Danni, I know exactly what you mean about not understanding why you’re not done with the decluttering. I am a minimalist, not fanatic by any means, but cozy. Sweetie, you own too many kitchen items, in other words, I see way too many casserole dishes for example. Just keep what you absolutely use regularly, and be honest with yourself. I promise you, you will be surprised at the excess you’re keeping if you do this. 😊. I hope you know that I don’t mean to criticize, because I think you are such a sweet girl. I’ve professionally organized in the past, and that is the “key” to it all. Love your channel!❤

One of the best things I’ve ever done for myself and home was hire a professional organizer/declutter team to help me go through every single room of my house. It’s been a year and it’s still decluttered. Best money I ever spent.

Maybe put the pots, pans and appliances in the lower shelves. All the canned goods, box stuff etc on the upper shelves? Easier I think.

that "unknown" pan is an egg poacher. Each cup holds an egg. There are several items I still have that are only used a few times a year. When we redid our basement, we purchased a cabinet and that holds all the items we use/need and want but dont use often enough to take up valuable space in the kitchen. That includes electric frying pan, electric roaster, ice cream machine etc

Danni…I am convinced that social media is one of the main causes of depression. I watch your videos because you DONT have the completely white house with empty countertops…as I don’t either. My house is 110% lived in and we eat so many meals and go on so many fun getaways together. I’ve realized the more I get off of social media, the happier I am (I know it’s your job) but maybe limit who you watch….find people who’s homes you can relate to. Who don’t have the what’s considered an “aesthetic minimal home.” I’ve found that this helps me so I hope it helps you as well…I keep trying to limit myself from RU-vid more & more. I think I’m going to declutter who I watch 😂 I’ve deleted all social media (except youtube❤) for the past few years and it’s helped me so much. (Again, I know it’s your job but maybe decluttering some people out would help) Much love!! I absolutely love your videos because they’re raw & real.

The metal packs an egg poacher. I don’t know if you’re interested in suggestions, however here are mine: 1) put the snacks in a lower cabinet or the tall pantry so the kids can get them easier; 2) try turning the white shelf above the snack bins across the bottom two and you could possibly fit another bin; 3) have an extra shelf added to your pasta/rice/cereal cabinet to keep overflow products; 4) drinks could go in the tall pantry on the bottom shelves. You’re doing a great job. Now I should go do mine. Lol 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also, get an oven mat for the bottom of your oven. It catches a lot of the drips and messes and can be washed and put back.

I cleaned my oven today. I used Dawn and baking soda. I used the razor scraper on the bottom where the black spots were. Worked great.

This video really resonated with me, especially today. Had my kitchen redone and it looks beautiful. My problem was putting everything back, trying to figure out where everything went, and making it Pretty. The picture perfect kitchen. I decluttered before the work started and I find I have to declutter more. Realized I’m not the picture perfect person, with the picture perfect kitchen, and I’ve decided I’m good with that. Good enough is fine. Like you were saying, I was comparing myself and my home to all the RU-vid channels, I got caught up in hype. This is why I love your channel. You are relatable and real. Danni a little hack i learned, take your flour, confectioners sugar and brown sugar all in gallon ziploc bags each marking expiration dates on the bags. Take air out of bags store flattened in freezer! No more making room for all that in the pantry shelves. I have very few cabinets and im telling you this works! Also keep baking powder, baking soda, panko in freezer as well. Youre doing a good job on the kitchen!

Hey girl, your doing an amazing job with decluttering and organizing. I know the kitchen is a big issue. I have things i want to declutter too. You also mentioned about all the water thermos you have and you touched on Ian maybe having them in his car. I have an idea on my what would work. Where in the house does Ian spend his time at or where in the house does he keep his stuff for work? Any work related things that he needs to have, make a designated area for just work stuff. Clothes, boots, lunch bags and so forth. That way its not all spread out and in one spot. You can use bins to keep them maintained. Or maybe make a designated place in his car/vehicle. My husband is a mobile mechanic, and he keeps most of his things in the back of his car in the trunck area. It just helps him keep track that way ge doesn't forget anything. I hate cleaning my oven too. I have not done it in a while. Ill probably try to get to it in the fall. That is one chore i I don't like doing in the kitchen.

Hey there! That mystery pan looks like a fancy egg poacher. Newsflash my mom had one and the eggs stuck no matter what she did! You can let that go!

