Doesn't matter if you black, white, Jewish, Christian, Muslim, this guy is a legend and should be an inspiration to everyone. He is not forcing religion down people's throat for those of you who take it as such, he is giving his advise to people of his faith.
This interview is arguably one of the most iconic and legendary moments in sports history. Almost everybody had counted Ali out, claiming he didn't stand a chance against Foreman. Ali was nearly 10 years older than Foreman in this fight. Ali over-powered, out-smarted, and out boxed Foreman throughout the entire fight. Pound for pound Ali is the greatest boxer to ever walk the face of this earth.
@@narendrathepudinarendrathe5402The Christian version of it is after Holyfield TKOd Tyson and spoke with Ferdie Pacheco (ironically Ali's doctor) and he refused to stop giving praise to Jesus no matter how hard they tried to make him stop. But this is the best one of em all.
+Robert Creighton Ok I'll admit, that was funny. But your first comment is incredibly deplorable. If you sincerely believe what you said, I'm NOT saying you can't. Alls I ask of you is to keep that negative stuff to yourself. No one wants to hear it. I was also genuine in saying that you should seek help. Such anger and hatred is upsetting. It's proven that attitudes like that can cause stress and strain, leading to an earlier than average death. You have your beliefs and I have mine. What we BOTH should have is maturity. You don't have to respect or even tolerate my religion or beliefs--but what you DO need to do, to be a decent person and a contributing member to society--is have a mature outlook on life. I shouldn't be telling you this. I'm not going to dismiss you as a troll until I see your reply, whatever it may be. Not that I expect you to care, but. Anyways, I'm out. I'm going to go watch The Godfather.
I think I understand this a bit better now than I did when I was young. Ali beat Liston to be the champ. Then his title was taken and he was then forced to stop boxing for 3 and a half years because of the draft. Anyone out of pro sport, even back then, for 3 and a half years should be finished. But he then fought Frazier, who was in his prime, whilst he had all those years of nothing. Hard to prove you're the greatest when you've done nothing for so long. When he finally got to fight Big George, he'd had 10 years of politics, religion, and legal cases. I understand now that it must of taken a great toll. To be the "greatest" yet not have a chance to prove it. For him, to finally get in the ring with the biggest, baddest of them all, to find that you're the overwhelming underdog, all the pressure, must have been terrible. Then he won. The legend ,if not already there, was born. And to George Foreman - that fight could never have been as great without him there. It could only be a great fight if Ali fought a great fighter. And he did - and he won.
Mick Rise I'm glad you gave foreman his credit. It's sad to see how people stopped caring about him after this fight. He was a real champion and fought the greatest, but Ali's fame overshadowed his and he became forgotten.
Muhammad ali sticks to his believes even though he knows that he's gonna lose it all meanwhile lebron and the NBA is still kissing china's ass. No other athelete today can be compared to this man.
At 3:35 when he mentions that his title was taken from him unjustly, it’s like he relived the emotions and it bursted through him instantly. The way he startled the reporter making him look back in shock and the passion in his words after and his tone of voice gave me goosebumps. Rest in Jannah champ, truly was moulded from something special 🐐🐝
@@janielrin4471 When he refused to get drafted into the Vietnam due to his religious and personal beliefs. He was stripped of all his titles and banned from boxing, they took 3 years of his prime but he ultimately beat the government in the Supreme Court.
@@janielrin4471 But the truly ironic thing was how a big chunk of America hated him for it but the Vietnam ultimately waged on for too long and became very unpopular amongst the people. It was only then people started to admire and respect his stance towards the war from early, truly the greatest 🐐
Pura verdade. Ele sempre fez questão de louvar sua cidade natal. Um lição para todos nos. Não existe cidade melhor que onde Deus nos escolheu para nascer.
@@quann06 Tell'em bro. I was at the funeral inside the Yum Center. When a former United States president comes to your funeral, you know you're somebody. 👍
+Asad Gulzar your wrong listen again..all of you bow, all my critics crawl, all of you suckers who write the ring magazine, boxing illustrated, all of you suckers bow, because the stage was set, you made him great, you made him a hard puncher, you made him a bad joe louis but I want everybody from this moment on.. to recognize me as the scholar of boxing! aslm rip..the greatest..
