NO LIVE CONCERT VIDEOS in this series - it's a road movie shot by me when I'm NOT playing, to give you a taste of our touring life off stage. This was shot by me, Morgan Fisher, on my Chinese DJI Osmo Pocket camera, and quickly edited on a Mac. Made in the same spirit with which I made "Mott in America" back in 1974, only this time with sound!
Contents:
0:10 Drive from Cleveland to Glenside PA
0:32 Ariel Bender talks about mad pianist Freddie Fingers Lee (Ian Hunter played bass for him in the early 60s)
1:09 Ariel talks about Screaming Lord Sutch and Richie Blackmore
2:26 Morgan surveys huge US trucks as Dennis Dibrizzi fills up
3:24 Ian chatting in a truck stop, about truck stops
4:25 Back on the road, Paul Page talks about our route
5:32 Morgan relives The Shining in the Hilton in Fort Washington, PA!
6:46 Blues jam by Ariel and Jim Mastro at our soundcheck in the Keswick Theatre, Glenside, PA
8:25 Sound and lighting desks for the show
9:13 Ian gets his portrait taken backstage by Dennis Dibrizzi. Ariel and Morgan join later
11:24 Morgan and friend Linda Pitmon, wife of support band Dream Syndicate's leader Steve Wynn, and drummer of Peter Buck's band Filthy Friends
11:40 on the road to Boston. Steve Holley talks about how he joined Wings
13:37 Ariel on Linda Eastman photographing Spooky Tooth
13:56 More from Steve on Wings
14:26 Ariel and Morgan re Spooky Tooth "Ceremony" album

That was great thanks Morgan! We’ve taken many family road trips. If I ran into Mott at a rest stop I think I’d surely keel over.

.....Those conversations in the tour van.....priceless pieces of historical narration....priceless. Chatting about their times and experiences when rock music was new, exciting and experimentational. Fantastic viewing guys! Thank you!

Ian with the Air force jacket on. Fly the friendly skies? Not so much as riding in a Mercedes Benz van for hours on end to play for the fans of your band! I was wanting to play my strat guitar on that blues tune with Ariel and Jim 🎸🎼 ALL THE WAY FROM MEMPHIS- Awesome playing by Ian on piano. Great songwriting. I wish your band could be regulars in Vegas for a few weeks and not be traveling so much. 🎶🎷🎹Keep Rockin and I hope to see you play again; it's only been since 1976 since I saw Mott the Hoople play live.

Morgan...great job showing the friendly warm side of Mott The Hoople 74. The reunion worked because everyone fit perfectly into their roles with you, Ian and Ariel. That was obvious at the Beacon show with Ian the master of ceremonies and you and Ariel playing your important role as well as the Rant Band. It was cool listening to Steve talk of his time with McCartney too. It was a reunion tour that absolutely worked across the board from start to finish. The personalities involved worked out beautifully. Everyone on stage was actually enjoying one and other and having fun making music. Some reunions you have nothing in sinc and everyone doing solos all at the same time but Mott "74 was an amazing success and I hope you guys do more shows sooner than later.

Thanks so much, Morgan. Feels like we're on the bus (with Ariel riding shotgun, as usual). Mott '74 at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside, PA, was religious, mannnn ...

Wonderful Morgan, please keep this coming and I'll still buy the DVD when you've finished it. Love the mentions of Freddie Fingers Lee. I was a fan of his in the late seventies long before I knew of the Ian Hunter connection. I saw him live several times at The Royalty, Southgate, the Wope and Hanchor and again in Malvern in the late eighties.

'tastic mini documentary . Saw Mott at the Appollo / or maybe the Free Trade Hall M/cr. in 1974. Twice , 1st time the support act was a new up and coming band called Queen. 2nd time it was Leo Sayer. Ian told me off for whistling instead of clapping after one number ( a long fingers in mouth whistle! ). Bad move Ian,tha whole audience joined in! 😂 My claim to fame! Thanks Mott.

This combination of Ariel Bender, Morgan and Ian along with Steve Holley and the entire Rant Band just clicks! It works because everyone is comfortable in their roles and supports and likes each other too. Most reunions do not go this well and feature everyone doing solos at the same time with little chemistry but Mott '74 was a smashing success because you had the right personalities in place to create this situation that rarely goes this well.
