This video is just a quick demonstration of my new (to me) Motorola Bluetooth RSM I purchased to use with my APX 6000/7000 radios. This is not a sponsored video and Motorola did not provide this device to me.
Question: Would it be possible to pair both the Bluetooth RSM and a Motorola Bluetooth PTT button (Motorola Part Number WP300) to the radio at the same time? What would happen when the Bluetooth PTT button is pushed? Would it key open the RSM or would key open the mic on the radio? Anyway to test this?
I don't believe connecting more than one Bluetooth device at once is supported. You can choose how audio is routed through Bluetooth accessories in CPS
what do you mean you need to pair it everytime you turn it on ?? after turning on both the radio and the mic, it doesnt connect automatically ?? do I need to go to settings and do it every single time ???
This is public safety equipment designed for a public safety environment where multiple shifts may exchange radios or equipment, so this design makes sense in that environment. Yes, it is necessary to take 5 - 8 seconds to connect the Bluetooth RSM to your APX radio upon power up. No, you do not need to go to Settings every time. As shown in the video, you simply power on the RSM and ensure Bluetooth is enabled and turned on and you can pair the radio with the RSM and use it.
If you go into APX programming you can force the APX to always reconnect. Once they’re both paired, if it’s programmed to force reconnect, anytime the Bluetooth accessory and the radio are powered on they’ll auto reconnect and no need to pair.
You need to power on the RSM while holding the PTT button down. It will verbally prompt you to choose a language. Press the PTT to select the language you want.
Sorry, I couldn't even tell you what the flash code is. I don't show BT anywhere in the settings you can scroll through but know several people from my agency run them. Is this something I need our tech department to program in?
