Kerry Lou you are just naturally beautiful at any age. I love watching your videos especially this one with all the tips you give. I like how you share all the product names you use with many being inexpensive and affordable. Your hair, makeup gown, shoes and jewelry all pulled together so perfectly! You are one put together lady! I am also 60+ and still have super long hair (all one length) almost to my waist that is thick and wavy so the pin up won't work for me but I love how you incorporated the hair scrunchie. Great video! I loved all.of the tips, and especially your easy yet elegant updo! One thing I would emphasize is - physical fitness and exercise should be for everyday NOT just to prep for special occasions. Weight bearing exercise is essential as we age, beneficial in so many ways.

Great point! We are bombarded with steps to do BEFORE makeup. I use a my serum and a moisturizer with SPF and eye cream. No primer. I suppose for those with oily skin, or skin that has an uneven texture, the primer helps the makeup go on longer and last longer. It's good to try sample sizes to see if it makes a difference for you, (Sephora gives small samples if you ask in the store ;-)

I am useless with makeup. My stepson is getting married in 2 weeks. After 9 months of learning, buying and trying, there is no beautiful transformation after I put makeup on. The whole process is an exercise in frustration and despair. But you, my dear, are absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for the videos 🙂

What a great video. You have such a soothing voice and friendly, helpful nature that you're a joy to watch. I have 2 important weddings coming up and am having the hardest time finding the right gowns. I love the fit and cut of your gown but I need solid colors (black, burgundy, or navy). I think I'll take a page from your book and get some sparkly flat sandals. As my gowns will be long no-one will really see my feet and a happy, comfortable lady is always more attractive that one suffering in uncomfortable shoes or worse yet dancing barefoot because she couldn't stand her heels another minute. I love your hair and makeup tips and appreciate all the work it takes to make these videos.

Absolutely gorgeous Ms Kerry-Lou! I have shoulder length, thick, wavy, coarse, unruly hair. I have found over the years that it's better for me to wash and blow dry it the evening before the 'main event'. A lot less stress on event day and just a five minute once over with the hair dryer and styling brush. Love your videos - keep 'em coming x

I loved watching you do your makeup and hair. I’m trying really hard to grow my hair out. I really thought all your hair was up in the bun. I may try that myself. Not for anything special. But so I don’t go tomorrow and get my hair cut. I normally wear my hair short. And if it doesn’t start behaving better, I’ll be getting it cut again soon. My hair doesn’t seem to grow longer, it just seems to grow outward. I’m trying to tame it with barrettes and bobby-pins. But you looked wonderful at the end. Loved your dress.

Hi, I love your channel. I've spent the last two weeks doing a deep dive into all you great 50+ beauty channels, trying EVERYTHING under the sun. No matter how moisturized, serumed, prepped, blended, etc., everything I try still looks cakey and worse than NO MAKEUP! I've been trying every drugstore product under the sun: Loreal and Covergirl/Olay foundations, Milani bronzers and blushes, Pixie peach (and Tarte) color correction, elf, hydrating, Maybelline FiT, No7, and several other concealers, with and without primer, using new Real Techniques brushes, etc... I have under-eye circles, crepey lids, vertical lip lines, and visible pores. I'm following all the guidelines and still it looks terrible! I'm doing all of this to prepare for my son's wedding (remote area, so no professional help), and I'm at a loss. What else to try???

WOW! You look terrific! I want to try the silicone patches! AND. I bought a salt & pepper pony/bun/scrunchie (you see I don't even know what to call it!!!) BUT I really don't know how to use it. Very enjoyable. Your hair is lovely and the scrunchie was really nice. I loved your nails! The entire ensemble was fabulous. I'm surprised that you didn't wear a necklace. I have grown out my grey hair and grown the length to be able to pull it back into a small ponytail, but in photos , it is rather aging. I might cut it in the fall. Advice on managing the jowls with hair and makeup might be helpful. But nothing short of cosmetic surgery will help me...haha.

I'm a recent new fan - binge watching your videos! I wish I'd found the 'getting ready for a special event' before my hands fasting ceremony three years ago - I sort of threw some make up on my face, took my hair down out of it's scrunchie and put my dress on - got married in my Converse because I had to run through the woods to get there in time! I love this and will absolutely be practising so the next time I have an event, I can leave myself longer than 20 minutes! Love what you do Kerry-Lou!

Beautiful Lady! I loved the video, so down to earth and relaxed. Your dress is gorgeous. I'm 76 and and the heels are now out for me. Went to a wedding just before the pandemic and wore flats for the very first time in my life. I am now buying more flat shoes to wear to an event or meeting or wherever. After all comfy is the now of the game as we age.

Love the total look. I have always fixed my own hair and most likely my mother’s also because I’m a former hairstylist. My hair is not easy to work with but thankfully my mother’s was. I did all this for my wedding 51 years ago, and my children’s weddings. Don’t ask me why. Maybe it’s because the only time I ever have my hair styled is when I need a full haircut. Now, I’m 70 years old and as I think back in time, the last time I had my hair done professionally was in 1968 for my senior class pictures. I’ve never had my makeup done professionally either for any event and I probably should have. I simply never thought about it. With that said, I would encourage everyone to have facials, hair, makeup, nails, and pedicures all done professionally. It’s all part of the fun. Well done for a completely finished and glamorous look. I’m sure your husband was not all that upset to be standing by his gorgeous wife.

