Thanks, great video. One reviewer mentioned that he submerged the phone in water for 25 minutes and it still worked. Maybe with the strong adhesive this phone is fairly close to ip67 or ip68? My biggest worry would be the top headphone jack taking on water, but I guess you could always snap in a headphone jack cover to protect it. Cheers :)
Thanks, and you're welcome. Yea the adhesive definitely plays a role in it. They advertise it as splash proof, but sometimes companies don't want to spend the extra money to get the ip rating certification so they wont advertise it as such but yea not sure if 100% it will be able to take on full loads of water. It's possible the headphone jack and earpiece or speaker can go bad after being in contact with water but the phone has some water resistant features (gaskets etc.).
Thanks, great work taking it apart & now if my phone gets damaged i know how to disassemble it. This phone has a great build quality ! Not looking forward to taking this phone apart. Love these types of video's, i took apart my huawei g7 a few years ago to replace a dead battery. need to take apart my sony xperia xa1 cause the rear cam doesn't work but looks hard to get that case off.
Thank you, I appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed the video. Seems the xa1 might have a bit more stronger adhesive but not sure. With enough heat should come off without too much trouble.
Great video. I dropped and broke my screen. It would no longer respond to touch I replaced the screen and now it works like new. Only after I put it back together and sealed did I find out that the sound and microphone no longer work. So today I put in a brand new OEM speaker assembly. Still no sound. I'm pretty sure that I got all of the connections back. Any suggestions? I would really like to get this phone working again. I have 4 of them. 2 blue, 2 Sangria.
The device is very solid. I do agree whatever glossy primer coating is in the metal frame it's really bad as it feels like plastic. And the display isn't the greatest for $1,000. It has a noticeable gritty texture which is especially visable on white backgrounds ( which could be the result of it being 2340x1080 ) and the display is very cool color temp wise which also isn't my favorite. Other that that this device is all around solid and a step in the right direction for motorola.
yea its solid, been using it for a while. Although I hate the on screen finger print reader due to it being much slower than physical ones I have been using in the past and not having a dedicated on screen back button, it seems to be a very good device thus far.
I got my Moto Edge+ a few days ago and hadn't gotten a case yet, and while cleaning the gutters on the roof, the phone fell out of my pocket face down and the screen is cracked. I check Ubreakitfit and they don't have the parts. Why didn't I leave my new phone at the desk while working. Oh, the regrets.
You can always send it in to motorola to have them replace the screen, not sure how much they charge. They also have advanced exchange which they ship you out a phone first and you ship your damaged one to them after.
You would have to disassemble it as far as removing the motherboard so you have access to the screen cable which is ran through the slit in the midframe. If you are replacing the frame and screen combo together, you would need to disassemble the whole thing so you move all your parts to the new frame assembly.
Talk all you want. Motorola did a great job to produce this flagship for just 1000 bucks. The headphone jack is lovely to have. I don't care about packaging that I'm throwing away anyway.
I'm not saying they did a terrible job, but I just expected more since they usually do a better job on packaging and presentation on their regular line of devices. They even had better packaging and presentation on their moto z4 line which was less than half the cost of the edge+. Aside from that, they did a good job with all the copper inside the phone.
My Motorola Edge Plus 2020, a treasured keeper of memories, lies broken. The charging port's failure threatens to erase my past. My late mother's smiling face, her final goodbye, and tears are trapped inside. Nigeria's scarcity of repair parts deepens my despair. Time is running out; my memories are dying. Please, PBK reviews, revive my lifeline and restore my heart. Save my mother's memory; save me from eternal sorrow."
Does that bottom part you called "speaker assembly" 7:32 supposed to make sound? I don't recall if I ever heard sound from it, but after replacing my charging port there's no sound from it. The phone does vibrate. I suppose I'm asking how does that part connect to the phone. I don't see any connectors, nor did I disconnect any cables to it. I'm usually on headphones anyways but I would like to know if I messed it up so I can know to fix it if I ever decide to replace the battery. The top speaker works. The one near the camera.
Thanks. You would need to replace the sub board. You would need this part but its out of stock, you can also search it up on google or other sites like ebay. www.mobiledefenders.com/motorola-repair-parts/other-motorola/moto-edge-xt2061/charge-port-assembly-for-moto-edge-xt2061-motorola-authorized.html
I messed up the power flex cable connector on board. Does it need to be soldered to board? Instead of pulling up on white part I pulled on black piece. Now lcd does not turn when I charge it. Since power button flex isnot connected will this prevent lcd from turning on when I charge it?
