My Bike was stolen a couple of weeks ago You can imagine how I felt Every time I hear a motorcycle passing by I check if it’s mine And just think where is my gun

I had my bike stolen once, I caught up with the guy and knocked him out and smashed his knees with a 5lb shop maul, he doesn't ride anymore since his kneecaps are powder.

As a gear head and a shade tree mechanic I also install a hidden electrical kill switch on the bike, tucked somewhere nice and unobvious. I do the same for my car as well. When you get off the bike just flick the switch and do whatever other anti-theft things you do, unless someone literally watched you for the kill switch it is unlikely that they will find it, but not impossible. A good place to put it is under a seat if you have seats that fold up and lock, or on a scooter inside the glove box. Other good places are underneath the rear fender or inside the battery case, but really you can put an unobtrusive switch spray painted to the same color as whatever area you are putting it almost anywhere tucked away.

remove clutch lever? why stop there. Remove both brake levers, gear lever, seat , spark leads and while your there, battery and engine.

Anecdote - friend's Ducati was stolen out of driveway. Van pulled up. 4 dudes took 2 poles through the wheels and lifted bike into van.

Bike prior to my current bike was stolen off my front lawn - they can't have ridden it away as the carburettor was inside the house in bits as I was cleaning it out.and hadn't put it back together. No insurance at all; cops sent the "we've looked for your bike but can't find it" letter dated the same day I made the report that it was stolen - nice to know it wasn't in the police station, I guess.

Not a motorcycle, but a friend of a friend in LA kept their bike locked up on their second floor balcony. While they were gone, someone managed to CLIMB UP from the outside and nabbed it. It seems like the vehicles that are targeted the most aren’t the high profile cars, but everyday stuff like bikes, something that’s common and not even worth a big amount in the grand scheme of things. Some college student who has a bike in the city probably has it because its all they have, and they can’t afford anything better. Thieves really are scum. They’re only limited by the risk of getting caught, so you really can’t be too careful.

the best theft prevention thing ive seen in bosnianbills "worlds toughest motorcycle lock" costs a fair bit but its practically unbeatable and cheaper than getting your bike knicked

Some guy knocked on my house door while i was at work and I think he was trying to see if he could steal my bike but found the doorbell and decided to act like he was just interested in if i was selling it. Definitely taking the clutch lever off right now.

You have great videos man...the very end of the video and your story, as funny as the story ISNT, its hilarious the way you tell it lol...you make a great connection with Craigslist and the opportunity it gives criminals to steal the bikes..people give their address on the internet for the world to see and its over, it's on there permanently...idk it just makes getting into the vlogging community worrisome..I've seen one of your accident analysis videos where literally with a 3 second video clip you like do some reverse crazy internet search to find the exact location of it and its crazy..just feeds to the paranoia all the more knowing people can do that and its not that hard...you have great videos tho bro I like the style!! Someone tried to steal my bike, i owned it for 2 months, cost me $250 for a new ignition, and another 50 to rekey it..

My bike got stolen a year ago. Was in my shop with a tractor in the door keeping it from leaving. I was moving and gone for about a week and came back to get another load of stuff. They had gotten almost all of my stuff and my harley was gone. It was local crackheads, we know from basically them admitting it, but nothing ever came of it. Police basically didn't do jack but take a report and give up, took 6 months to get prints ran and there were a lot of prints. All came back inconclusive somehow. I kick myself every day for not having it locked. Even though my shop was locked. They got in by getting my sliding doors (which were chained shut & locked to the frame of the shop and each other) opened away from the shop by prying on them with a piece of pipe just enough to squeeze in at the bottom. From there they got everything open like they owned the place and carried the bike around the tractor and drove it off. Then they shut everything up like no one was there and even locked everything back up. Basically no one will help you when this happens. Someone actually spotted the bike at walmart of all places and I drove over as fast as possible to see if I could lock it up and get the police over there. When I got there it was gone, and I wanted to check with security to see if they could find any info on the person. They told me absolutely not, only the police could. So I called the police and got told it isn't their job. I kept thinking, I wish you would say that if I found the punk and dealt with it myself, but we all know it would definitely be their job then. Insurance was a joke too (Progressive as well). My claims guy that I got initially was really nice and actually pretty helpful. I waited about 6 months to decide to go through with the claim hoping for a recovery, and he called me every week to check in. Well when I decided to go through with it I hadn't heard from him in a bit so I called and got someone else. They said he was no longer with the company and put me with someone else. This lady was b!tch and always called me John, even though I corrected her and all of my information clearly says my real name, which is nowhere near John. After about the 6th day of going in circles with her, I'm pretty sure I got her fired, and from their everything went smoothly. I got paid a decent amount for the bike in the end, but it had a ton of sentimental value because it belonged to my uncle and I planned to keep it til I die.

