10. The Heart of Eternity ($16 million)
The stone that was made into the heart of Eternity Diamond was found at the world’s largest supplier of blue diamonds, the South African Premier Diamond Mine. Blue diamonds are incredibly rare with, on average, only one being found every year, and this one was an amazing find. The rough stone was 777 carats when it was dug up, and the owners waited until they had the perfect design idea before they started cutting it. The result was The Millenium Blue Diamonds- a series of heart, pear drop and oval shaped diamonds of which the Heart Of Eternity is the largest.
In recent years it has been on tour at various exhibitions, including at the Millennium exhibition in London in 2000, followed by the Smithsonian museum. It was reportedly bought in 2012 by Floyd Mayweather to give to his fiancée, but no details of the selling price were ever revealed. The $16 million price tag is an estimate based on its size and color, but the finished piece could be worth far more when you consider what a rare piece it is.
9. The Moussaieff Red Diamond ($20 million)
Diamonds come in many colors, but red ones are particularly rare. According to the Cape Town Diamond Museum there have only been up to 30 true red diamonds ever found, with most of them being less than half a carat. A farmer in Brazil found the rough stone that was to become the Moussaieff Red Diamond in the 90’s. At a weight of 13.90 carats it immediately became the center of attention.
The William Goldberg Diamond Corporation from New York then bought it, and decided to cut it into a triangular brilliant cut. This process would mean losing 8.79 carats, but the resulting cranberry colored 5.11 carat gem is simply stunning. It was originally named the Red Shield, but was renamed by the Moussaieff Jewelers when they purchased it for about $8 million at the turn of the century. This diamond has regularly been to exhibitions, being shown alongside other ones in the Smithsonian. Were it to be sold, it would be expected to cost at least $20 million.
8. The Perfect Pink ($23 million)
When it sold for $23 million in 2010, the Perfect Pink Diamond was the most expensive jewel that had ever been sold in Asia. It weighs 14.23 carats, is graded as fancy intense pink, and is set in a rose and white gold ring with rectangular shaped diamonds on either side. Pure Pink diamonds of more than 10 carats are very unusual, with only 18 examples having gone to auction in the past 244 years; none of which was classified as intense pink at the time of sale. This makes the Perfect Pink a truly unique piece, and explains why it sold for ten million dollars more than had been expected.
7. The Wittelsbach Diamond ($23.4 million)
The first records of the Wittelsbach Diamond come from back in the 17th century when it was sold to Louis XIV of France. It has a rare blue color, and weighs 35.56 carats. The stone has a royal history, having been passed down through families since the 1600’s. It went from France, to Spain, and over to Germany, where it accompanied the German King Louis III to his burial place in 1921.
At some point in the 30’s it was sold to raise money for the German government, and from here things get mysterious. No one seemed to know who had bought it, and it somehow got replaced with a piece of blue glas in the museum. Rumors of the actual diamond changing hands were rife in the following decades, until 1962 when it reappeared at a jewelery store in Belgium.
It was sold in 2008 for $23.4 million and, to the dismay of diamond historians, the new owner decided that it should be recut, since it had originally been done in the early 1600’s. The resulting stone, now 21.06 carats, meant that both the color and quality were improved, and the estimated price sky-rocketed.

This planet where we are guests, is full of precious jewels, but the most precious is water. Diamonds and precious gems, even if they have great value, do not make us live, while the value of water is priceless, without water we would be destined to die. So we leave his treasures underground ... true wealth beyond water is the soul that does not need to shine with diamonds, but to respect the mother earth, without creating build tunnels to extract them and workers who risk life and treated like slaves. !!! 😞🌎❤️

Koh-i-noor (mountain of light), it seems, was sold as one of "Golconda" diamonds (Gol`conda or shepherd hill) is a fort near Hyderabad city & was the kingdom's capital before it got shifted to Hyderabad). These diamonds were mined for thousands of years (probably now exhausted) on both the banks of River Krishna in Andhra Pradesh. The villages ParitAla & Kolluru, near Vijayawada city, get mention as mine sites. All diamonds mined before 1800, were from India.

