I was there brother, and there is no other like it today you are correct. But it was hot in the day there and cold at night. The drugs and alcohol kept us alive in between people breaking the water cannons. But this concert is something I will never forget in my lifetime. Its was a much easier time compared to today.
Nikki fakes the bass great here, this was just before he died 5 times from heroin, just ask him he will talk about it for years in every interview his phoney ass has ever done...poser
You're right. But the benefit you have is RU-vid, Wiki, and your own desire to find it my friend. :D Scorpions (Lonesome Crow to Crazy World), Priest (Rocka Rolla to Painkiller), Maiden (Iron Maiden to 7th Son), AC/DC (High Voltage to Razor's Edge), Ozzy (Blizzard to No Rest), Jethro Tull (This Was to Heavy Horses), ELP (1st to Brain Salad), Deep Purple (Shades Of to Machine Head), Misfits (everything up to and including Famous Monsters), Van Halen (I to OU812), Sabbath (up to Heaven and Hell), Dokken (Tooth and Nail), RATT (1st EP and Out Of the Cellar), Riot (1st 3 albums - yes - RIOT not Quiet Riot), Saxon (1st album through Crusader then pick it up at Solid Ball Of Rock, Lionheart, Inner Sanctum sofaking good!), Metal Church (Blessing In Disguise), Frank Zappa (*start with* Apostrophe/One Size Fits All - you will spend your whole life finding stuff from him), Minor Threat, FEAR, DEATH (all 7 albums), Pink Floyd, The Kinks, Killing Joke, Jimi Hendrix. IT'S ALL TREASURE dude. :D CHEERS!
I swear the crue never seemed like they even appreciated Mick that much even back then. He is a fucking legend and an inspiration to me and many other people.
Yeah I was a newish Crue fan when I posted this lol and back then to me it seemed like they didn’t appreciate Mick as much. But years later I definitely see how the others really cared about how important he was to the band. Especially Nikki and Tommy.
It is New year's eve 2021 11:20 pm. This is how I choose to end one shitty ass year. Thank you so much Motley for being there for me for me for 30 + years.
I'd like to think they (like many other artists) exaggerate their sexcapades a bit. I'm sure they engaged in hoards of orgies and debauchery and whatnot but, not as much as they boast about. We have no way of knowing really.
Compared to what he’s put his body through and after all how many others singers can say that they have been performing as long as Motley Crüe and literally hitting all those notes like they did 30 years ago as Vince’s voice was his instrument the others played their’s! There is a big difference guys and no artist honestly sounds the same 20 or 30 years later as most peoples voices change with age just like rock stars? Just great these guys were able to entertain us longer than most others bands have for as long as they did.
I was at this concert 83 may30 I was in Marine Corp then it was a fucking blast David Lee Roth was soooo drunk he forgot alot of words I mean alot Judas priest was probably the best show out of all the bands and triumph
One thing that's cool about this -- aside from the obvious time travel back to 1983 -- is that they were recording Shout At The Devil during this time period. The album didn't come out for until four months later, I think.
Shout at the Devil was released Sept. 23, 1983 I was only 12 years old. I can now see why my parents were not pleased with me and my taste for music. Oh well, to each his own.
"Out go the lights, in goes my knife, pull out his life, consider that bastard dead!" Gave pat Robertson heart palpitations brother...I miss going to your friends house, you're all waiting on a bag o weed, playing the waiting game, put on the new crue, or new metallica album, I never would've believed rock n roll could ever die, but its all living in the past now, once our generation passes away, it'll fuckin be gone forever...who would've ever , in a million fuckin years thought...,...........
I always tell friends that I wish I was born a few years earlier. The pre-internet/cellphone world was so much better than this toilet era. Sorry, but technology can't recreate the sex, drugs & rock n' roll animalism of the 60s, 70s and 80s. Life was simple, sometimes raw, fun, and politically incorrect. LOVED IT! ♥ \m/
They were still new at this time. Neil has a kick ass voice, but I think some of the time in those early years, he was totally wasted and forgot the words to the song, etc. I think everyone would agree that you aren't going to sing at your fullest potential when you are drunk! LOVE THE Crue!!