Look at you! Dressed up, looking cute AND doing a collab. Y'all are killing it! Sweet, you heard me talking to you through the screen. "Take those bowls out. Put the food up there. Add risers." I know getting rid of the ranch jars was a big decision for you! Always remember, pretty shouldn't be the goal. Functional should be the goal. First order of retrievability should be a goal. The kitchen is a food tool shop. Weird idea- what if you took the door off the tall "pantry" by the fridge? If the door is the problem, just get rid of it. Change out the shelf liner and turn it into a display. Put your "pretty" snack containers there on the lower shelves for easy access and the cans then move to the upper cabinets by the window. If you want a little pretty, put it where it can be seen and save the storage space FOR storage. I'm looking forward to the new series. You're doing a great job!!!

The lazy Susan was the cabinet for me that I struggled with for organization until I found triangle shaped organizers on Amazon that fit lazy susans and now we use it as top is snacks for the kids and bottom is cracker, chips, cookies, etc. Game changer!

You know what is funny? The thing I like most about you and your videos is that you are “a weird, ridiculous, odd hot mess.” I relate to that…that is me! Watching your videos makes me feel “ok”. Yet I do the same thing. I compare myself to others spaces and feel like I don’t measure up. I need to stop that and embrace my true self and all the crazy.

Growing up I was always compared to my brother who is a year older than me, he did it this way or that way why can’t you be more like your brother.. I think that it rubbed me in the wrong way that now I do it to myself. I do try to remember that I am an individual and I’m not my brother. I gravitate to your channel because of the way you are! Please know that you are in the same arena as those you think are better than you. Keep loving yourself and know that others do too!!

I watch your videos because they’re real and satisfying. Hoarding behavior runs heavy in my family and I definitely got some of that. Almost anything that has been gifted to me, things from my childhood, even old T-shirts from high school I have trouble parting with. I get emotionally attached to things so easily and I always think I might need or want something, so I decide to keep stuff. Your videos give me the motivation to declutter and be real with myself when I do. Just recently purged some stuff, including gifts (and I don’t feel guilty because of something you said in a previous video - they won’t know it’s gone, and even if they do they won’t care because I didn’t find joy in it). Having less junk crowding my surroundings is what really makes me feel better. ❤❤ been watching for years. Go to channel for motivation.

Hi Danni! The dish cloths, "everyone" here in Sweden use them. About themlasting for 6 months, they ccan last soooo much longer even with loads of use. If they get smelly or icky you can either boil them or put them in the dishwasher or washingmachine. They might shrink and look different but they will work the same. Either use them withjust cold or luke warm water or with warm water and a tiny drop or dish soap. When you´re done with it for the moment rince it with cold water. We have them in mixed colours like yours, packets of just blue, just pink aso and with seasonal patterns and colours. Alot of people use one color for kitchen , one for ordinary cleaning, one color for bathroom and one for cleaning up after pets. It´s for not spreading germs. There is some that can be composted if you don´t have those, they shuld be sorted as plastic. Why do you get rid of your microfiber cloths after 4-6 months? Rince thhem cold after every "light" use and clean them regulary in the washer (in a "guppy bag", to not release micro plastic in the drains) and they will last for years and years. Absolutely no need to bin them.

Love Swedish dishcloths. Kitchens can be difficult to organize for me but easier after decluttering.

Hi Danni! It you’d like to try a good degreaser, go to auto zone or other car place and ask if them for “Purple Power” degreaser. It is unbelievable- not kidding. I became addicted to this stuff for using on so many things. You will see immediate results at how much grime gets removed. You might want to wear gloves though, to protect your hands. I’d try a small area first. It’s a spray but the refill bottles are big.

put oven racks and extractor filters in the dish-washer, a lot less scrubbing. xx

Hi Danni, came over from Shannon’s channel. You might find it better to put your bowls and small appliances in the corner cabinet with the lazy Susan. You could move your cans to where you had the pasta and flour ( I’m guessing). Those larger items that you don’t get into often can go in your “pantry cabinet”. Just some thoughts.

The stainless steel pan you should try to sell. I have one. It was part of a set of pots and pans that cost 1200.00 the brand of mine is lifetime.

You can also put the Swedish dish cloths in the dishwasher. I run mine a few times a week, any time it gets a bit gross from more than just a quick counter wipe down. I came from Shannon's vid. This will be a great series.

