It takes my MG tour Pro over an hour to find a GPS signal. And if it does find a signal it loses it every 30 seconds so im not able to set it up like you described. Any suggestions? Im located in South NJ but have same problem when i go down to MD flats or up to Lake Champlain NY
@@briancooper7647 getting satellite connections is one key. I have tried to set mine up in some coves and had a hard time because I could not get a good light of sight from my unit. First I would make sure you are in an open and calm area. I would do a minimum of 3 times when calibrating your unit. Each time it will gather more info from different satellites. Once I have done that and it works, I then make sure to unplug every time I get off the water. I have been able to drive 300 to 400 hundred miles and the anchor mode is still pretty close to where I do not have to re calibrate it. Hope this helps
Xi series with Pinpoint - no M283 will not work… you need to remove the upper head cover and inspect the red/white wires. They should be twisted and routed like the images on MotorGuides website under Xi FAQs.
I just got off the phone with MG. Xi doesn't have some of the calibrations. if the motor has power but no satellite then it is either environmental or needs a reset and calibration. If the anchor is dropping and such then it could be ow voltage most likely or a bad board or gps. Go to motorguide.com and on the website there is a troubleshooting guide. Most issues with the Xi are power issues. Hope this helps. Bill
