The words from this theme come from the Indian song in the language called Punjabi. They can be translated into: "Don't be proud of your money rich men, as it will never satisfy you". When you walk in the Knots and hear these words while passing by the Olgimsky's house, you begin to understand their meaning.
This theme consists of three pieces: the main one, the one that plays in the night and the one that plays during the plague.

Meh. It wouldn't fit with the newer graphics. The older-looking low-poly graphics gives off the kind of eerie and alien atmosphere. The more detailed a game gets, the less alien it'd feel. It still maintained some cruelty, though.

@@muffinman2546 it's not a case of the advancement of graphic, they simply changed the atmosphere in the Town a bit

Good morning specifically to the single Punjabi resident of the Town-on-Gorkhon who can always be heard throwing shade at the Olgimsky family, I love them.

Mongolian would be more fitting, but even though it's Indian, it still matches greatly.

I think the point is to be not fitting, but to be alien. The Steppe is a place that is not quite any one thing, idea, or culture - it's a little European, a little Turkish, a little Russian, a little Mongolian, a little traditional, a little avant-garde. It's populated by humans and sub-humans alike. It's industry is cattle, meat and leather, yet food is scarce and everyone is starving. The inability to pin down exactly what the Steppe even is in its essence makes the atmosphere unsettling and disturbing, and I think that is the point of adding a Punjabi song such as this one, to make it even more impossible to define Steppe culture, which can be unnerving when you're trying to understand a place you're in but find that you're unable to in a satisfactory way. Such a feeling eats away at you from the inside out.