No it was because noI played to the tunes of the black American people's and their pain.. he got caught in that crucial time for civil rights... noi reached across to even black Christians and gave them a religion like their own esp. Christianity but in a black man's suit and a black man's dialogue
Merciful Justice How about the brothers and sisters who joined the NOI in the 1980s and 90s? What did they get "caught in" and at "what crucial time?" Was it the crack epidemic that replaced the injustices of the 1950sand 1960s?
that's what I believe i meant that by it reached to others by giving them "a religion/way of life like their own esp. Christianity but in a black man's suit and a black man's dialogue" - perhaps to find or having found their elemental succour in the NOI ... But, they exploited the name "Islam" - which what I don't get. Islam has no connection with the central theme and message of the NOI.
George Foreman loves this man even though he was mad and he was pissed off and he was so humiliated by the defeat. Yes George Foreman was strong he beat up everybody but when comes to the brain and tactical moves, Muhammad Ali no doubt is the greatest of all times. And boxing is just a small fraction of his greatness. Muhammad Ali is a great speaker, philosopher, poet, a psychologist, a human activist, a freedom fighter, a generous giver, a comedian and a magician, a singer, an actor. Can you imagine a man with such talents exist today? None. He's the only one.
norizanmohd .A Godsend..messenger.healer leader..he will be back.wen god opens the gates to heavens war against the evik on earth..Alis gone home..see you soon brother..one more round... .i thank god..🎋♥️🎩
I am a Christian and I am a fan of the great Muhammad Ali. It is awesome how he speaks about God. He and I might not have the exact same faith, but God is great if all humas are with God none can defeet us I will declear that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Ali and all muslums wants talk abou how Alah make beattiful things on their life go for it. God bless you Muhammad. Assalam Alaykum =) AND ALI BOMAYE!!! YEAH!!
+krazyKenOh Just a personal question, do you read The Bible or do you just listen to what some preacher or pastor tells you? Paul is the main one who claimed "Jesus is Lord" while Jesus himself declared that he was sent by GOD and "I love the Father and do exactly as HE commands". For us (Muslims) there is no confusion and no formulaic doctrines saying Jesus is the Lord but not THE LORD or that he's three parts or two parts or whatever. The atheists are on the outside looking in and think "Every god says this and that", but we know, The LORD OUR GOD IS ONE and HE is neither man nor son of man. May Peace be upon you and Happy New Year to you and yours.
+krazyKenOh Sorry, "This is eternal life, to know THEE WHO ALONE are truly GOD and Jesus Christ whom thou has sent." JOHN 17:3" CASE CLOSED. There is no god but GOD and prayer is the one door that never closes.
To anyone doubting how American Ali was, just had to watch the last few seconds. He was so proud of his country and place of his birth. Rest in peace, Champ.
I am not Muslim but I love the way he said the fight was not the happiest moment of his life. It was when he found his faith. He did not hesitate on his answer. A sports victory was a little side show.
Everyone thought Ali was making the biggest mistake in his boxing career by laying on the ropes and letting Foreman pound away at him. Watching the fight I didn't think Ali could hold up to Foreman's punishment but Ali knew what he was doing and showed why he is the "GREATEST of ALL TIME". Ali was magical in the ring and magical in life. I'm from Lou.,Ky. and the city and the world gave Ali a magical send-off. Over 150,000 people lined the streets to watch Ali's funeral procession, not only did the City of Lou. love Muhammad Ali the whole World loved this great man.
I don't do religion, for a number of reasons. However I have a huge amount of respect for this man in the way that he used his faith to guide him through life. More than inspiring.
Today I came to watch this speech after a while. This time I did not get only chills running down my spine. This time I have couple of tears running down my face, rest in peace champion. Ali Bomaye !
What a man! Ma sha Allah. He just won one of the biggest fights of his career and he thanks God for that. God bless him he is amazing and beautiful inside and out!
say what you like man was blessed he knew it he admitted it God given talent he fought like a lion lived like a lion and died like one aswel all his organs failed but the heart kept pumping , says it all doesn't it ! a model muslim a model human ! my Duas are with you my brother , forever till we meet again insha allah
I was watching WAY OF THE DRAGON and when Bruce went into his "juking and jiving" footwork, I wondered if he thought of Ali when he developed Jeet Kune Do!
Truly the greatest of all time. I am truly saddened by this loss but I pray you're in a better place. You meant the world to a young black Muslim man growing up not having many role models. Allah yarhamma

Prophet peace be upon him, rest of the prophets and the sahabas ( prophets friends) is out rolemodels. Muhammed Ali is one of greatest, who fought for his beliefs and who prooved it too. May Allah grant him forgiveness and Jannah. Allahumma ameen
One of my all-time very videos! Even when faced with a seemingly unbeatable foe, his faith in ALLAH (Exalted Be His Name) carried him to victory! Even after he left the Nation of Islam, his faith in ALLAH never diminished. Very powerful and inspiring!