You could get a brilliant gem out of a common quartz if it's clear enough and it's cut right. There is no reason for these rocks to be more expensive than other rocks, other than some people saying they should be expensive. Meanwhile, the people who dug up these rocks were/are probably impoverished and never saw a dime of the selling price

This notion is all man perpetuated and drilled into by the minds of humanity through media. Reading about their origins, they were all found within about 50 miles of each other in southeast India. The Orlov was stolen by a French soldier and today is in the Kremlin Museum in Moscow. The Hope diamond was purchased by a French merchant traveling in India. How whoever sold it to him obtained it is unknown. Today it is in the U.S. Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. The Kohinoor diamond was stolen by an invading Mogul army and taken to Delhi, and then to Agra. Then it was taken by the Shah of Iran to Persia. Invading British forces took it from him. It is now with the other crown jewels in the Tower of London. Weights: Hope: 46 carats Orlov: 186 carats Kohinoor: 106 carats

Mind blown! I had no idea that diamonds have gone up in value so much over the years. I remember seeing the Hope Diamond in NYC where Liz Taylor allowed the Metropolitan Museum (sic?) to put it on display. Magnificent specimen, truly. But now there is a diamond worth a billion dollars - really? These gems are so valuable countries wage over them and no one person is safe to wear them in public. Sometimes things can be too valuable.

Fascinating! No wonder they are the most sought after gemstones in the world. Not only fascinated by their beauty, brilliance and price but also the story behind those precious stones. How and where they are found. And the story of those who possessed those jewels. I'm beginning to believe the old people say about them, that having them, is not a good luck. Something evil will happen. No wonder that there are so many people going nuts just to find even a smallest, single piece of it. I think they radiates some kind of power or chakra just like the infinity stones in the movies. 😊Great video tho! Beautiful!!!!! 😍😍😍😍

Africa is one of the biggest continents on the planet. There is so much underpopulated and unused land and this is well documented. The west must stop dictating prices that they'll pay for raw produce from Africa, it's just robbing them. The west must pay the going rates for natural resources used in making computer components and other luxuries that the west desire. People should pay for digging up these precious rocks that have been traded and gifted across the world as far back as King Solomon's times. we have historic pictures of African priests wearing colored precious stones on breasts plates as they were taken away during the slave trade. they were special plates only worn by priests of the Ashanti people in Ghana. They new the significance and value of the things taken from the their soil . There is so much natural food for all in Africa. But many of the countries are in the midst of a religious political war .... and that's where the problem lies. Money and religion initially stirred up by outside forces. Africa the land mass is RICH.!!!! from north to south... its rich. And if only they were permitted to form the united states of Africa the world would not know the giant land mass as you see it now, poor without direction and allegedly dependent on the west. The west stopped this continent joining forces to form the united pan African state!!

Kohimoor belongs to india. It was not actually gifted, it was forcefully taken by britishers when they used to rule in India They came as traders but with the passage of time they divided and ruled over India. India used to have 50% of the world trade share but they trained our economy and now it is like 8% or even less! It’s wrong they have been taking valuables from India and people think that India is not a civilized country. For those who think so, well India had world class University’s in which people all around the world would come to study, ‘0’ was discovered in India. The scale or ruler which we use was discovered in India, buttons were discovered in India, the shampoo which we use was discovered in India, plastic surgery was discovered in India. I can keep going on for ever accept that the diamond belongs to India 🇮🇳.

First it wasn't the British that came as traders, it was the East India Company which was an English stock company back then. Also as back then us Scottish had our own fights with the English for our independence back then. Next: 0 was first used in Ancient Egyptian by 1770bc (India 458 AD)Again plastic surgery's first documented use, was in a transcript of an Ancient Egyptian medical text, one of the oldest known surgical treatises, dated to the Old Kingdom from 3000 to 2500 BC. Buttons were used as decoration in India.... first used for fastening or closing clothes in Germany in the 13th century. And also plenty of big things that are used today were invented in the uk, so get over it. Also if your own government is saying it was given and not stolen. -The Solicitor General of India had made the announcement before the Supreme Court of India due to public interest litigation by a campaign group. ]He said "It was given voluntarily by Ranjit Singh to the British as compensation for help in the Sikh wars-. Also if you don't know your history... the jewel belonged to Shuja Shah Durrani ruler of Afghanistan before Ranjit Singh. Ranjit Singh insisted upon the gem being given to him in return for his hospitality, and he took possession of it in 1813.

@@Mys482 in the early days there is a thing called conquest.... The winner takes it all.... And nobody truly owns any land to be precise....our origin...we all travel and spread from Africa, the birth place of homo sapiens.... Actually the far east asians are the first to travel to india but they didn't settled there but they travelled east.... In the old times if you can't defend your land then you sure don't fit to call it your own.... Even so the many indian kings has massacre for conquest sake like ashoka, the rajput and so on.... Nobody's is righteous in this world.... don't blame so much on the brits.... The indian kings does the same....conquest my friend conquest
