The problem is that they could get custody, what kind of mother do you think she is? Have you ever had to give your child to someone you don’t trust? It’s horrible, especially if they beg not to be left. Narcissists often get pregnant immediately after marriage, or to force a marriage. They then hold the children over the other parents head. He probably stayed to keep things somewhat normal for the kids, to protect them.

I couldn't see life without him. Now it's forced upon me. This woman never loved anyone but herself. NO ! You’re wrong. People talking about this man staying with her after the attempted murders. Why would he do that? When men get divorced it can be worse than death. Wife gets everything, the house, alimony, child support. Wife gets rewarded for divorce. Men get a death sentence.

It's the oldest motive known to man for murder: greed. This woman is the human embodiment of the darkest evil. If you don't want to be with your significant other, have an adult conversation and go separate ways. Don't kill them! And the nerve of her to write a book on grief for her kids about their father's death knowing she killed him. She's gonna have a big condo right beside the lake of fire in Hell where she's going for doing this.

I’m curious what the other warning signs were in their marriage besides her trying to poison him. On the 10 to Life episode coverage, the husband said to his sister after he was first poisoned on vacation from a sandwich, that “if anything ever happens to me, it was Kouri.” Usually if a spouse gets sick after a meal made from their significant other, it’s usually chalked up to spoiled food. I wonder what made him immediately jump to this conclusion years ago?

Defense for husband: (1) a part of all of us humans wants to suspend disbelief that the nightmare isn’t happening. (2) he might have been worried about losing his kids whether thru custody after a divorce or harm. (3) if we say that it sometimes takes a woman 7 (or something like that) times to leave an abusive relationship, then we need to understand that men could also be in abusive relationships and struggle to leave. Poor man. Poor children. This is such a sad and disturbing story, so let’s not direct any blame toward the victim.

People ask "why didn't he just leave?" Sadly if he had, she probably would have gotten custody unless he was somehow able to prove his suspicions about her, which he likely didn't have concrete evidence for. Also they were just suspicions; he probably didn't truly think she would kill him It's not uncommon for men to stay with abusive women who have exhibited past violent/dangerous behavior, because people tend to underestimate women's potential for evil until it's too late. Domestic violence and homicide are still almost always perceived as something only women need to fear from dangerous men