How is Ali doing now? Looks like he was struck down. "Pride cometh before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall".-King James Bible. Looks like Allah did not protect Ali from the wrath of an angry God. Look at him now. Led around like a baby.
Andy C ALLAH IS GOD and only Allah (Exalted Be His Name) decides on who should be humbled. You would know this if you believed the quote you cited. And remember, never gloat over anyone's misfortune because everyone has a sick day coming.
John Martin Well isn't Jesus the son of God so how is he God ridiculous Logic also you can't tell others they are going to hell because they don't worship the same god as you Christians like you make me sick.
He beat the most feared man of that time, he has the right to say what he wants. He has earned this time. He is not disrespectful, he has asked people to study and decide for yourself
The natural high, happiness, relief, hard work blood sweat and tears, the adrenaline, the euphoria!! So many emotions!! No1 would know how he felt in that moment cause it was a one off once in a thousand year event!!! Against all odds…. What a man!!! What a moment!!! What a win!!!
I saw him in a hotel lobby when he was training to fight George Foreman. He was the nicest and gentlest man to all he employees. I was a fan ever since then.
May Allah be pleased with your life's work. You were a faithful follower of your Leader and Teacher (The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad) until the day he departed the earth Feb 25, 1975. There will never be a Champion in Sports like you Brother Muhammad!!!
Foreman went into this fight a 3-1 favorite. In the weeks leading up to the fight Ali was planning on using his footwork and staying away from George. A couple weeks before the fight Foreman was cut in a sparring session and the fight was moved back 6 or 8 weeks. Both fighters were already in Zaire when this happened. Ali used the time to get to know the culture as opposed to Foreman who stayed mostly to himself rarely every being seen in public. As a result on fightnight the crowd was overwhelmingly pro Ali. Ali mentioned after the fight that he realized after a couple rounds that Foreman was a master at cutting off the ring and that he would tire himself out if he continued trying to dance and stay away from Foreman. At that point he went to the ropes. Ali took a lot of punishment in this fight and some of Foremans punches would have knocked anyone else out but Ali hung in and eventually tired George out. Lots of folks dont recall this but the fight took place in a small soccer stadium way after midnight local time.
+Anthony Porta Yep there was talk of that and also talk about Foreman feeling as though he was being forced to stay in Zaire while recovering from the cut. None of that was ever proved but it was talked about. Foreman was considered unbeatable and it was widely considered he would knock Ali out inside of 3 rounds .
If you ever get the chance Sports Illustrated story after that fight was classic. I think George Plimton did the story. Very few Americans saw the fight live on tv. The closed circuit showing was not anything like today's stuff.
I also love that towards the end of the speech he mentions his hometown Louisville, Kentucky and Joe Martin, the white policeman that was his very first boxing coach when he was a kid, so many years ago. What an amazing guy.
This is why he is my namesake. He was never afraid to speak his mind and never afraid of the powers that be. He showed tremendous amounts of inner strength and courage in the most turbulent time in our nation's history. He'll forever be the GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!!
Fear GOD, Believe in GOD, all of it is the same. Fear, Respect and Love all constitute worship. Unlike the hedonists we don't worship wine, sex and song nor do we feast on the flesh and blood of an innocent to win salvation, Faith in ALLAH (Exalted Be His Name) is sufficient for us!
No figure like the one of Muhammad Ali has left such an impact in the World of Sports. Ali was a man of his word, an example of excellence for generations to come.....
3:37 you can feel the pride mixed with frustration from the injustice that he faced and yet he managed to overcome obstacles and win against all odds! What a mentality what a champion!!! Keep on inspiring champ!!!!
Ali is one of my influences as both a boxer and a person, much love to everyone regardless of religion, race or creed, poor or rich cause we are all on this earth to perform great things-let your light shine peace ✌🏻☀️
What a beautiful beautiful soul. Inside out! That resolution and determination in his eyes. That firm but decent play of words. May the Creator Bless you with the highest ranks of the Paradise

An absolute one off. When in the face of such pessimism around him, everybody had him picked to lose, even his own entourage deep down believed it was the end. But this man was never defeated in his mind. Confidence like you cannot believe especially when nobody else has that confidence in you. A lesson for everyone
You can have power, speed and great foot work but if you're not prepared mentally before and throughout a bout, you've already lost. Muhammad Ali is the greatest boxer of all times.