Thanks for the tips. My name is Kerry. I am planning for my son’s wedding in November. I took a huge chance and bought an expensive dress online. Never tried on. I fell in love with it instantly. It was not the color but it was the color pallet. And I am a plane Jane but this has glitter. Sometimes you have to step out of the box when your heart knows it’s right. Thank you for your encouraging words. I have shaved off my peach fuzz too for years. Moisturizing face masks do help with makeup. I enjoyed the entire video.

The curly hair is definitely a learning journey! it can be tricky, trying to find the right products for your hair, and just when you think you found the right one... The weather changes and so does your hair! despite all that, I think I will keep it curly for a while though, and play around with some different hairstyles 😁

Thanks Kim, the strange thing is, that blush is called Apricot, but I definitely wouldn't have called it that - it's more of a vivid neutral pink! However sometimes a peachy colour can be worn with a fuschia lip, at the moment, we are seeing a lot of fuschia/orange mixes! All the best to you!

Thank you for this video. I am a soon to be Mother of the Bride. Do you have a suggestion for a more coverage foundation? I have Melasma and need to cover it. I am scheduled for micro needling to hopefully help lighten it some. At my other daughters wedding I didn’t feel pretty because I was over weight and had let my hair go too long without a though up. This time I’ve lost weight and just want to feel pretty too in the pictures with my baby girl.

One of my favorites full-coverage foundations is Estee Lauder's Double Wear Maximum Cover. They do have a couple of versions of it, one has a lighter coverage, but both full coverage. Many of my makeup artists friends have this in their pro-makeup kits ;-) It's a good idea to go to the counter and test what color is best for you. I have found that Estee Lauder is very good about putting a small amount in a container (sample) for you to try. Lot's of luck to you, I know you will look fab for this wedding!!

Thanks so much Linda, it depends on how you take care of your skin at home. I LOVE skin care, and as you may know, I have skin care devices that help, so I don't NEED to go often for a facial, (but I go one every 6 weeks or so) A facial is great for moving lymph, and unclogging pores, also, they may apply a treatment to remove all the dead skin cells on the surface. You might be able to do all that at home, but it's a real treat to have a pro do it! All the best to you! x

Getting ready for my 2nd wedding 4 years ago was rather nice except for my hair. I was living in a foreign country in a room in an old mansion. I had no family or friends with me, so I spent the entire morning alone, taking my time to do my face, make-up, nails, etc. I put nice music on and really enjoyed the moment. I had hired a hairdresser to come to my room to do my hair - I wanted a loose gibson-girl type hair-do. Unfortunately, when she left, I looked more like Marj Simpson, minus the blue! @@@@:-0 I should have hired her twice and discussed and tweaked the hair before the big day. Lesson learned. LOL. (P.S. Kerry-Lou, you look marvelous with or without make-up! A true beauty inside and out. :) )

Love your video's! I'm watching because I am the grandmother of the bride. I'm 76 years old and yes - I still would like to be as glamorus as possible even with the realities (too much weight) I have to deal with. I am not slim and trim but I did figure out what dress (with a jacket for arms) would work the best for me and yes my outfit is bride approved. I'm wearing a spagghetti strap black beaded floor length gown with a fushia satin jacket. (a color the bride really likes and would be happy if someone wore it. Similar colors as your dress. So I think I can wear the makeup pallet that you used. Thank you for all the useful tips that your shared. Sure wish you could do my makeup! Any tips on how to find someone to do my make-up?

I love getting ready for an event! It's an event itself😆. It starts days before, I try on my outfit with shoes (I call this rehearsal), clean my jewelry, maybe choose my eyeshadow palette and definitely do some skin prep. All part of the fun, I totally related to this video ❣️❣️❣️

When I lost my hair from BC chemo, I promised myself I would keep it the color it grew back (my hair is naturally nearly black), and it grew back 85% nearly black - with grey only in my natural side-part. I was hoping @ 55 years at the time, 3 years ago - it would have grown back the beautiful sparkling hair you have. Fortunately, I wasn't disappointed my hair is still very curly.🌺😁

I love how you're so real, and down to Earth. Yes, I have curly wavy hair. It's difficult finding and keeping a stylist than can actually do a good job styling my hair. I just found one last April. And I love my hair now. Just use some Miss Jessie gel and scrunch. In the morning , I keep a bottle of glycerin water in a spray bottle. Just a few squirts and scrunch. Ready to go. I love how it comes right back. Just wonderful. What brand of silicone strips did you use? I have sensitive skin. You don't have to smoke to get those vertical lines. I shave too. I like the Schick. It works better than anything else. Waxing gave me bumps. I finish with rosewater. I always love you beautiful curly hair. It always looks good.

Thanks very much Jill. I have also found that I like the sprays I make up myself, rather than the shop bought ones. I use gel and water, plus a tiny amount of lavender oil for fragrance. I will add the glycerin to the mix! all the best to you!

Dab them regularly throughout the day with a cotton ball soaked in Listerine mouth wash - the original stuff. Each time you do this, hold it for a few minutes on the cold sore. This seems to cut the healing time in half. Good luck!!

Hi Sally, No one should be without the DermaColor Camouflage System. They sell a mini palette so you can get the right color. I always have this in my pro kit just in case;-D it will cover anything! Try not to get nervous coming up to the event - nerves seem to make them pop up! Good luck, and have fun! x
