Way to drive smart! . Start small , work your way up to higher CC's . The first vid I saw of yours ,you said " always want the front brake to grab first " . Not true , back wheel locks , no diving over handlebars! Just a skid mark like the one I left in the can after my coffee this morning !💩 learn the basics on a small engine ( this one is PeeWee ) . You're on the right track . BTW ; your bike is super quite and very smooth. And it looks great . What type of frame? Thanks Peter and Man they drive slow in your town ,State!!!
if your trying to find a good way to mount your tank still hit the dollar store & pick up some double sided tape the car body moulding kind that has red plastic on it & clear when you take the red off its awsome & rubbery it sticks very well with light metal straps around the frame to the tank
Too much haha, I have probably $1400 or more spent on it not including hours, but you could definitely do something similar for less. But the bare minimum is 350 for the bike,150 for the engine, 40 for the reed valve, 25 for the carb, 60 for the head, 80 for the pipe, 30 for the CDI, 225 for the jackshaft. That's around the basics, not including all the aesthetic stuff and other upgrades I did.
thats a pretty nice set up. I've built a lot of these. but haven't tried the shift kits yet. seems like you it set up very well. it sound like it shifts just like it should.
I just built one today. in a Kawasaki scheme. I'm running the pk80. I can't wait til its fully broke in. I've got it set up with a 38 tooth sprocket. I'm sure once the power band is able to kick in. it'll run at least 45.
Yes I am, a jackshaft, a $10 wally world derailleur, and the Fito's stock cassette. If you line everything up and tune the cassette well, you can shift as smooth as a motorcycle.

@@Jonj57 I watched all your videos on your bike 24 inch rims right? How Manny gears donu know what size or how Manny teeth your sprockets have on the rear? What gear switcher do u use or is it a twist shift.
@@lllllsp1d3rlllll it was 1.75x24 rims with 3 in wide tires. I used a shimano twist shifter with a walmart derailleur. You can see that in my derailleur replacement videos
Get a welding kit and a REALLY REALLY tough rear wheel. Everything will need to be custom and it probably wont be cheap. Oh and go steel frame so you can weld and gusset it easily.
die basically. Even the 200cc motors are known for ripping hubs off the rim. You need to build a 1000cc bike from the ground up to make it safe. Honestly As soon as you start getting into the 45+ mph territory on these bikes you're pushing limits bicycles weren't meant to reach. Get a motorcycle for big motors and just enjoy these for the small nimble bikes that they are.
Jonj57 damn poor bicycle. hmm how do you build a a custom 300cc motorcycle? I’m thinking you’d need to have a lot of knowledge with working on the frames and welding and stuff. Guess I’ll just have to buy one lol.
If you have money anything can be done, and with 300cc you can get away with building your own in relative safety as long as you keep your limits in mind and don't fool yourself into thinking you're going to be blitzing down the road at 100 on a homemade tube welded frame. That being said, it's FAR FAR easier and safer to buy an 80's bike with a steel frame and modify that to your style. All of the hard work is done for you, you just have to tweak it to your liking.
Depends on use, normal riders who aren't looking to push limits and blow motors around 7-8cc heads are fine, you can buy them or shave down the original heads which arent bad actually, just dont overheat them and you're golden. I use a fred head for heat dissapation.
Nah, I'm licensed but I don't have the registration sticker. You need to submit 2 papers, one saying you were the builder and another to register it as a scooter. Cost like 40? They give you a stick for 2 years of riding.
hey im also in ma. has the law ever given you any shit for your bike? i own one but i havent had that much time riding it because it like to break alot

Would take a lot. I built that bike over about a year. I had a Fito Modena GT 2 for the bike and some generic ebay motor, but if I were to do it again I'd go with a Zeda Big bore kit and a jackshaft from sick bike parts.
mark kasper both are correct, it only matter which one you say if you care about the biker image, I don't I just ride drive and build shit because it makes me happy
