing (which now requires a permit, and they limit it to some 800 people per day) you can stop at Scout Lookout, which gives great views of the Canyon without the extreme risk of going all the way to the summit (which the hardest part of Angel's Landing is what is known as the "spine"). Scout Lookout is about 80% of the way up, and is where the chain link fence starts. Another great hike that gives you a great view of the CAnyon that is not anywhere near as dangerous is the Canyon Overlook Trail (it also takes less time, but parking by the trail heat is tricky because it fills very quickly and you have to get there early to get a spot).

The Haiku Stairs in O’ahu, otherwise known as “The Staircase to Heaven of Hawaii” to the US Naval radio station! Not the most dangerous but definitely would be worth mentioning, both the legal way (Moanalua Valley ridge trail) and illegal way (Haiku staircase). They are removing the staircase soon 🥺

The Huashan plank trail is an offshoot of the main trail, you don't have to go on it to get to the top. Thrillseekers love it though, but everyone is securely clamped onto a cable. What amazes me is that in the past people carted MARBLE up the almost vertical trails and built temples up there!

I was on the Camino del Rey with my then wife about thirty years ago. The 'bridge' that you see at 19:20 in the film was already without railings but with holes. Although we were almost at the end we went back because the wind was so strong in the gorge that we were afraid of being blown off the bridge. Although we turned around, this tour was very worthwhile optically. Two days after we were there, a woman was blown off this bridge into the deep gorge below. Even if the whole scenery is something unforgettable, here's my tip : Explore this path via youtube, but stay at home on the sofa it's healthier.

Was on this trail in April of 2022 and it is now a busy tourist destination and perfectly safe with old and young traveling along it. There are no missing sections. It is not even remotely dangerous since they added all the fenced in boardwalks. But don’t go if you don’t like heights.

18:11 I'm from that region and I walked "el caminito del rey" when I was a kid. Definitely they were other times because it didn't have any place to grab yourself and it was very very dangerous and we did it anyways (I was 10 years old maybe...), but nowadays is opened FOR EVERYONE! The views are still the same, but the new path can be walked just fine if you can normally walk. They give you the helmet, just in case some rocks falls on you, but that's about it. My mother has walked it and she was 75 at the time. So you can guess how difficult is to do it nowadays. Now I'm wondering how many lies this channel tells in these videos 😂😂 Please, come and visit. It's very safe and amazing! If the winds are too strong, they just cancel the walks on that day, but it's kind of rare.

I absolutely love nature- but safely! The last two hikes were beyond insanity. 🤯. So many unfit and unprepared hikers. They could not only injure/kill themselves, but cause the same to another hiker. The mother with her baby in her arms? Beyond belief! The selfie/ photo taking was astonishingly naive. Risking your life for an Instagram post. Madness.....

Corsica's GR20 should probably get a mention... tbh a number of these trails are pretty pedestrian. Hiking trails are not typically dangerous - providing you're surefooted, have a decent head for heights, and in reasonable shape (i.e. fit and healthy), even the relatively inexperienced could cope just fine with a number of these outings. Plus, "candid camera" isn't always candid.

The rest of the Mist Trail's routing to Half Dome was omitted. At Nevada's top, you're definitely lulled into false security as you soon come to the long flats of West Little Yosemite Valley that lasts about a mile, then a stretch of MANY mildly strenuous yet safe and forested hairpins up a morainal deposit that's never too far from HD's backside. That ends up on a mostly flat yet broad knife-edge ridge plateau that is still relatively safe . . . until the trail RADICALLY changes at the base of HD's Sub-Dome. From there on out, it's VERTIGO CITY. SD's highly uneven stairs seem to have gradients of 100%+; the individual steps are often a foot or more tall; and, covering almost impossibly tight and narrow hairpins--MANY of those, with drop-offs obviously greater than 100% off of the trail proper. If NOT for those stairs, you'd obviously need to be a technical climber. You think your anxiety attack/vertigo is over, once you've crossed that little summit?? NO WAY!! You drop down the yawning saddle to the cables taking you up the Main Dome, and your anxiety has just pegged, GONE OFF THE SCALE!! The only way to salvage your mental and emotional state, until summiting Main Dome, is to believe with ALL OF YOUR WILL and nerve, that these cables, and the 2X6 planks at the stanchion bases are actually safe, which they truly are. Otherwise, panic may overtake you and with potentially lethal results, as you get off the track and sail off into merciless infinity. The Dome's summit is mostly a rolling gentle granite plain, with only about 7 bush-like pines & junipers. Do not go towards the edge overhanging the great Southwestern VERTICAL face. That bit of merciless infinity, is nearly a mile's worth of unbroken drop into the Valley proper. You're well advised to SLOWLY crawl on your belly, if you think you can handle the highly sickening sensation!! When you see stone staircases on Yosemite trails, think of Cirith Ungol's stairs, from "The Lord of the Rings"

El Caminito del Rey is not what it used to be. Look for videos of the original trail, it will blow your mind. I walked a short section of the trail some 40 years ago and it scared the hell out of me. In order to get to the starting point of the trail you had to walk through a railway tunnel which I luckily managed to exit before being hit by an express train. It was definitely not for the faint-hearted.

Your video of the "Camp Muir Trail / snowfield" was nowhere near the Muir Snowfield -- this was mostly shot Northwest of Little Tahoma, the sister peak near Rainier. The hike from Paradise up to Pebble Creek is actually straightforward as is the transition to the Snowfield. The actual hike up the snowfield is a straight shot with very little danger, other than rapid weather changes. The trip down from Camp Muir to Paradise can be done in about an hour given glissading and fast-hiking the trails.

I am guessing you don’t! You just become a Buddhist monk and stay there until you die… It’s a one-way road, apparently! 😂😢😮😂😂

I'm afraid I'd have to disagree about Angels' Landing or Mist Trail being particularly dangerous.

El caminito del Rey was open a couple of years ago after a brand new wooden platform was built atop the original trail. It's so much so that it has in a way lost its original magic (and danger, of course) and it is a completely safe tourist attraction. Perhaps too much so.

Really true! I’ve been there last month and, right now, it’s a super easy and safe trail.

Mt Washington is really not very dangerous. Hiked it many many times since my early teens and never ever once had an issue.. But the wind on top is crazy for sure

How arrogant do you have to be to assume something isn't dangerous just because you've never had issues?
@jsalas5400
@jsalas5400 Год назад
@@samueltilly8528 I didn't say it was dangerous....I said it wasn't VERY dangerous...the trails arent steep, they are well maintained. There are always rangers on basically every part of the mountain...not to mention the road and coag trail. There are signs everywhere. Places to camp everywhere. And base to top it's 'only' about 5 miles which makes getting to someone very straightforward as long as they don't go off trail, which even then. There are tons on the mountain....oh an those 180ish deaths they mentioned in the vid, is out of 250,000 that visit the mountain each year.....so give or take over 3 million people have visited the mountain in some capacity (def higher than that) and less than 200 people have died. It's about equivalent to COVID. The percentage is so low it's not even funny.

@@jsalas5400 I think the reason why he's got it listed so high is if you try to hike it during the winter or a storm, you're going to be out of luck. But you're right; on the ideal weather condition days, there's nothing too out of the ordinary like a massive drop off or steep scrambles.
@jsalas5400
@jsalas5400 Год назад
@@SR71_Blackbird while that is true. During winter if the weather is severe they won't let you hike past the tree line and often force you to hike the auto road instead of the trails.
