It's so refreshing to see style advice for us "mature" women, especially from a contemporary who doesn't try to turn us into something we're not. I just turned 60 and have been following you for a year or so, and I've rediscovered the strong lip color that you demonstrated so well - I gave it up in my late 30s because I felt it was aging me. Thanks! P. S. My mother wore only shades of red lipstick and she would apply it perfectly without a mirror, let alone liner!

Some years ago we had a triple wedding, two of our four kids and our silver wedding anniversary. I sewed my dress myself, a 1880 evening gown from heavy dark blue silk tafeta. Perfectly timed video as I’m a M of the G coming up in Nov. I can’t say enough about that inexpensive little hair scrunchie “friend”. You’re correct in that it looks better with lots of use. When it was new, I sprayed it lightly with dry shampoo to cut down on the synthetic shine. I’ve been using mine for over a year now and just give it a freshening up shake-shake and it’s good to go! You’ve given me confidence to use it on our special upcoming day, and now I’m looking for the perfect flower to clip on for this perfect style. Thank you KerryLou! 🌺

I have been binging quite a lot of your videos lately as I am going to attempt to do my own makeup for my step-daughter's wedding. It is down to just under 4 weeks time now, so lots of practice happening. I have my dress, my two pairs of shoes, a coat - (the wedding date is just 10 days into Spring here in Australia, and the city it is being held in can get quite cold), and my clutch all picked out. On that note do you have any tips to avoid panda eyes in the heat? I seem to have mascara and eye liner sliding down my face after a couple of hours, which it never normally does. Hi Helen, thanks so much for your well wishes! Panda eyes - yes I know them! I find that when I wear the Lashblast by Covergirl I do not get Panda eyes, but it is challenging to remove when you want to. I also avoid mascara on the lower lashes when it's hot out. Good luck! xx

Hi Linda, thanks for the sweet compliments, and for sharing with your friend! Yes, it can be tricky to get the right vibe - so many things to consider! I found it helpful to forget you're the mother of the bride or groom, and all that implies for the dress. Your friend should look for a dress that flatters her figure, is in her color palette, and is comfortable! and if it doesn't seem "fancy" enough, dress it up with accesories. Has she looked at Johnny Was? They have beautiful long flowy dresses perfect for the beach, also Farm Rio. Depends on her style. I wish her luck! xx

You are gorgeous. I'm not that good at makeup and as I've gotten older I wear very little on a daily basis. I'm one of the minority as I love powder. Bare Minerals is my go to as it's light and doesn't feel "wet". For my son's wedding I will need to have a professional do my makeup. My go-to professional has moved out of state so I went for a trial run at a local beauty spa and she did my makeup far too warm considering I have a cool complexion. Also, the moisturizer, foundation, and airbrushed foundation made my skin feel so heavy. I have more time to try to find someone else but it's expensive ($95) and frustrating.
