Another really fun way to utilize Briar's Malice, or my favorite way anyways, is pretty much the same thing you're doing but with a few differences. I run Lingering Blackvenom so my crits spread poison. The cool thing is if you throw a crit jav, the crit cleaves through the hoard, poising everything around the trajectory path that gets hit. OR, still running LB, you bring the Deepwood Staff instead. The primary fire of the Deepwood Staff is 5 thorns thrown out. If you ult, stack two crits, you can actually send out 10 crit projectiles, each crit thorn capable of proccing Hunter on its own. Super OP and a lot of fun to paint hoards with poison.
Wow I did not know that! I need do some research on the jav poisoning everyone it cleaves through. I love SOTT because there is so much you can get working together, Cheers!
@@prich0382 A group of poisoned enemies will die faster than a group of regular enemies. It's not the 3 points of DoT, it's the faster kills you provide to your entire team, as poisoned enemies take 12% more damage. Being able to cleave through a hoard with a crit jav, delivering poison to a surrounded ally so they can fight their way out, or poisoning an entire frontline allowing your GK to get kills faster is where the value is... but if you're focusing on the 3 damage, rather than a blanket of 12% increase to damage taken you're missing the forest for the trees.

You've earned a sub, this build is very solid and while not how i like to play sister (i like the staff and pure support/control) i've seen similar used to great effect on Cata. Definitely will be looking out for more content if this quality will be the norm. Tanglegrasp Thicket however amazing and i will not tolerate any disrespect (take it out on shitty elf players who spam that shit in corridors) its saved more than a few runs making room and peeling shit off people (and ledged more than a few Monk packs). Its also nice to split the trash from the elites with it, makes fighting them easier when theres no risk of pinkies poking you through a CW or SV. Blackvenom is great too, but both are valid imo. Ironbark however can get fucked.
Thanks mate! I agree the hedge can be used very effectively for control purposes and in the right hands can be invaluable. Also it's hilarious fun to constantly ledge mobs with it. As you said monks are a pertinent case study for sure. I have never understood Ironbark's use case. Perhaps it was intended to be paired with Incandescence so you fire off 3 hedges and completely lock down an area of the map? In practice though completely superseded in effectiveness by Tanglegrasp. @@kryptkick441 The idea is just area denial and blocking off angles of approach, and ive seen it used well in modded difficulties like C3DWONS when everyones in comms, but thats about it. Tangle just outperforms it 99% of the time in quickplay.
I don't know English very well, could you write how to play this character with these items what do you have? If I understand correctly (I throw a javelin if the opponent is far away, if there are a lot of monsters I hit with 2 swords? do I hit the javelin too? When to throw F roots? Regards
Still like the shoving hedge to save downed teammates, force enemies to funnel down one side of a hallway for a javelin multikill, and to block a gunner stream when I'm caught out in the open.
Hey so I just started the game. I'm having trouble deciding which to go with in terms of attributes. Why do people go power vs chaos instead of power vs armored. I only have 30 hours in the game.
Basically the main reason for the traits is to hit various ranged break points. For instance a Blightstormer is an unarmored special and its faction is Chaos. Adding 10% into Chaos might allow your ranged weapon to 1 shot body shot them while 10% into armoured would not. Most builds try to select weapon properties that maximize special killing as a priority. This is why you rarely see builds with properties such as power vs berserkers or power vs monsters.
Chaos is the faction, all "chaos" units will get 10% more damage. Combine with let's say "armoured" you gonna get 10% on chaos unit + another 10% on armoured chaos unit (20% total). You can have the same properti for skaven units but I think you cannot get both faction on the same item. Correct me guys if Im wrong with that but Im 99% sure. Chaos include Beastmen.
Another thing is Power vs Chaos applies to a lot more units though, the chaos plus the beastmen faction. Whereas the Power vs Skavens only apply to rats.
why don'0t use the lingering black venom? with crits you apply venom to everyone near the target, it's a combo, but i understand. And tanglegrasp sometimes saves you because push everyone and make non armor big guys on the ground, it trip them to get killed on the floor. But very nice build, i like it!