I bought this phone last montg in India and from day 1 I have network reception issue and worst wifi signal issue.. later even the MIC stopped working.. other end caller can't hear my voice but if I switch to speakerphone they can here.. the phone being one moth old I demand a replacement of entire unit.. but motorola refusing to replace...and they want to replace the hardware :( I don't know whether it's good idea to replace the hardware.. will it create other issues? Like in your video the display was not working after ressembling back.. what's your opinion? Pls advise
Is it motorola direct or a random mom and pop shop? Because if its motorola themselves, they have all the tools and parts and usually send out a replacement device not the same one you send in. And if it is the same one, they usually replace all the parts and make it look and work as new. I have used many replacements from motorola over the years, and they have all worked fine for me but not sure if motorola USA will be the same as other country motorola outlets.
Most of the time the coaxial cables are used for antenna connections and sometimes related to other things like charging or for example in some of the black shark phones for the gaming trigger buttons.
They are usually used for antenna connections. Make sure your sub board/charger port board is seated properly as well as the speaker assembly and all cables are connected.
I guess its a matter of opinion, I prefer the metal feel for the frame compared to a glossy plastic feel. I also really liked the soft touch suede like feel some of the phones had way back in the day. Haven't seen any of those type around for a while.
Great video. I shattered the corner of the screen and mine would no longer respond to touch. I put in a new screen and it works like new. Only problem now is that the sound and microphone don't work. Today I put in a new speaker assembly, but still no sound. Any suggestions? I'd like to get this phone working again.
The Achilles heal of most Lenovorola phones is the 📷 department. They have always lacked in this area. If the day comes when they can compete with the pixal, 🍎 & Sammy then I would consider. After a gudzillion videos & reviews I think once again they have come up short in the 📷 area? I use Verizon, so will I consider this edge+, NAH! Very good review?
David, I encourage you to give this phone a try. I switched over from a Note 10+ because I have enjoyed the better size of the edge+, and the photo quality is stunning in most day to day conditions.
I have one of these that I broke front and back glass and was told that I need to replace the frame or else it will have messy glue when put together Is this true if so could I get a link to a frame I already have both glasses
Do you have the screen or just the glass because you can't replace just the glass its not user replaceable. The screen and glass are fused and it requires special tools and machines to separate them. You would need something like this that comes with the frame pre attached with the screen as well (since it will make replacing the screen a whole lot easier than having to apply adhesive to the screen and frame) www.ebay.com/itm/374070260364?hash=item571853328c:g:80gAAOSwcC9ie98w&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoD6fGZRc2LTHsM6IVckoraxaJATA70dIUlimSM9xvaQ0yXxkLtQshyDjaC%2B1rOB1Zfe%2BufKHd6LPzzuU33d1zjDNBCPmed6G9MyHkhIMDxsSQhmPYKjg0c2PBWWLYb94E4vJfEzwomg2HDs1xBzJ7f0tWe9lwOyezjGcZ%2F4Z2D3lCLLjnAcp5WPH7HTtzZSn5qFMLcQyLbc9UFd0eMeeG2g%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR67j5rT6YA or you can find just the screen with glass assembly and other replacement parts for this phone at this website: www.mobiledefenders.com/motorola-repair-parts/other-motorola/moto-edge-xt2061.html
Yes, a hair dryer works just fine. You can get original parts for this phone here: www.mobiledefenders.com/motorola-repair-parts/other-motorola/moto-edge-xt2061.html
@@PBKreviews it’s a great website but they’re asking 50$ shipping fee (I live in Canada) do you know any other website with the same quality parts for Canadian market
@@AraOGTheServantoftheMostHigh oh, hmm not sure you would need to search up those parts I guess on ebay or elsewhere. I'm not behind the computer at the moment to look it up.
Sir please tell all the things slowly don't drag like American accent,ie zack says everything slowly and firmly that it can be understood by anyone internationally, don't forgot that you will be having international subscribers also....... Just a suggestion.....
I accidentally stuck a paper clip in the speaker hole instead of the SIM hole. Guess I shouldn't have tried to put the SIM in while In a dimly lit room. Is there anything you can damage by sticking the paper clip in the microphone hole?!?!? @pbkreviews
try using a size larger screw driver. If it doesn't help, you will need to use a drill with a drill bit small enough to fit inside the screw head to drill into it so you can break off the screw heads that are stripped.
All batteries have a rated capacity and a typical capacity. Under the rated of 4700 you can see it says 5000mAh. Basically the battery is a 5000 mAh and but they don't guarantee the full capacity even though you might be getting the full capacity (sort of say). So they show the rated capacity of the battery on there which is what you will get on a constant basis over time but the 5000 mAh is not a sustained amount you would be getting possibly so hope this sort of answers your comment.
really appreciate what you are doing bro . this is my dream phone . I dont have enough money to buy this so i was thinking that please i will be very happy if you can give away this phone if it is still laying around i will fix it and i will be very greatful for your kindness..LOve Hamit
