I show how I create a mottling effect with the use of a tweezered sponge.
The holes are nice and random and give a really good effect for newborns.

@xocoolchickxo - not recommended as it can eat the vinyl. I have a paint remover available on my website.

Iv been painting reborn boy kit and im completly happy with his colouring but i would like him a bit more brown like more tan what colours would you recommend ? would i just mix burnt umber with flesh 07 and just do a couple coats ? Thanks in advance :)

when mottleing , for every reborn do you just use red ? and lets say you were painting a baby which is going to have a strawberry complexion or peaches and cream would you give her a red mottle of would it be a different colour ?

You said to bake it in your home oven but I have read others saying not to use your home oven. Which one is true? I just ordered my 1st baby and want to get it right! Thanks for showing the tricks so clearly.

If you are afraid of having to bake Genesis Heat Set paints you can use Real Effects Air Dry paints and you will not have to bake them. ;)

Oh and... (sorry for so many comments on this video LOL) Is this process used instead of capellaries? Or do you do both capellaries AND mottling? And if you use both, Im guessing mottling is before capellaries?

Could I please ask where you get your paints as I might be buying paints over in America because that's all I can find.. I know that you are Australia so am I so I'm looking for paints like yours in Australia?
