@@BelfastManUtdTherapythe very fact that we have such a complicated brain is absolute proof that out heavenly Father and creator exists. There are many things that can go wrong in our minds and bodies, but we are made whole thru the blood of Jesus.
@@nancy9478 i used to think that. but id only been brought up on the bible, talking about blood of jesus etc why would a loving god create life on a planet then make life dependent on killing other life for food. Ohhh, absolutely!!! I gladly take back ALL my petty, little issues!!! Geeezz!!! I cannot imagine losing 20+ YEARS of my memories ON TOP OF my eyesight!!! WOW!!! Ron is an AWESOME, AWESOME MAN AND, A SPECTACULAR HUSBAND AND, DAD!! He inspires me to be just like him!!! WOW!!! How AMAZING IS THAT???!!!!
It IS criminal that anyone in the US should have to pay such extortionate medical bills. I'm in the UK, I was born here. For most of us who live here, paying such high medical bills is unthinkable!! We go to a hospital or doctor and get treated under our NHS and it is all free at the point of delivery. It is paid for through taxes for everyone but no one pays anything other than their taxes here. If you wish to go private then you pay but otherwise no payment is required. My disabled daughter has had neuro surgery three times, followed by ICU care and many, many other procedures in her life...cost to us ...nothing..... every single day, I thank God for our NHS❤❤❤❤!!!

@@boggleboggle100I'm not sure it's accurate to say that medical expenses are free. The taxes are much higher, and those add up over the years. This is an alternative therapy that isn't covered by insurance.

You are so right Diane I have been feeling sorry for myself because my wife recently passed away - but this living nightmare these 2 wonderful people and 7 children have been though and they can still laugh!!!!!!!!! I do not think i could handle it, such grace like you said.

This story just broke my heart. I can’t imagine waking up blind, and no memory of most of my adult life, especially my husband and kids. @@texasgina tyvm me too every year for Thanksgiving I buy two hams one for me and my wife and then I donate the other one to a family in need at the salvation army it's a tradition my mom started and when she died in 2013 I made a promise to use to keep it going I help out any chance I can and I do it because that's how my mom raised me to do

This was fabulous, and Ron is nothing short of an absolute angel of a man!!! I hope this intense therapy helps her get her entire memory back. It would be horrible to lose so many memories of special moments with your family and children. Not sure what can be done about her eyesight exactly, but I hope eventually she gets that back as well. Thank you so very much Secret Santa for your kindness and compassion in bringing life changing, because it is just that if stephanie can get back all her treasured memories that has gone. To have to go through such major surgery to start with, but then to lose both sight and memory in one fell swoop, that is so sad. I find the American system of charging through the roof for surgeries and healthcare in general, that to me is a disgrace and am thankful for our NHS, no matter how broke it is. Surely having national health service that is there for all, not just for who has the most money to pay for it, it should be there for everyone. Yep, Cognitivefx is nearly $25K for the 2-week program and another similar 2-week program is $30K. Glad that they reached out to help her. I hope we can get an update at some point. I wish there was a way to recover her sight, too. The brain has a lot of plasticity. As adults, many of us have forgotten how to ride a bike, but can easily learn again thanks to that plasticity. The brain can rewire itself when parts are missing or damaged. There have been people who are literally missing part of their head and brain, like 1/4th of their brain. The brain can sometimes activate and rewire other parts for a different job than what they were originally doing when the damaged parts can no longer fulfill those parts. Here's hoping she can get her sight back. I don't know that much about a process like this.
I've watched this happen in a now friend in her early 20s/former student who was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor the night after her first day of second grade. She plowed through the first years of the rewiring process in a beautifully stubborn way, is now in college, and a very gifted artist.
Now, that's one heck of a Christmas present. And i'm so glad secret santa is giving it To her as a mom. I cannot imagine forgetting having your children. That has got to be an empty feeling and I wouldn't wish it on any Parent.😢

I never knew thst there was such a thing as cognitive therapy. I had a brain stroke in May 2018 & I lost 62.5 years of my life. Marriages, divorces, children's births & deaths, how to walk, talk & fold laundry, everything was gone. I just hit my 5 yr marker from not having another stroke. I'm doing well- I remember bits n pieces of my past. Now at the age of 68 & my reading & comprehension is about 5-6 years old. I still have cognitive delay & left brain injury. I was disabled before my 3rd stroke- which was the brain stroke. I thought that I was just going to have to deal with the many losses & things that I dont recall or remember. I dont drive since my 3rd stroke but its a lack of confidence according to my Doctors. I love seeing the videos about Secret Santa, keep up the Great Work. Love from SW, IL

Wow. It really is horrible how hard it is to gain access to such vital health treatments. This definitely sounds like something specialized. There are so many people out there in the US who cannot get the care they need because they cannot afford it. Thank you for giving them this.
