I love big, old, simple diesel engins, without commonrail and some other high pressure injectors and electronics everywhere wich are breaking all the time. Engins like this one, they`ve got soul and you know, that if you strart it it will never die until run out of fuel or you tourn it off.
Despite what most people may think, these engines were independently developed. Deutz air-cooled diesels were the basis for these engines, but there are quite a few differences between these engines and their Deutz counterparts.
@Truckerek666 This is old 19litre Tatra engine from year 1983. It has 265 kW (356 hp) with 1295 Nm of torque. Present Tatra engines are mostly V8 (12,7litre) (with 1 turbo) - 325 kW (435 hp) and 2100 Nm of torque. They are Euro 5 certified. Tatra is working on Euro 6 V8 engine in present days.

My Tatra from 1983 has much more than 356hp. The pump were very conservatively set for the military and mine was maxed out during a renovation of the pump and also turbo pressure increased. It has much more power now, maybe 150 to 200hp more. These trucks were constructed to pull 50 ton trailers and if the engine was maxed out during that it would not last. 556hp is more like it maxed.
@vtunimog tatra is no. 2 oldest car producer after Benz.. benz was first and Tatra - Koprivnice was second oldest car ever produced.. It is still in the technical Museum in Prague.. Or they moved it in the Tatra museum in the headqauter of the company? I am not sure.. i was small when i was in that museum last time.
@300tdTmb Common rail and EUI or HEUI injection systems wont break often if you take care of oil services and proper fuel filtration/water separation systems when you are supposed to. Main reason why newer systems break is lack of maintenance.

slovakia engine, manual 10+2 gears, mounted 4x4, 6x6 8x8 to tatra 813 Kolos (check it out it is an offroad beast that can carry anything unimaginable on an of the road... fully loaded weights 76tons) and it is originaly a multifuel engine, eat diesel after small adaptation of fuel pump eats classic BA95-97 petrol mixed with motoroil or even kerosene mix and oil... 17,6 litre V12 N/A (in video is homemade turbocharged) air cooled (if you check out ride in tatra 813 you will hear a specifick whistle from engine similar to supercharger, but that is the sound of big ventilator...) originaly N/A puts down 245hp with about 1,300 NM of torgue....
neni potreba na zkousku davat filtr, motor je to natolik velky ze ho nic nerozhodi,kvalita materialu, tu taky ne a nehlede nato je ovyvan vetrem. velice pekne jde,nato ze nema vyfuk a filtr,ktery by ho jeste ztisili. jinak jako vzdy se musi tatra predevsim pochvali na zvolene promyslenosti. proporce jejich komponentu je velice dobra. at uz napravy,motory,prevody. ukazkove je treba tatra 613 a 805. diky za ukazku,tatru sem jeste nikdy nerozebiral,zkoncil sem liazem
@Ivkej no ne, ptám se právě konkrétně na tatrováckej nejvýkonější motor (ať už sériový nebo "pokus"), alternativy od Deutze apod. mě v tomto případě nezajímají...
Yeah I know that... I just don't understand why you'd want to take it THERE. I'd rather take it to a track, drag strip, car show, or at least a car lovers hang out place. Like a diner where people drive up in awesome cars all the time. Can you imagine the tail you'd get with a car like that? :D
Dělám generálky Tater 12 let, proto nechápu proč se s celým motorem takto piplali, aby tam v samotném finále kazily dojem olezlé vstřikovací trubky. Jinak fešák.
az na to ze tohle neni bi-turbo,tohle se montovalo do vojenskejch specialu a je to 12ti valec s dvema turby.bi-turbo sou dve turba za sebou ato prvni doplnuje druhy a ne jak tady kazdy na jednu stranu aby bylo jasno
Biturbo a twinturbo je to isté aj sú 2 tipy Paralelné - oba turbá pracujú súčasne každé je poháňané polovicou výfuk. plynov. Sekvenčné - jedno pre nízke a druhé pre vysoké otáčky :D
jj kazda hlava je samostatne, a 314 koni je dost malo:-) klasicky 10V ma 228KW, takze 12V s dvouma turbama ma cca 500koní, a to mazani je velmi hezké .-) 2,5:-), je videt ze je to takrka nove :-)

tallll70 Cheerokee's must be gas and LPG based, beacuse of dual tanks and best torque made as russian tanks! Reserve tanks can also be used for fuel of chainsaw or trade if not for purpose use!
@setrvacnik Pletes se, zalezi pouze na oznaceni, resp. zameru vyrobce. Jsou znamy twinturba/biturba jak paralelni, tak i sekvencni. Mezi nejznamnejsi paralelni patri treba Bugatti Veyron, mezi sekvencni asi Porsche 959, BMW 535D, ostatne i Supra sem patri. Proste jen obchodni oznaceni a kdyz je to vyroba na miru, tak to zalezi od nich a pak je lehci odlisit dzem od marmelady nezli toto :D
Aby tento krasavec mal 500 konikov, tak by musel byt uz trosku ostrejsie ladeny. Takto origo motorik ma tych 365 koni. Nieco malo vykonnejsie boli 12 valce urcene na montaz do tahacov Diamol (special 815, 4x4).