Have you ever tried adding more shelves to your cabinets? There seems to be lost space in some of them that could be used. For the really deep pantry shelves, you could put everything into a container that can be slid out to see into for the back items.

This is so motivating you always motivate me Lol! I do like containers to store food, Wal-Mart now has a container set from Home Edit, I watched them on Netflix a few years ago. I'm 71 and I dont care what others do better I do the best I can! Lol! My husband is always taking my silver ware out side and losing it how how!! I feel like a nag I always lose my cool about it😣 I had knee replacement surgery and now getting back to where I can do things I pulled my refrigerator and stove out to clean how gross was it under my refrigerator.😝 I'm so glad a self-cleaning oven of course I have to clean the racks, I've had my stove 19 years and it still looks good.

I'm thrilled that the both you and Shannon are collabing - you're both generous, loving, positive woman who I respect and have enjoyed watching for years. I'm also thrilled because I've been doing my kitchen deep clean, also. I've been doing it over a week, because the kitchen is one of the hardest most time-consuming rooms, I think. So many cupboards - walls that could do with a wipe down - appliances - the fridge and oven can wear out a body on their own. These big rooms can break a person 😊

Sorry Dani, I do not agree with you. You are NOT a hot mess. You are extremely likable and relatable; someone we wish we were close friends with or lived next door to. Once again, you did a great job. BTW, since your panty door doesn't open all the way, have you thought about taking the door off and putting baskets on each shelf. Might look really cute, especially since you have an outlet in there and could put a cute little lamp in there. Just my two cents. Have a great weekend!

If you would purchase more shelves for your cabinets,it may help for you to have more space just by putting them closet together. I noticed they are spaced so far apart.

Advice from an old woman who always compared - we all have different circumstances - finances-family size - even spouses- my husband does not care one whit about a beautiful house - he wants comfort and land and no mortgage which we achieved - it took me forever to just be comfortable and content - comparing is a waste of precious time- all the pretty things doesn’t make you happy - eventually you downsize and just wanna be content- that being said I kept the pretty gifts- curio cabinet from hubby -china also from hubby- but I’m content and that matters- I do clean a lot it’s my coping skill

I find that decanting into containers that hold 1 or 2 full packages of something the most useful. Then you actually consolidate rather than having 2 containers for one package. For example you split one pack of noodles into 3 containers. They occupy more space and also you have empty containers before refill. Good choice switching to the other containers!!

Also get oven liners any drips just drop onto the liner, pull the liner out and wash, dry and put back.. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. 😁

Good job! Yes the esthetic is important.. I have to have it nice and beautiful in my home. It hasn´t to be expensive or luxury, but I have to feel it cosy and homey. BTW - everyone in Sweden (almost) use Wettex cloths in the kitchen 🙂 When they begins to smell bad, you can wash them. Either boil them up with some dish soap & water on the stove or in the laundry and then you canuse them again and again. Some use the micro fiber cloths for cleaning.

I love my Swedish dish cloths- if they start to smell or really dirty I pop in the dishwasher. My mom has that pan with the holes. It’s for poaching eggs. I had to ask her what it was. Great job on the kitchen!

Omg Danni, that pan that your mom gave you that you don’t know what is for, looks like my “Lifetime” liquid core. If it is, that’s a very expensive pan ($1000.00 when I bought mine many years ago). Check if it says Lifetime on it. I 💯 love mine and they are very expensive. Besides food that turns out amazing, you can make cakes in it in 5 minutes, fry chicken without oil, etc. It’s just amazing if that’s what it is.

Danni, I thought your kitchen spring clean was great. It looks so much more organised. The mystery kitchen pan you were confused about is an egg coddler and poacher, which can also be used to make little individual set egg custards. If you like regularly eating eggs for breakfast or lunch then look up how to use the pan online (they are easy to use), if not declutter it and make more room for other things. I want to add that oven liners are a must have to help keep the bottom of your oven clean. Make sure you don’t buy the cheap ones, buy good quality thick ones as they last far longer. I use Swedish cloths all the time, mine last on average eight months with regular use, but wash them regularly to keep them in good condition. I just leave a batch of them to soak in the sink with a dishwasher tablet overnight and then rise them out in the morning and air dry them until lunchtime.
