Mother, I usually agree with your comments on Angelina. I would disagree that she “found her voice” on this song. It’s an unusual voice for Angelina, but it’s one of the “girl-with-a-thousand-voices” voice. It’s definitely a more mature voice now, but Angelina just continues to show us different voice for different genres. I think Angelina is most natural as a jazz singer. Her very recent live performance with Toby Gad shows another Angelina voice you’ve never heard-and it’s amazing. It’s Angelina giving us soulful jazz, but she really takes it to another level. Angelina really shows her genius in the rendition of this song where she is walking while singing in the streets of London. It is quite like the 'Academy Award' winning song/video for 'Streets of Philadelphia' where Bruce Springsteen simply walks through the streets of Philadelphia while singing, and he in no way came close to the vocal power Angelina delivers in her video.

Hi girls hope your doing good! The thing that I love about Angelina is that she has so many styles of singing and is able to make songs her own but still honors the original song and singer. You should also hear the A cappella(1/3 of the song) version recorded with the church own reverb+ only piano and chello. It is magic(same as the name of her first album ever). Best version of this cover in my opinion. Love from Norway!
I expect she'll be mostly doing her own original music now (rather than covers), and mostly in collaboration with Toby Gad. Toby not only wrote "If I Were a Boy," he was playing piano in this video. I expect Toby will produce many of her upcoming original tunes. Mom you are wrong here. Acapella means without instruments. It can be sung by any number of voices. Singing in groups as small as one are, solo-1 voice, duet-2 voices, trio-3 voices, quartet-4 voices. All of these can be sung acapella or with instruments.
I'm sure you've been told this already, but she *just* dropped a different version of this song recorded during the same session as this music video, but featuring what appears to be the real audio captured in the church (as opposed to the studio track we are hearing here). It sounds less processed, but otherwise very similar (well… except that she slows it down and sings the opening verse a cappella). It's on her official channel.
