HEY! WE HAVE A MERCH STORE!!!! www.dwschopshop.com Here is part 1 on installing a springer on a 75 fxe. It's pretty similar no matter what make, model, or year.
Gonna subscribe because of 2 things. 1 is how thorough the video is and the other is how he talks just like the mechanics i grew up around talked. Its refreshing watching a video and the dude behind the camera is just being real
I appreciate it! I'm by no means an influencer. I'm just trying to help people out. Straight to the point good information. I'll be posting religiously again here shortly. School and work have me busy at the moment.
Putting a Motoiron on my 1980 ironhead this week! I was surprised to see the instructions that came with the front end were for brake assembly as well. Lol. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for this! Bought a Motoiron springer for my ‘17 Sporty a while back and this is so very helpful. Really, thank yo so much and ride safe.
I'm glad to hear it helped! I'm stuck working 12 hour night shifts at my real job. Once I get off this schedule, I'll walk through the wheel alignment and brake installation.
@@edmondndrecaj4377 No problem. I have my Facebook account linked on my youtube home page. Feel free to message me on there whenever you need to. Don't forget to like and subscribe!
@@DWchopshop the only social media I have is RU-vid pretty much it’s going pretty well I am gonna have to flip the top tree to make everything fit with the kit I got for the 7/8 to and 1in adapters but they didn’t come with dust covers , any tips on what to use instead or fuck the dust covers
@@edmondndrecaj4377 Nice! you don't really "need" dust covers, but it is best practice to use them. It will help your bearings last a lot longer, I do recommend using them. you might be able to use or modify your stock dust covers. if not J&P sells them for a few bucks a piece. Or if you have a set of sheet metal shears and a ball-peen hammer, make you own. All they are is thin sheet metal.
Going negative is rough. It really changes your trail angle, and with a stock rake, it makes steering sort of hard. If you're going from a 16" front tire to a 21", you could pull it off. If you want to keep a 16" up front -2 would be a decent spot to start. If you have a 19" front, -3 should be okay. The rear shocks would be fine, mighty look a little funny, or be sort of uncomfortable, but thats nothing you can't change.
I just know found your videos I watched all the videos on hard tailing the sportster, they was a skinny guy building that bike than I started watching this video did you eat that little guy.lol civilian life will do that to you want it.
For the cost, yeah. Built better than dna with the one peice legs, the ride quality is bearable. I've used them on my personal bikes before and recommend them for people who don't want to spend 1200 bucks on just the springer.
Ya I just mocked up a dna one and is prob cut the same way it’s a little odd. The dna one is recessed for a internal Fork stop kit. The issue I just ran into is with a stock fxst wheel the hub has maybe a centimeter before it hits the knuckle nub. Do you have to run a narrow glide hub in those ?
@riffraffchoppers most people run a narrow hub, you don't have to. You can make your own spacers and fit whatever you want. This bike has a wide front tire on it. 16"x4" if I remember right.
