This is just a short video of our visit to this year's bike show. We tend to go every year even if there are no new bikes we are interested in - any reason for a bike ride! Unfortunately, the show is always on late in the year when the weather is at best unpredictable! This year was no exception as we rode into a torrential downpour after leaving the show. Nevertheless it was great to be there and especially meeting lots of people who follow the channel - Keith, Ray, Mandy + Dean, Chris, Mark + Debbie and Julie + John! Thanks so much for coming to say hello, it means such a lot. It was particularly interesting to visit the Mental Health Motorbike stand and chat with Paul about his inspiring initiative. I think we have a show coming up in Melbourne and yes the traffic up to Melb no different yuk. As to riding gear I learned the hard way way back but there is so much out there for us we have extremely varied weather when its hot we fry and its coming up ha ha anyway cheers take care. Hi you 2. Its CHARLIE here. Can't believe it s a year since we met at the bike show. TIME IS FLYING. 😭 Good video as usual. Me thinks SUE is a secret BMW fan. Get her converted B. An enjoyable video as ever, I'm not too interested in the new bike scene personally that I'd pay a visit to such events so videos as yours are good just to see what's new and I appreciate it thanks, rare Japanese classics interest me more. Your ride home reminded me of one of my most enjoyable rides on my Kawasaki triple when I was caught in such bad conditions, strangely I really enjoyed the experience. Ride safe.

That Tiger 1200 looks very appealing..... Looks like you enjoyed the visit, so nice when folks up up and chat when they've seen your vids. Answer on the Rukka, yes it's worth the money. Waterproof main zip went on mine with only a few months left on it's 5 year warranty. A temporary jacket was posted to me while mine was repaired. Its the only kit that keeps me dry riding in continuous pouring rain. Hope yours worked on the way home.

That’s exactly why I have the factory lowered GS. So much better for my lickle legs. I was there the first Sunday. Could not move. So crowded. Not used to such crowds in New Zealand.

Do mental health motorbike operate in Australia?? What an awesome idea. And something we could have really done with the help from when our son was really struggling with crippling depression and suicidal. It was at that time we encouraged him to follow his motorbike passion and get his license. I lost my twin brother to suicide in 2019. So please let us know how you go with it all, Sue!

Our second year at the show and first time riding up. We nearly got away with the weather but getting on the M27 near Southampton some 30 miles from home it chucked it down. Still didn't dampen the day. Great video and good to see recognition from your subscribers

It was a good show, I went on Thursday but went by train as the weather was dreadful. It paid off as I managed to get a great deal on a Shoei helmet and some other items so it made it easier to get them home safely. Shame there was no Moto Guzzi or Aprilia there as 5hey have some interesting bikes that I would have liked to seen.

Hi both, we went to the show today - first time for two of us and a return visit for our pal. Amazed at the number of manufacturers including old names - Norton, AJS etc and the massive amount of retro bikes. A real difference to 6/7 years ago apparently. So many of the bikes are really high - its not just you that struggles to reach the floor 😁. Absolutely lovely machines though - how to choose...? Anyway, thanks for a great vid as always, shame you got drenched on the way home.

I do ride with Halvarssons gear. Its not expensive in riding gear world, but in the 13 years i have used their stuff(before that it was only leather suits) , it has kept me dry and warm all year around. I commute bought summer and winter. First jack startet to leak afther 9 years so i guess thats quality 😊🇳🇴☕ ride safe

Re Rukka. My first gear was Klim which I was very pleased with. I replaced it with Rukka, which I'm quite disappointed with to be honest. The jacket is very heavy, especially on 200+ mile days, it weighs 1.7kg more than my Klim. The sleeve inserts that supposed to go inside your gloves are a complete faff and of little use. The trousers, although quite comfy on the waist, are tight across my hips so I have to mount and dismount the bike using the pegs because the trousers won't give enough to do it from the ground. I only use the Rukka in bad weather now as my Klim is sooo much more comfy for riding. Plus Rukka is bloody expensive!!

Thanks for posting this video - unfortunately I was unable to make it to the NEC this year - I particularly liked the section on Mental Health - I have said for many years that motorcycling is good for your mental health. To get on a bike alone and have to concentrate takes your mind off other pressing worries. This year my mum sadly passed away and one of the coping mechanisms I turned to was to get out and ride - I can honestly say it helped a lot. Training a 100 bikers in MHFA will be a fantastic achievement and I commend the organisation for undertaking the task and yourselves for agreeing to support the venture. Now I am going to start watching your Wild Atlantic Way series!! Joy

Myself and two mates went last Wednesday first time since 2018 didn't seem quite as big as i remember from last time nethertheless had a great day out unfortunately it flew by far too quick it was incredibly busy in the morning though. I've owned a keis heated vest for the last 3 years it's a complete game changer for all year round riding had mine when they were giving the heat controller away free with them even in the depths of winter never have it above medium & no more looking like the michelin man in loads of layers, They should be marketed as a safety aid as heating your core keeps your whole body warm and if your cold thats all your thinking about & not focused on riding

We think you’re right about it not being as big or varied as the old days! Totally agree on the heated clothing 👍 it’s an absolute game changer - as you say stops you feeling like Michelin Man and definitely makes you a safer rider. I’ve learned from past experience how being seriously cold affects your ability to concentrate. Hands down the best decision we ever made when it comes to riding gear! Thanks for watching! 😀👍

I rode and rode years on Aldi jacket trousers yes it must be nice to have the dinero for £1000 + riding gear but unfortunately I don’t. I spend my spare cash on fuel but if you have got unlimited cash I don’t think it’s wrong to buy expensive riding gear go for it. I ride a tiger 800

£16.95 to park, never again no live shows or independent food stalls and getting smaller every year. Birmingham is a horrible place and I'm a local. Avoid at all cost I am embarrassed to live here and have people visiting.

That’s exactly why we always go by bike! Extortionate parking prices for cars 😱 - it’s a shame - seems to have lost its character over the years - for us it’s really just a chance to meet people! 😀👍

I have been watching your presentations for a year now and every time I see Brian I ask myself "where do I know him from". You then mention "Corporate Trainers" and it clicked, he provided us with some training albeit many years ago. He told us a story about a bloke in his garage, spraying paint and suffered from headaches. Please tell me it's him Sue? Love the vids you both do, this ones a cracker.

@@suegibbons2508 Brilliant Sue. ACT in Oldbury West Midlands, about 1991. He also gave us a scenario where we were the Captain of a ship and how old was the Captain, he'll surely remember that, he made an impression on me then and still doing so now in our old(er) age. I only passed my test three days ago, spurred on by you pair and some of the commenters below (Steve Clark)
