Welcome to Austin, Texas for the upcoming MotoGP race! There's a lot of excitement and news surrounding this event. As we saw in the latest video, we witnessed Fabio Quartararo's contract renewal with Yamaha, the sale of Dorna to Liberty Media, and of course, the ongoing controversy surrounding the incident between Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia.
Let's start with the Portimao race. Once again, tire problems became evident during the race, causing both Bagnaia and Marquez to struggle. They made contact, resulting in a crash. Many people have been speculating and spreading rumors, but it's just a typical incident that can happen between two talented and competitive riders. We can consider it an unfortunate racing incident, one that we can archive and move on from. If the same situation were to occur 100 times, the outcome would likely be the same because both riders were pushing their limits and battling issues with their tires.
Let's focus on the bigger problem at hand - Marquez's return to form. Marquez is not here to simply participate; he wants to win and be competitive. He's fearless and determined. If he has the opportunity, he will push the limits again, maybe even making contact with another rider in the future. This is the nature of motorsport; otherwise, it would become a game of volleyball with no excitement.
Moving on to the race itself, it was quite uneventful, aside from the already discussed incident. However, I want to mention Aprilia, who once again proved that they are not yet ready to compete with Ducati. They have improved significantly, but they still have organizational and technical issues to address. With the arrival of Davide Brivio after the mid-season, we can expect significant changes and better results.
Now let's talk about the sale of Dorna to Liberty Media. This is great news because it signifies a step forward and a significant improvement. The Americans have a different vision, and I'm optimistic that there will be growth, especially in terms of image availability and content. Initially, the Ecclestone family was in charge, but I predict that within a couple of years, they will be replaced by internal personnel. Liberty Media has already expressed their intention to bring at least three Grand Prix races to America. The American market is a massive user base for manufacturers, and currently, there is no true championship in the country. Although there is MotoAmerica, when compared to other national championships, it feels more like an amateur competition. I anticipate that Liberty Media will make significant investments even in the lower categories, as has been done in France, Spain, Italy, and the Middle East.
Now, let's look forward to the upcoming race in Austin. I can't wait to see what unfolds! I hope to witness some unexpected performances from certain riders who haven't shown their full potential yet. I'm especially excited to see Alex Rins perform like he did last year, and I'm sure Marquez and Bagnaia will be highly competitive as well. I expect sparks to fly and a high-tension Grand Prix. So far, the championship hasn't revealed much due to the unique tracks we've seen. Austin might not be the ultimate test, but I believe the true MotoGP championship will start from Jerez onwards.
One of the most exciting discoveries of the 2024 season is the emergence of Pedro Pedro Costa. He is proving to be a true champion with exceptional talent. If he can maintain his composure and consistency, as demonstrated in the first two races, he could become a formidable contender for the top positions in the championship. While winning the championship might be a stretch, he has the potential to challenge for podium finishes. Keep an eye on Pedro, especially on a circuit like Austin, where his style of riding and the layout of the track could lead to a pleasant surprise. We are witnessing the birth of a new champion, and we can't wait for the race to begin!
I hope you enjoyed this preview of the MotoGP race in Austin, Texas. Stay tuned for more updates and let the excitement build up as we approach the race weekend. Thank you for watching, and I'll see you in the next video!
