"looking forward to when I'm 40..." And now he's coming up to 84 and still going strong!

He released the awesome 'You're Never Alone With A Schizophrenic' album when he was 40 so yeah, he sure wasn't kidding when he said that.

And not much later, Mott was history. And a prolific solo career was born. Ian is the genuine article.

I was really upset when I heard they broke up in December '74...but we got two great albums in '75 with his first solo plus "Mott-Drive on"...but really wish he woulda stayed with MTH !

Ian is one of the GREATEST rockers that most people have never heard of. A true ROCK GOD!!!
@ronnieboucherthecrystalcraftsm
as a young kid in the 1960`s i wanted a musical base in my life - became a roadie - then a singer did a lot and at 67 i am so glad i did get and take a chance - still love guitars and music and singing = rock n roll is a wide field - keep your faith and perform to your audience .

What month is this ... anyone know...?...he talks about the live album being ready which was released in November '74..They'd be only together until December and it would all be over for Mott the hoople...shame ...!

Who knows...I'm sure they're friendlier now...but I read that he wanted Ariel out and had the other band members kick him out of MTH so he could get Ronson in...which he did at the end of the year...
