Loz constantly delivers top notch bike reviews, there is humor, there is unbiased feedback, there is a practical approach to the whole review. Please, do more of this ! MCN should rent a paper factory for the amount of notes they could take from these bike reviews.
i've said it before and i'll say it again. your reviews are BY FAR the best bike reviews on youtube. i hope you guys can make them pay off and thus produce more of them.

Btw, Tuneboy just released a kit for the Diavel with enables electronic cruise control and allows remapping of the stock ECU without any piggybacked hardware like the Power Commander. I ordered a kit and will be doing custom mapping when the weather clears up.
I own a Diavel Carbon and have riddden the Hotham road on it. In stock form the Diavel suspension and rearsets will cause problems in really tight corners. I installed racing rearsets and custom springs and this thing handles far better than it should. It'll keep up with anything unless it's seriously twisty and your mate has a very light sports bike.
i dont think anyone told him about the seat that is under that rear hud, you stick the flob under that and a seat pops out, so that you can bring that girl with you, just look it up
Si - It's the Great Alpine Road over Mt. Hotham and it's one of the must ride roads of Victoria, along with the Black Spur, Reefton Spur, Great Ocean Road, Mansfield to Whitfield and a bunch of others. The good roads are a long way from Melbourne, but there's some sensational roads out there. Give us a shout if you're coming through and I might be able to show you round. :) Loz
Great review! Not only is this one top notch, but also all of your other motorcycle reviews. You should post more because the other two or three companies channels that review bikes are really insipid lately. I enjoy how you are not afraid to give a true opinion and not always saying the bikes are equal. Keep up the great work!
Fun and well done in every respect. Different that many other reviews with a respect that's infused with honest humor. And, it's mostly conducted in the saddle which is a big big plus.
The Diavel Strada version improves the seat issue immensely. But, I'm left in the showroom with that creepy feeling of tire availability. And, not just cost, but also the lack of any diversity in tires. Cruising sometimes does mean paving ends long before the road does. I'd never expect it to be an offroad bike, but I would like the option of a bit more aggressively treaded tire for that dirt road that you just know was rained on an hour before you got there. And for the room for them. And they would also look so damn good on a Diavel.
i use my bike in all weather conditions, the important thing is to ride more carefully in worse conditions, rain in general isnt that big of a problem if you have the right tyres, its only when it rains on hot ground that it becomes a slippery surface.
Yes! Just Yes! loved the Multistrada review and the Diavel review is great too. Go get the keys for every new release bike from here on in and keep it up! :D
Please never do that rap/singing thing at the end of this video again. LOL. ;) Seriously though, good review and thanks for the honesty on the handling. Everything else I'd read said it handled really well, so I'm guessing they were comparing it to traditional cruisers rather than being objective. I love Gizmag motorbike reviews. Keep 'em coming!
I bought mine a few months ago, and I have to agree about the seat - until, that is, you've had it for a while. For some reason, the padding just needs to be broken in. Now, I can ride all day without any "unpleasantness". Also, just set the preload adjuster to soft, and all will be well. Why a bike that costs this much, and that is otherwise so well thought out, needs to have its seat broken in, I have no idea, but hold off buying the touring seat - for a while. See how you feel.

Love the review, watched this and the one for the Multistrada. Have to say after riding the Diavel I felt like you guys did at the end of the Multistrada ride, I just wanted one ! It took me three days to recover some sanity (My sister actually asked what was wrong with me, apparently I was twitchy !!) Two things have stopped me thus far, 1/ being a lack of cruise control and 2/ being my need for handle bars that required less reach. Handle bars from the new strada should fix one issue but . .
Do you think Ducati are now following the likes of Triumph where they have around a 5 year cycle on engine development that filters through all their models? I'm really excited to see where they use the Panigale engine in the future and how a frameless design with look in something such as the monster or streetfighter.
Nice Review !!! Have the updates on the new 2014 Diavel addressed the issues as I notice it has a modified engine, new head-lamp and of course a totally new seat ?? !! Is there a smaller rear wheel / tyre option ?? !!
G'day mate. Nice review. Can you tell me what you thought of the gearbox? Aside from the stock seat the most unanimous negative feedback I've read all over the web is the gearbox giving false neutrals. Trying to decide the between Diavel Strada or the Multistrada Granturismo for my next bike (Diavel is a lot cheaper). Any opinion you have on that would be appreciated too! Thanks!
I get a little sick everytime you go to first person view while driving, the only time i was ever in europe i almost crashed multiple times while trying to drive on the right side of the road =/ besides for that I love your reviews
LOL!!! Carbon fiber on my... Why don't you just get a cab back to my place! WOW! That was funny as all get out. Thanks for the review it gave me another view point for this bike, I'm looking at picking one up but I think I'll stick with sport bikes until I can't ride anymore.
I don't remember having any false neutrals on either bike; I think they're very similar in that regard. Personally I think the Multistrada has a lot more going for it, it's much more flexible and useful in a much wider range of riding situations. I think the Diavel is a nice piece of arse jewellery but the Multi is a heaps better bike.
Have to say I agree with most of what your say. I took this bike on an hour long test ride and the motor and performance is awesome, but I don't know quite where it fits in. Not really a sport bike and not a cruiser either. With that said it's a whole lot of fun to ride, but I'm a touring rider and I don't see even there new touring version meeting that need adequately. Ducati already nailed it with the Strada so why this bike?

I have ridden all the twisties except mt hotham on my monster 620. I am a bit confused about diavel. The more I am in love with the looks, power and rear tire, the more I worry if I be able to handle it and catch up with my mates in the twisties? A few ride Busas, would this be not similar? 90% of the trip up to the winding roads is highways and wide corners, should I compromise ma love for diavel for the 10% winding roads.
one seat for 2 bums - standard The rear cowling is just for looks & can be removed in 60secs. Nobody ever mentions that for a pillion, the seating position is a class apart - enhanced with Ohlins
