Yoko Ono definitely deserves her own spot. The reason she wasn't mentioned more is most likely because there are probably less than 200 people left alive that have ever heard her "sing?".

Serj from SOAD actually has some extremely clear vocals. Even the rapid-fire section early in Chop Suey can be understood when isolated, and outside of that section of the song everything else is enunciated immaculately

I'm sure you've never heard a metal vocalist as fast as him 😂 He's really impressive! He's actually a good extreme metal vocalist, but he's too fast, too hard to understand.

Actually, Cocteau Twins are intentionally incomprehensible - they originate from Scotland and many of their lyrics are written either in a rare scottish dialect or are just nonsense. They play dream pop, which, similarly to ambient, makes atmosphere and the sound of the vocals alone more important than the message of the song. EDIT The same case with My Bloody Valentine.

I was surprised that the Bee Gees weren't here, I remember when I got into Stayin' Alive I had to Google the lyrics-and I still can't remember how the second verse goes. And Night Fever isn't that decipherable either, the only lyrics I know are the opening ones and the chorus. Though I'm happy Sting is here, you should hear him in Wrapped Around Your Finger, its a great song but he's hard to decipher, just like a majority of his other Police songs. This is an interesting video concept, Steve. However, watching this made me wanna see you react to (almost any song by) the Melvins. I once watched an interview with the lead singer where he once said that basically the lyrics don't really hold any water for him in the songwriting process. It's more about pronunciation for him, as well as honoring the spirit of the song.

Only 3 mins of video left & I'm very surprised that more extreme metal didn't make the list besides Corpse, like Lorna Shore or any of the other Death metal/core bands that u have to look up lyrics for to get to kno each song. Although to my experience the worst to understand of them ALL would be Will Ramos's LS bcuz of Wills vocal range but also bcuz of how & where they arrange the lyrics in the song like in "Of The Abyss's" chorus, the timing of some of Wills Lyrical delivery. Idk if I'm saying it right, but it definitely makes it harder to follow along, sometimes even WHILE you are reading the lyrics! & I'm a good fast reader. But isn't it a strange sensation to go from not being able to understand a word of a song (before reading the lyrics) & then after you read the lyrics... you kind of can't believe you ever couldn't understand what they are saying? I've had that experience with many songs across all genres. Guess it just goes to show that it is NOT ONLY w metal songs that ppl can't understand the lyrics... like a lot of "non metal heads" refer to when expressing why they never got into metal.😉 which I must say is very unfortunate!😁

I am so happy to hear that I'm not the only person that ignores lyrics! I only listen to the music, I listen to each instrument closely and visualize what they are playing. My wife is a vocalist so she is the opposite and is all about them lyrics and it drives her crazy that I can't bring myself to care even a little about lyrics.