Nice XB with translucent plastic. I have an o8 XB12Scg same color. Also had 2 bikes stolen. Mounted flashing blue LED light at top of guage cluster. Use a small toggle switch to turn it on when parking next to other bikes.

The other option is to make sure you get a good deal on your bike. My bike is insured for double the amount of money I paid for it, so I consider that to be good anti loss insurance for myself at the very least!!

I have a 2019 Yamaha XSR in Florida in a not great neighborhood, therefore I am high risk based upon your stats. I have my bike in a locked Craftsman shed in my backyard with a Spotlight Ring Camera trained on it at all times. I would know if a raccoon took a piss on the shed let alone someone breaching our 6 foot tall surrounding fence that is also always locked. After I watched this video I went and checked on it out of sheer paranoia. Definitely thinking about getting another big ass chain inside of the shed however just in case they rip off the doors somehow or something crazy. Great video!

I'm rockin a ninja 500r that is 19 years old with 23k miles... Would anyone even want to steal that? These clips of thieves basically stuffing bikes into minivans got me freaked out. Living in an apt complex too. Only safety measure I've got are steering lock and a tarp covering it that would have to be cut off before the bike could roll anywhere.

Im scared by the end of this month i have to park my bike outside in nyc. But i bought 3 disc lock and a kryptonite chain the forgetaboutit chain. And a bike cover. Shit im still gonna buy 3 more locks.

I do not put my bike on steering lock. They will damage it anyway. What i do is placed “airtag” and remove the tiny speaker. And easily locate after

I just had my bike stolen and I recovered it myself by thinking offering cash on ads for info about it would intice the thieves for easy money. Worked as I got my bike back but cops refuse to prosecute, it was in the guys yard and they wouldn’t even get him on possession plus gave him his illegal tag back.. they destroyed my bike drilling through my ignition, seat lock and gas lock, burnt up my Michelin pilot 5 tire I just had on, spray painted it black including the cluster, tore off some of the plastics and rear seat handle, and cut off a $1000 exhaust for a $20 fake carbon slip on..

Buy theft insurance, park your bike inside your own locked garage or dont let your bike out of your sight, and carry a gun.

theoretically, if you could choose, where to leave your bike overnight: At a medium/high treffix location so many people see it, but also many people see it if someone tries something, or At a low/medium traffic locotion where not so many people see it but basically no one at nights when someones tries something

I will say, location does matter. Theft in rich, old, sleepy Naples, FL is much less likely than in Miami.

I believe I am a good or at least moral person. Yet seeing these disgusting lowlifes without any empathy or remorse tends to the worst and darkest part inside of me, which would be willing to sacrifice a lot just to inflict temporary but intense unpleasantness to these "humans". I'm still learning all the different things riders do to warn each other of hazards and stuff. Watching the canyon riders they are signaling bikes behind of what to expect ahead. I have always ridden alone and may soon go to a sunday arvo meet up/ride. I'm guessing I will be riding the slowest I ever have, just to allow for the less experienced and over keen riders who crash into others by mistake. But I am keen to meet some others of like mind as none of my other friends ride. Lucky I live in almost zero crime area and am rather blazaie' and casual about security. But living at the bottom of a hill means all above are looking down on you and what is going on at yours. I have been here so long everyone is pretty much trained not be be so silly to bring shit on our neighbourhood. An old friend now passed on had a father who gave him some sage advise when moving into a new neighbourhood. He said son, when you move in like we are you want to get the neighbours nervous and then keep em' that way. Word filters down to the young peckerheads/up and comers to leave your place alone as they may just get their arse kicked and will be begging for the police to save them. And that is after only meeting the rooster that is 3 feet tall and hungry all the time.

He was woke up at 5:00 am by police. The thief crashed about 2 blocks from his house with his bike. With injuries. Other goods were recovered from the house. Your sin will find you out.
