Valise originally from Macon, Georgia is a mother of five. She found herself struggling financially and heard about United Way of Greater Atlanta partner Community Restoration Project while she was driving an Uber customer. Prior to getting assistance, Valise says that "things were pretty rough. You can be a full-time working person but due to the cost of housing and living costs it’s difficult to pay all your bills."
Through the Kids Home program, our partner Community Restoration Project helped her apply to housing and increase her credit score. Life for her family now is much better and her son is back in his old school, playing basketball, and they live in a home ten houses down from their previous home.
