Without a doubt, I believe motorcycle riding has therapeutic value! This channel shares some of my motorcycle adventures (moto therapy), along with a some tips and reviews. Hopefully my moto therapy will rub off a little, and you'll want to get some for yourself!
Can I ask why you chose the KLX over the CRF ? I’m 62 and have been going the same route as you. I have a 21 CRF 300 l but I’m getting ready to change some things and wonder if the klx would be a better platform.
@@Mjr1348 I only chose the KLX over the CRF because of the KLX’s better suspension. I love my KLX. That said, I am very intrigued by the new CFMoto Ibex 450 (aka 450 MT). It didn’t exist when I bought my KLX, but seems to check a lot of my boxes. The only drawback (but not a total show-stopper) for me is that it’s 100% Chinese.
Just arrived and installed the purchased. Came here to see what more experienced people say about them. Also am thinking good value for what you get. Much better than wearing backpack.
Does the Bumont toolbox hit the rear splashguard? I broke my splashguard with the Wunderlich Toolbox. Apparently later they included in the manual to "remove the splashguard" if you want to use it with the toolbox...
@@MotoTherapy That's good. On normal road use it was fine but after I did some offroad it broke off from the top two screws and only held by the bottom one.
I do hope that you change dealer till now...all mentioned dealer issue...Bike might not be best on the market but far more value for money compare to others in same class
I made the opposite switch. Last year I sold a 2017 GS1200 exclusive for needed funds at the time. I will say it was the most awesome bike I’ve ever owned. But it was a big, heavy bike and the annual service costs were $200-500/yr all while under warranty. I was also concerned about the esa or some other expensive dodad breaking. Then I purchased a Yamaha fj-09 which was a fine bike but never really jelled with it. It was fast, flickable, fit me well and weighed much less than the GS. But chain noise and the engine sound irritated me after a while plus it just felt cheap compared to the GS. So I just purchased a used 2022 V85tt Guardia D’ Onore with the aluminum panniers & top case. It has everything I want, shaft drive, cruise control & heated grips. I really like the sound and it’s all day comfortable. I also like the fact that the V85 is lighter than the GS and not as techy. I do plan on performing my own service on the V85. Hopefully my experience on the Guzzi will be better than yours. Time will tell. Cheers!
I hope the Guzzi treats you well! I loved the ergos and the riding experience. The ownership experience just left me with a bad taste that I couldn’t shake. Safe travels!
When i put my spacers for the rear rack in the hole where the tool kit was they fall through. There is nothing keeping the spacers from falling through. Its a 2024 KLX 300..Thoughts?
Possibly Kawasaki changed the tool kit mount on the new gen bike? I’m out of town and unable to look at mine and offer good advice. I recommend calling RMATV to see if they have fitment suggestions. Hopefully they can offer advice!
I've been looking for Saddle bags for my KTM Duke 390 Adventure and did not care for the available stock option...I just found these and i'm going to order a set. I just need functional! I can't wait to try them out.
6” Shock Sox. www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/shock-sox-fork-seal-guards-p I used one of one of 4 or 5 extra SAE connectors that I had laying around, so I am unable to provide an exact link, but here’s a link to a similar one: amzn.to/4bXci4O
You know... if your bike takes superhuman effort to clear a log... maybe you have the wrong bike. My family (parents & sister) and I were riding those trails before the lake was there. There are a lot of nice trails under water now. Looks like there are still a lot of nice trails left. Looks like a lot of fun.
Yep-lots of fun. Would have loved to see the trails before the lake was flooded. As for the right/wrong bike…most people can’t afford to have a bike for every situation, so the bike you have ends up being the best bike 👍 BTW, the guys on the big bikes rode-in (on their bikes) for our meetup from other states, so those are the cards they had to play.
FYI, according to their product Q&A Rocky Mt ATV does not sell replacement security knobs for the Tusk pannier mounts, nor would they provide specs for an after market replacement. For anyone looking, it's an M8 x 20mm.
Fantastic KTM warranty! Foggy screen and they replaced with another FOGGY SCREEN! WOW! What a great deal and the service is excellent!...Looks like a great bike, but I'll await the issues being sorted before I get caught out several hundred miles from assistance in BC's backcountry.
I just finished installing the Tusk rack and aluminum panniers on my 2023 KLR 650S. I must say that the installation on my Royal Enfield Himalayan was much easier; however, I think the Tusk system is much more rugged and the bags have more capacity.
