Whenever I have family and/or friends visit Colorado, I always suggest taking a drive up to Mount Evans. As long as you can handle the elevation and can visit between June - August, you’re in for a treat. Whether you want to take a scenic drive, hike, ski, climb, or simply enjoy nature, Mount Evans is the place to do it!
Get your timed entry ticket online at recreation.gov and check out what beautiful Colorado has to offer!
Side note regarding my video: I did not entice the bighorn sheep to come near me in any way, I did not attempt to pet any of them, and I did not have any food on me nor anything other than a camera and phone for that matter. Perhaps they recognized that I’m a fellow ram (Aries)…jk. 😂 I’m not sure why, but everywhere I go, most animals are atttacted me. Even when I work up at W.O.L.F. I’ve had the most timid wolves approach me and one even kiss me! You have to be cautious around wildlife, but it’s also quite easy to read an animal’s body language. Pay attention to what animals are saying (is their body tense, look at their position, are they making noises, are they “squaring up with you”, what are their eyes saying) and RESPECT them. Never follow animals, let them follow and show interest in you. Don’t ever attempt to approach, touch nor feed wildlife please! Be safe and always keep your eyes peeled when out in nature, you never know what you’ll come across (especially in Colorado).
