Awesome ride! Was in Brevard last fall. Down The Pisgah from the BRP and then up to Gat with a stop at Kuwahi (also called Clingman's Dome). I don't have the chops for this ride but maybe when I get better riding off the slab. Excellent vid. Will look for more.
Great video. I have backpacked the Brevard area extensively over the years. I am just getting into adventure motorcycles. Where did you find this route? I did my first ever off road ride yesterday through the sandhills section of the SCAR. A big learning curve but it was awesome. Thanks for any info you have.
Welcome to the world of ADV riding--it's a blast! Yeah, sand riding is a unique thing, and even experienced riders can struggle in deep sand. I am not a sand fan, myself. Regarding the Brevard ride. We decided we wanted to ride in that general area, so we got on Google maps and plotted routes we thought made sense. We did hit a few closed forest service gates and had to turn around, but that's normal when exploring a new area.
I'd like to have a copy of that route as well; lots of stuff I've never seen in Pisgah. We were out there on Saturday, but we only go the chance to hit 477B (we road up from the GS event down in Greenville)
Much of the route I had made got tossed when we hit a closed forest road, and then again when we had to adjust on the fly due to weather, so I’m not sure I could re-create what we actually rode. In general, it was in the Brevard/Rosman area. I guess that’s why it’s “Adventure” riding 😂