Owned a ton of expensive ADVs and Enduro's. My KLX i spent under $100 on a 13t sprocket, bigger pegs, a bicycle air pump, and a backpack LOL. Adjust the psi and suspension clickers and have more fun than any of my bikes I spent 3x more on.
It was about making the point, and having hardware that matches so that I can carry fewer tools. The seller is more likely to fix their quality control problem if they have to go through the hassle of shipping replacement parts than if they just are just told that a part was missing. Also, every trip to the closest hardware store is over 30 min each way for me. I’m not a fan burning $10+ in gas to go see if the hardware store happens to have an unusual bolt that will work, all because of someone else’s sloppy QC.
I just bought the Tusk rack and medium sized aluminum panniers. Mine are the V2 cases so the lids hinge which I very much like. I had aluminum side cases on my Africa Twin and my Himalayan. Both the rack and the cases seem much sturdier than the others although I wasn’t concerned about them. I love locking panniers because I can leave my bike any where and not worry about it. I throw a 25 litre soft bag on the top with my essentials for the motel.
I'm looking to farkle out my 2019 GS, and I was going to skip this video until I saw your MRP shirt. Gotta stop and take the time to watch how another MRP alumni farkles out their GS! RMFR!
I want to do this run on a coming of age ride with my son when he turns 18 before I send him off to manhood been researching it for some months . I work on wild land fires as a water tender and get to see things people can only dream of . And try to explain the sights and beautiful wilderness of our beautiful country so I figured I’ll just show him by doing this leg of the TAT . Thanks for sharing your experience what a great ride ! Cheers
I am currently looking for a solution to my 80s fiberglass saddlebags for my 1979 Kawasaki. I had to do a lot of fabrication to make the bracket work with the bike, and the bike bracket to work with the fiberglass saddlebag cage. I have had the lids break free of the rivets on the hinge several times and at this point, I can't justify fiberglassing them again. My biggest issue is water entering the saddlebags through where the brackets mount up to them. I am glad to see even though your saddlebags mount up the same way as mine, they do not allow water inside. I was considering using ammo boxes, but I don't have any big enough for my liking. Thanks for the review!
They came in, they had all the hardware there which is good, install was pretty easy, took me longer than I wanted because Im a moron and put the bottom four bolts through from the outside instead of the inside, and then forgot the washers inbetween the bracket and the box. Other than the problems I caused it was easy as pie and everything holds solid. Thank you sir for making the videos you do
How come all these new adventure bikes are so fragile? You would expect them to be rugged or at least have ways around limp modes or sensor failures. VStrom's are looking more like the true rugged adv bikes because of their simplicity.
It is confusing. The Amazon link from my original order no longer works (the product listing must have been updated since I ordered mine), but I believe this is the Auxito bulb I used: amzn.to/49ZuMkr
Thank you sir for what you do. I'm gonna give tusk a try even though you had trouble with their support when you were installing the racks on your Klx300. Plus I can always go to lowes or something since I'm impatient. But with how honest you were about that whole ordeal, when you say that these cases are good, I believe you completely. Have a nice one
They are basic cases, and the fit/finish with Tusk can be a little imperfect sometimes, but they are extremely tough and a great value, in my opinion. I’ve abused them quite a bit and they have never leaked, etc. Wishing you all the best!
I had a similar experience with @RMATV with my racks on my motorcycle. Different brand motorcycle but similar silly needless issue. After escalating up to a manager, I did receive good customer service but not the first time around. Basically accused me of lying to them. The manager listened to the phone call and acknowledged their rep was in the wrong. Dumb problem that can easily be mitigated with good customer service, which I did not receive. Sadly this seems to be more than just you. Otherwise good product at a great price. I suppose if you are cutting costs, it has to come from somewhere. Great video!
That is one of my top memories from the trip. Ironically, that bridge wasn’t actually on the TAT, it was as we were diverting off the route and onto pavement, so that we could get a new tire at the Cycle Gear in Granite Pass.
Ive got the 21 890R and its been great, 18,000 miles on it, dirt and street both. It loves tight paved backroads, totally neutral handling dives into corners readily, the brakes are solid 1 finger stoppers, so easy to use. On dirt/rocks/ rough roads the R likes it when I keep the pace up, soaks things up better. I put 1 rate softer springs ft and rr to suit my weight, much better that way, A Sargent seat and its an all day comfy ride that way. No problems, no wheel issues on mine, havent even had to adjust the chain yet. Had a lot of KTM's over the years, this is the funnest one yet.