Lingering Black Venom is good for sure but Briar's Malice is a key talent for this build. Tanglegrasp is also good but as it affects player movement it's not as easy to spam
Why use Enhanced Power instead of Smiter? Wouldn't that significantly lessen melee DPS? Is there a ranged breakpoint you're attempting to reach with EP?
Smiter is severely overrated. When you look at what it actually does it's kind of shit. It's basically only useful on slow 1 shot weapons like the Executioner's Sword/Pickaxe/Coghammer. It only affects the first enemy hit in the swing and only on the first hit on that enemy. Every hit after the first hit receives no bonuses vs having no talent at all. Mainstay is a lot better for every other weapon if Assassin isn't available. EP affects all levels of stagger as well as ranged.
I see where you are coming from with that build. Looks fun to play. I would suggest on the trinket to get 30% stam regen. Combine with 30% bloc cost on necklace, it's essential at cataclysm IMO. For cata you may also want to add two stam on your weapon, on legend it's not necessary IMO. I don't get hit much often so i feel confident with no curse resist at legend but it's just me. The sad thing is that it will not get you a girlfriend ... 😂
If you are a good person you would just hand them the potion. I know shocker, you can press the right mouse button to hand someone an item. 9 times out of 10 they can do more with it than you can. Then you can run decanter on the off chance you have to purple/blue potion clutch.
im new to this game but isnt it a really big plothole that you only have 3 javelins....? like what happens when u run out and the next ammo bag is too far.

You don't need Enchanced Power for any breakpoints for Javeling wtf. All you need is 10/10 Skaven/Armor on Jav and on Charm. Like there are excel sheets with all precise breakpoints.
Although i consider sott rework unfair and watching this was like rubbing salt on a wound, this video was fun and enjoyable to watch, keep up the good content
So you have a Javelin that 1 hit body shots all specials and even the armored rats seem to go down null sweat. It applies a 25% debuff on the enemy causing them to take more dmg. But... they are already dead tho, right? The only survivors would be Chaos Warriors and Monsters. So it feels like a lot of overkill. With the guaranteed crits you should not need to take any crit% and can take more dmg vs something(or stacking crit power... i mean... thats a hated stat for everyone normally right? but comeon... you know you want to tho right?). In theory only ofc. Also Shallyas gift + you passive, how can you resist? :P
The buff from Hunter applies to all enemies (of an armour class) for 10 seconds not just the enemy you hit with the crit. So seeing you have 2 guaranteed crits that's reliably 10-20 seconds of hunter each hit of your ult. Pair that with 30 second cool down on ult and your potential downtime is only 10 seconds, the rest of the time you running an insane debuff!
A lot of unnecessary and difficult upkeep when it comes to doing any difficulty above cata. Twitch cata moves far too quickly and requires much of your ranged to be focused on vastly increased specials, maintaining hunter like this not only leaves you viable to get caught off guard but wastes your ult on generally pointless scenarios. A much more damage consistent build using Atharti's delight + sword/dag and barrage on deepwood staff allows you to still hit those damage margins much more easily with the added bleed and much better armor damage and Elf classes get enough crits anyway to maintain swift slaying. While fun, I think a lot of what's in this build is obsolete on much faster paced difficulty
you talk about it being broken but u still have the legend chaos wastes badge for kerillian but other than that the build is pretty broken but still not the best, but thats me pushing each career to their absolute limits.
I've played elf for 150+ hours in a row and can say that archer elf is stronger than sott comparing to damage if you want to go with spears. These two crits from ult are just not enough in a long fight, while archer ult under double arrow passive kills much more enemies with more damage.
Hunter is a ranged weapon trait that gives you 25% damage buff for a short time if you land a crit. It is very useful though because you can proc it via ranged and then it applies to melee also
