I have never disagreed with anything from motorweek more than their statement about the 3rd row seats - having owned 2 of these, I can confirm D3/4 3rd row seating is superior to literally any other 3 row SUV. Theyre amazingly comfortable, especially for 3rd row seats.
I have one too and the third row is the roomiest third row ive ever sat in. drastically more leg room than any suburban or land cruiser ive ever been in.
"While the available 3rd row seats are useless except for small children" Say what? That is the first time I have heard that criticism. Most reviews (and my personal experience) indicate that adults up to 6ft should fit in just fine.
Lord Satsuma I love my lr3. It has never left me stranded. All Land Rovers are high maintenance. I've taken mine to the dealer for all check ups and its fine. A few wearable parts have been replaced. Just recently I had to replace an air conditioning line. The air suspension is great and holding up well. I liked the lr3 because it has buttons and the lr4 not as much. I will eventually upgrade but my lr3 is strong and in great shape.
