How fortunate that Mostly Autumn was able to move from the incredible Heather Findlay to the incredible Olivia Sparnenn. Both women are wonderful vocalists in their own right, making "who's better" comparisons irrelevant. Olivia's emotional power in this rendition is amazing ... release the tear ducts!
Had the pleasure of seeing Mostly Autumn play in Glasgow, wow absolutely amazing night. Was well worth getting caught in the heavy rain on way back to our hotel!
Olivia is a goddess. Her vocal performance at the Boerderij show is stunning (Sorry, I'm not missing Heather at all); however Olivia has outdone herself on MA's 2021 magnum opus, "Graveyard Star." It's glorious! Do yourself a big favour, and get your hands on... well... everything you can by Mostly Autumn. You'll be happy you complied with my sage counsel :)
Don't knock Heather Findlay - she was fantastic. But the band were lucky to find one of the few vocalists that could match her, and she was already associated with the band as a backing vocalist!
Unreal band,l first saw them on a Genesis Documentary DVD from 2004,it's an incredible watch, the band go thru the Genesis Albums they love,Bryan talks about the strengths of each album,Iain holds a keyboard on his lap and goes through the actual chords used by Banks on many songs and Heather is there too talking about her favourite Songs. If you get a chance, look out for this DVD to see the band circa 2004,a real gem from an INCREDIBLE Band.
I have seen them live twice. 2 days in a row at a small festival in the Netherlands, Heather was still lead singer, but Olivia did a few leads as well. My favourite song is Questioning Eyes, the live electric version: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_rDf0LKxIhg.html
