Lol thanks for the shout out man that’s awesome. It’s starting to get warmer here now and been loving it cause it lets me get out there and enjoy the bikes way more.
@@motorizedbicyclenation53cu90 if your put a reed valve on and your not going insane with port work and timing I would recommend the smaller oz reed cause the size matters. You want a smaller volume of air as a whole. Also if your putting in a reed I would just do the windowed piston and you will be good. If your putting a timing wheel on it and going crazy with the port timing then you can benefit from a 3rd transfer, otherwise I think just oz reed and window piston.
My g2 reed valve with the same piston as you have and a sbp expansion chamber exhaust hit 46.30 mph on a 40t sprocket. Same head with a 3rd transfer port. Just gasket/port matched everything. Pz20 carb with a #90 jet. Gonna put 36t just to see if can touch 50 mph
Permatex gasket maker works great for sealing any air leaks on these guys. Especially when working with reed valves and the cheap stock carbs with the metal cuts in the flange that you mentioned
The G2 reed setup with a 23mm OD intake and a VM18 Mikuni is the way to go with these little motors, you'll get a lot more low end. Mine pulls a 32T all day long with that setup. Love what you've done with the YD100 by the way. I won't use one because of the 1 piece jug. Love your videos, keep it up
I've also heard the boyesen #693 KX65 reeds will direct fit on the G2 cage as an upgrade, haven't tried it myself yet but you may want to look into it.
I just ordered the same reed but with a 23mm inlet and I'm thinking about making a case reed with it😁. And YES reeds definitely work even the little Rse reed valve worked good for it's size, here is a quick tip you can sand the reed valve pedals to make them open easier but too thin will hurt the higher RPM revability. 🚴🏻♂️💨💨💨
Sand them? I have loosened the screws a 1/4 turn on 1 sometimes both reeds to allow more flow, but haven't learned about this sanding them. Thank You... I will look into this more.
Hi just go and search scooter reed paper .and order some .3mm and cut your own.I build RC engines for a living and that’s what I do .have fun great channel
Yes in the Zenoah engines this is the clip style we used we made a tool to install them but they were a beast to get out Thank you very much and thank you for watching
@@KevinTodd yeah it wasn't easy to install I had to use a center punch & luckily I got strong hands. I'm interested in the tool that helps for next time I install? What kind of tool did you make that helps with installation, I would like to make one too but I'm not too sure what it is?
The Malossi Minarelli reeds fit, but they're a bit narrower. You have to really fiddle with them to get them in just the right spot since you have maybe .5mm tolerance to work with. I ended up sanding the coating off of the stock carbon fiber reeds, and that helped a huge amount.
My personal experiences were with a horizontal minarelli, I discovered through hours of scouring the Yamaha and jog clone boards, the boyesen dual stage reeds and let me tell you, they are everything they claim. Very important with any reed set up, use a light to check and make sure your reeds sit flush on your cage, all three sides, remove the reeds and block plane the cage with fine emery untill they do. Love your channel, keep up the great work!
I run the reed your using your not light guy like me the Window in the piston is way to big you will have no bottom end at all use unwindow piston or alot smaller like just the size the stock port this will make it so you dont need to push it down low
How much cleanup is required when you mill the 3rd transfer port in? Just a little softening of the edges? Also, how far up did you take it? Even with the other transfers? Thanks!
I wanted to ask how much you like the yd100? I have the phantom 85 on my new bike and the zeda 66/80 on my spare bike but now that they make the zeda 80/100 in a two piece cylinder I've been thinking about getting it for my spare bike and see if I can sell the zeda that's on it. I'll be able to get a high performance head for it and some other performance parts and you can't do too much with the one piece cylinder
I'm just getting into the Reed valve section of the 2 stroke world 🌎 , I guess because it's a new engine I can't really tell the difference between the G2 setup and the piston setup... Maybe the power will come later after I have broken in the new engine... I have noticed that I go alot faster on that bike but I don't notice a change in the torque, love to hear your thoughts on that Kevin..
my stock Zeda80cc motor is pretty fast over 30mph and at those speeds I am more worried about my weak bike breaks tires rims etc then wishing more power....I have 3 motorcycles for more power. My point is there is no need to get more power out of these engines if the plantform is weak bike skeleton
Cylinder Piston Ring Gasket Top End Kit for Suzuki LT A50/JR50/LT50 11210-04012-0F0 WILLLL THIS WORK SIR OR NOW WHAT U THINK I THINK I NEED TO NO THE FARE A OPART STUDS R
Thanks, Kevin for making these videos. I am especially happy that you just play around with parts. I do the same, but wish there were more videos about reed valves... Kevin to the rescue!!! Keep the rubber side down!
Thank you very much and thank you for watching and I'm doing a reed setup but right now I'm remolding the last room in my house it will be my studio so to speak stay tuned a lot coming soon
Love your videoes im porting mine now. By eye from your videoes n my bike flyes. Yd 100 45 pilot 95 main, pwk 21. Cr80 expansion fmf silencer. Racing cdi n coil. 32 tooth rear sprocket i get 43 mph topps i want more!!!! Help lol
Good job bro nice video!!! . I got mine tuned in so good right now without dio reeds !! Damn so ill get a powerband in high fpm when i install this and window piston??
