Nice finds! I need that Cristina Aguilera Back to basics, just recently found out there are only 2 pressings that exist, original from 2006 with a beautiful 3LP set, and then a 2018 red colored 2LP. I hope we get a repressing eventually.

1:30 often times it is worth it to bank on a repress for video game soundtracks. I waited for the silent hill mondo pressings and I am glad I did. free shipping from mondo as well. I only bought 1 and 2 but I will probally buy 3 and 4.

I’ve never heard of The Method Actor & now I’m so intrigued as I adore Eva Cassidy!! I’m wondering if BFMV may wait until 2025 for a 20th anniversary reissue for their debut? I hope for your sake, you get a copy before then 😂

My grails for this year have been on my want list for a while: Neil Finn’s “Try Whistling This” (pressed on vinyl for the first time), Del Amitri’s “Twisted”, Seal’s S/T album, leavv’s “Mind Garden” and Mark Knoffler/Emmylou Harris “All the Roadrunning”. ❤

Smashing Pumpkins Pisces Iscariot Original Pressing that ACTUALLY plays NM (I've bought 3 copies online and everyone of them sounds like popcorn popping and was listed as NM sadly) 2. My Bloody Valentine Loveless UK Townhouse Og in NM playing condition 3. The Sun and the Moon by The Bravery 4. Friction, Baby by Better than Ezra OG pressing

congrats! the method actor cover is so pretty. last year i finally got Blond on vinyl, I'm still kind of amazed I ended up getting it, but now it looks like it's just going to be for sale on his page so a little less excited about it. this year I want to get psychopomp by japanese breakfast, it's not that rare but still don't want to pay over 60 when i can hopefully find a good new press at some point and get it for a lot cheaper.

Congratulations on acquiring all of your grails! I have a copy of a Danzig III bootleg on red vinyl, but it's only one LP, not the 2-LP version you got ahold of. Would love a better copy someday! I also have bootlegs of Danzig I and II, which are of decent quality, and will do until something official comes along. Someday I'll get ahold of 4p. Also, I agree with you that the Tears For Fears "Elemental" album is just as good as their first three. That album was in HEAVY rotation for me when it came out in the early 90s!

This video was a fantastic, heartwarming watch. Glad you got all your 2023 grails, Matt! Terri is just the greatest, isn't she? She actually gifted me one of MY grails this year :) I don't have a lot in my discogs wantlist and I don't set out to get a specific number of them each year like you, but this year was pretty great for me in terms of getting grails. Here's the list of the ones I got: Danele Luppi: An Italian Story - this is the one Terri sent me. It's basically a library music record, made with the cream of 70s Italian library music complosers and players. The Bees: These Were The Bees - a discogs purchase from Finland The Bees: Sunshine Hit Me - a very welcome reissue Cornershop: When I Was Born For The 7th Time - another discogs purchase, this time from Germany The Rapture: Echoes - reissued after being out of print for sooo long! Athlete: Vehicles And Animals - another welcome reissue And here are a few I'd still like to get: Brightblack Morning Light: Brightblack Morning Light Little Barrie: We Are Little Barrie Gorky's Zygotic Mynci: Barafundle Sean Lennon: Friendly Fire The Stills: Logic Will Break Your Heart Malajube: Labyrinthes Cornershop: Handcream For A Generation Beck: Midnite Vultures and The Information - c'mon, Beck. Reissue them already! I just don't want to buy them for hundreds of dollars Lemon Jelly: lemonjelly.ky and Lost Horizons - same. I'm hoping for reissues. I just can't pay hundreds for them. As for Ana Frango Életrico, I think we have a pretty good chance of Mr. Bongo reissuing Little Electric Chicken Heart and hopefully her first album, Mormaco Quiema, too. I'm basing this on the fact that before they issued her latest, they also started their Hidden Waters compilation of current Rio artists with her song Saudade (from LECH), plus they put out Bala Desejo's Sim Sim Sim. Let's hope they stay on this modern Brazilian train. (Hidden Waters also has a song by Dora Morelenbaum, plus she's also a member of Bala Desejo.)

Matt been looking for MIC for 5 years and here’s the problem: either you find a great copy that’s way too much or a bad copy that’s way too much. Meaning mint copies go for around $500 then you drop down to VG+ copies with different issues for 250-350.

congrats on the grails Matt!!!! People don’t usually get me records either. I love the NIN session. i had the cd in college - that version of Ringfinger is wacky ha ha - i love it. I think now that you have arexid store that you’ll be getting your grails. it make it no less exciting or heartwarming. I loved the stories. The grails I got last year were Midnite Vultures, Elemental, complete my Karp collection (PNW sludge metal legends - super rare all 3 records), Prince Douglas - Dub Roots and hard to find promo copy, and. a Japanese leasing with fully intact OBI and Robert Snith sticker sheet of The Cure’s Standing On A Beach

On Danzig the Counterfeit CD comp Misfits 7" Singles comp is way better than any of the official Misfits comps, so that tracks.Also technically Danzig 3 and 4 are counterfeits ( Bootlegs are live recordings). Both Bootlegs and Counterfeits go under Unauthorized, but if your gonna run a record store ...

I have the Danzig Lucifuge bootleg (“import”) and honestly for $20 I’m happy with it. Disc isn’t warped, spindle hole centered, and besides a couple pops/clicks, it sounds pretty damn good

I hate to do this to ya but I've actually A-B tested a Lucifuge bootleg to an OG and the OG blows it out of the water... so if you can find one for a decent price, you should go for it!

Nice. The Poison would be a great album to have, so I'm hoping for a repress on that one too. My top 7. 1. Oh Land - Oh Land (one day I'll find it a reasonable price, or just suck it up and pay $200) 2. Air Traffic - Fractured Life (this goes for wayyy too much now) 3. Ben Folds Five - Whatever And Amen (pretty much everything Ben Folds needs a repress) 4. Dream Theater - Metropolis Pt. 2 5. GTA V Boxset 6. Across The Universe Soundtrack 7. Dodie - You (although I'm pushing to have it repressed with her other EP Intertwined as well)

Wonderful video Matt. 7 for 7, what a year. I just starting playing Hades with my son after he became obsessed with the games Cult of the Lamb and Death’s Door. I should probably track down the vinyl of Hades. Is it still available?
