What do you need to do just to replace the battery.
@PBKreviews

You would need to remove the back plate, remove the screws on top plastic cover and remove the cover, disconnect the battery cable, use isopropyl alcohol to get a few drops around the battery and let it sit for a minute to get under the battery and eat away at the adhesive, then gently pry the battery off with plastic pry tools

@@PBKreviews wow dude super fast response! so yea i saw that the "assembly" on the site. is that all i would need? like i follow all the steps through in your video then i pry off the screen, feed the new cord through and attach it. Then, this is where my confusion is, fit the screen assembly to the midframe?
@PBKreviews
@PBKreviews 3 года назад
@@kingsoradical5475 if you are getting the screen assembly, then you dont need to pry the screen off your old midframe. All you do is take the backplate off and take all the parts from your old phone frame and place them on the new frame with screen assembly. Since the screen comes pre attached to the frame, you move the parts like the board, vibrator motor, earpiece speaker etc all over to the new frame with screen attached and just re assemble. Much easier than having to pry the old screen off and apply new adhesive for the screen. Also you will need new pre cut adhesive to re apply the backplate which that website also has. :)

Thanks for posting this very informative vid' on how to access the interior of the smartie' . Definitely not so simple to get in LoL I started looking, as I have broken 3mm pin stuck in the headphone jack. Of course powered off, have so far tried using fine tweezer, but they close previous to really gripping the pin. Still need time to try with a bit of thick material approx. diameter of the pin inserted btwn the points hoping it keeps the tweezers open till either side. Also tried a bit of 'gorilla tape' inserted in the now broken female end of the jack insert, but it just wasn't strong enough oooor maybe pulled back too soon (just thought of that, maybe try again LoL ) But the jacks do tend to 'clik' into place so maaybe require micro vise-grips LoL Luckily can still record, hear ph. conversations,... just media audio recording/you'tube that can't be heard, except thru a bluetooth spkr. which luckily I had acquired over a yr. ago from city surplus dept., so finally initialized it 🙂 Hope ya good'un.

Hi, you will need to use either pre cut adhesive strips which are made for the phone or if ones are not available you can use 300LSE or other smartphone adhesive strips that you can cut down to size. Fortunately there are adhesive strips available for this phone, here is a link to an original one www.mobiledefenders.com/adhesive-back-cover-for-moto-g-fast-xt2045-authorized-oem.html

Excellent teardown! Clean, clear, and plenty of extra detail! A couple questions: Is it possible to replace just the glass without opening up the back (LCD and digitizer work fine)? Do you know if all the XT2045 models use the same glass? E.g., will XT2045-1 (Moto G8) glass (only) work? And do you know a good source for the glass and whatever adhesive is needed? Mobile Defenders doesn't list it, and they're out of stock on the whole display assembly.
@PBKreviews
@PBKreviews 3 года назад
Thank you. The glass is not user replaceable, requires special tools and machines to get it done right and usually oem factories are the only ones who would be able to do that job properly. Sign up for notice from mobile defenders so they notify you when its in stock again. Usually when they see someone is interested, they will restock soon.

Friend just dropped this off for battery replace, and unbelievably tough just getting rear cover off. Obviously this beast is nothing like my LG v20 that just pops off. Luckily I used credit card to go along edge to release the glue strip which was a surprise to begin with.. Then to see battery is glued in. Ok, we better seek a pro version of how this is supposed to go. wOw, Thanks Hugely on such precise surgery, and notes of sources for the device. Hi, I replied to your other comment explaining a bit. For the battery, you would need to apply some heat from a hair dryer from the screen side to loosen up the adhesive under the battery or use isopropyl alcohol. Read my other comment for more details.

Make sure not to warp or bend the battery or pierce it, or else that can happen. You can also use isopropyl alcohol to apply some around the edges of the battery and let it sit for 30 seconds so it gets under the battery and loosens up the adhesive to make it easier to pry off. @@PBKreviews Thanks! I accidentally walked into a pool with my phone. It was only in there for maybe 20-30 seconds, which I realize is a lot. I swapped the battery but it still doesn't work. You wouldn't happen to have any idea why it's not working still, would you? I'd simply like to get the data (contacts/pics/memos) off of it, but that seems unlikely now. There's a 6-variety-pack of sauce (that I produce) in it for you if you can help me extract that info.

I found a digitizer on Amazon for $32. If I pay for the digitizer and I send you my phone how much will you charge me to replace it?
@PBKreviews
@PBKreviews 2 года назад
Hi, you cant replace only the digitizer. It's fused with the screen so you would need to replace the entire screen assembly. Only factories with special tools and machines can replace just the glass. You can order a complete screen assembly with pre installed frame from this website : www.mobiledefenders.com/motorola-repair-parts/g-series/g-fast-xt2045.html . Also you would need the pre cut adhesive (back cover) to re apply your back cover to the phone. So basically with the screen assembly with frame combo, you take all the parts like the board, battery, speaker etc from your old frame and place in in the new frame. I don't do repair services, plus even if I did, it would not be worth the cost to cover shipping both ways, and the labor etc would be cheaper to just take it to a repair shop near you.
