Otz's giga tier trapper brain is still there, it just goes dormant when hes not using it. He really never lost it.

thats what makes trapper so fun: Placing a trap that does nothing all game, but then, suddenly, everything comes together and your preparation turns a no kill to a 4k :)

And you get the added bonus of the survivor being embarrassed by stepping in a hook trap!

I feel like having a good game of Trapper these days is a bit like seeing a double rainbow: it took a ton of rain and clouds to get there, but once you get it, you just kinda bask in it.

I started to play trapped because of vids like these Otz and I gotta say, it can be tough but games like this are so so worth it. Sometimes it takes one slip up and suddenly you have a 3k-4k because someone gets trapped and everyone falls for the trap of altruism.

New build I've been trying with Trapper: bear oil + setting speed tools + I'm all ears. You hide behind tall loops and after you see which direction the survivor is going, you set a trap mid chase and herd them into it, gives them less time to react and change direction.

Otz was gifted with a beautiful voice. There's just something so nice about hearing it, hearing him narrate and explain strategies is amazing.

Being able to Dead Hard through traps is really silly. It makes so many spots worse simply because the survivor use Trappers power against him and it's not like that perk would get used any less if this was changed. It'd be like if a survivor DH while Nurse was blinking or Legion was in frenzy it'd immediately cause them to stop. (Watch them actually implement this).

Just don't cut the corner people. 17:21 Well, I could tell she had Tenacity from how fast she was moving so Unbreakable isn't that big of a surprise as well. Yeah, everyone who was talking about "Never running D.S. because it's useless now." were not using it for what it was meant to be used for, they were using it for a minute of invulnerability to do gens in the Killer's face. Four D.S. four Dead Hard is pretty much standard lobby at higher levels of play. Thanks for the video Otz.

this video unironically helped me win a match. the most satisfying trapper game is the match where every trap you place has great value at just the right time for you to win. and your video showing how trapping the top of basement can help catch survivors, that also helped. keep posting trapper videos otz, i enjoy them.

I went from playing dbd every day to once a month now because It’s just so silly that they keep releasing killers with 3-4 powers in their kit and we still have killers like trapper that need a desperate rework.

Another strategy i found about trapper is to put traps always inside loops windows instead of the outside part of them, even in shack, because often survs will be forced to change path more often than they normally would, meaning you gain advantage

The trick you explained in the beginning I did a few days ago in backwater swamp, as I had a hook inside a 3 gen. It was a slaughter, although my most effective trap was still at a pallet, the 3 of 4 around that hook kept getting folks. It's really fun

I had one match where pre-trapping a hook tile near one of the generators and then the killer shack (with basement) by one of the exit gates was what helped me turn a terrible match into a crazy 3-kill game in the end-collapse. pre-trapping hooks friggin WORKS and I wish I learned about it sooner.

Man videos like this remind me why I love otz. Not because of his skill but because of how genuinely excited he gets when he plays.

you could tell the jane had tenacity when she crawled all the way from one end of the shack to about 15 freedom units away out the other end of shack in the time it took you place the one trap in the basement. this could've helped you anticipate the unbreakable. Though in the end it all went well anyways, and to be fair I don't know how much anticipating the unbreakable would have done since you waited the soul guard anyways, maybe just made it less of a suprise.

Fucken had a great game as trapper today, started with 8, trapped shack, few places I thought survivors would path to get to loops if I approached from certain angles, and a few loops around a nice 3 gen. A trapper game is absolutely made in the end game, those final moments where it all just comes together, truly a joyous moment.

Whenever I play Trapper, every trap I place feels like a little baby that I'm encouraging to do his best. Like, "you go random snare I set up five minutes ago in the middle of the field!" I am always *so* happy to hear those jaws snap shut, even when they get disarmed, because hey. Now I know where a survivor's gonna be.

The snapping of a bear trap on a survivor is the most satisfying sound in dbd.

This strategy works for Hag too! Traps I set before the first chase, or after while losing complete contact with all survivors, have a far better success rate with me. Not necessarily traps near hooks, but traps in general. Plus, it's super satisfying if a survivor gets completely caught off guard by them.

Just recently started playing Trapper more and the frustration at around 3:24 is so real. I felt that. It's just sad, that the main face of the game is the absolute worst killer in it. Even Sadako has more going for her. It certainly is fun, when your traps work, but my god... Having to play 20 games just for the two or three where you have the clear upper hand, is just not worth it.

Curious thought Otz, what do you think of the trapper having an add-on or something that makes him able to press the ability button on an attack to use a trap instead. Destroying the trap and grabbing the survivor if it hits.

There is joy in placing a trap that for the most part no one steps on until that moment in the endgame, somehow, you end up chasing the survivor into said trap

Fun trapper tip if basement and a gen spawn in shack stick a trap on both doors and the inside of the window and you turn a 3 gen to a 2 and a half gen especially if you have honing stone because then they trap themselves in shack if they go after the gen

I love running iridescent stone on trapper it allows me to turn off my brain off because the traps reset automatically after 30 seconds so you can place super obvious traps and not care if it’s disarmed

Honestly decisive strike is going to remain the strongest perk in the game because A: you can't tell if they have it, and B: it directly punishes the killer for playing efficiently. Remember back when people wouldn't make saves right in your face because you could punish them for it by tunneling? ds happened, and it gave survivors a big incentive to unhook unsafely, but killers still had options to play around it. then borrowed time and unbreakable released, now you cant slug them, and you cant hook them, and if you ignore them to chase the rescuers as intended, they body block a pallet with their 12 seconds of bt. Even if you were nowhere near the hook they can sprint burst up to you mid chase and body block for free, either you wait out bt, and they drop pallet, or you hit them and they run the loop with ds. Honestly rework borrowed time to provide the endurance effect to the savior for the duration of the unhook animation and 4 seconds after completing a save for both players, disable it for 10 seconds after a survivor cancels a hook save interaction and boom, you can actually slug again.

With this technique, Agitation is now even more important. You can easily put someone on a hook you preemptively trapped. I might start playing Trapper now :V

The basement trap catches a lot of incompetent players I was in the basement hooked and I even saw the trap when it was down there cause I look around there’s so many survivors that don’t pay attention where they walk. 😂😂

Otz one thing I found out is if you have a trap on a pallet And if it's place somewhat in the middle,you can lounge through it,if you face sideways and you lounge and move sideways around the bottom or top side of the trap,you will be able to walk around it,please try it as it might help you when she dead harded past the trap Just position yourself in the bottom of the trap and lounge sideways,I didn't try it in a match but I found it while in practice with bots,if it doesn't work out at all then it might be something to do with mobile

I feel they need to buff trapper, either let him start with all traps (Not like the addon, let him pick them up) or be allowed to pick up every trap he comes across, another option would be to increase default cap on them to 4. That way he has more he can place. He should also be able to place them faster. Maybe even let him prep one and drop it while he's walking to place them more secretly. He's been a bottom tier killer for as long as I can remember, sometimes to the point people give him his own tier. I want him to be raised to at least a B tier killer and I'm sure many others do too, so some sort of good buff for him would be nice.
