I feel good about where we are right now!

Love this! I agree that the most important part of any team will typically be the fronts, and I get why you would put Sanders/ Petty at number 1. This is my thinking when I look at our team moving forward. To your point, OL is important, but in our scheme we can get by without having bluechip guys across the board. If you look at our young talent there, OT might be the deepest on the whole team next year. IOL will be deep when this class gets on campus, and we will have the best OLs Heupel has had here by a good margin for the next couple seasons without adding Sanders or Petty. The same could be said about most positions on this team, but there are 3 that I could see not being deep enough in a couple of years. First is LBs. We have some good young talent for a couple years, but if we don't add at least 1 in this class then we will have to hit the portal to fill voids after 2026. Second is WRs. We will lose at least 4 players after this year. So getting a couple of good WRs to go along with the young talent we have is critical in this class. Last for me is safety. We haven't had a bluechip guy starting for us back there in Heupel's tenure, and we are probably losing all the vets after this year. IMO this is the single most important position on a defense because they erase everybody else's mistakes. So I put Shaedy as #1 because he can play LB or S at a high level. Being able to help us in 2 positions of need moving forward makes him the most valuable. I'm not saying I don't want Sanders or Petty because it would be great to add a 5 star OL or two, but that's really a luxury for the way our roster is built moving forward. The positions that we actually NEED right now are LB, Safety, and WR.

If we get Sanders as things stand right now with On3, we have 2 five stars. The thing about the rankings is the criteria to break top 5 changes every year based on how team's classes look. I think we would need everyone we expect, plus a bluechip surprise to get in the top 5 this season.

@bluechipbreakdown i forgot they dropped McIntyre. We have some serious talent in this class. I wonder if one of our top 50 4 stars ends up getting classed as a 5 star later. Or like you said, maybe we land a surprise 5 star, like maybe a WR or something like that

We broke down some of his plays for the members, and he isn't a good enough athlete to start at safety in the SEC. We just did a big overhaul in the secondary to become more athletic, and if we don't play the better athletes, what was the point? We have 5-6 players that I can see are more capable of starting at that position. I think the biggest issue here is TIm Banks/Willie Martinez choosing to play vets because they understand what to do more over the better talent. It looks like they aren't doing a good job of teaching the players, and imo, a change might need to be made there.

Well I hope that's not true bout not teaching or developing the young guys ...
