1:29 The raised driver position also saves space inside, as you have only one driver position with windows on all sides. 2:21 Ree modeles does French prototype only 2:53 Basically the French take on the 'Umbauwagen' concept, these are re-bodied cars on chassis of the 1920's 3:26 That one is the X3800 / Picasso, the bigger brother of the one at the start 5:53 You missed the Crosti boiler locomotive there 6:21 These can be fitted with a DCC decoder, and some people managed to put speakers in it as well. You do miss the trick the real thing used... the coupling is designed to lift up the car that is shunted to allow its weight to rest on the locomotive to help in adhesion 17:24 front to back, left to right -> V100 Ost, the most common branch line locomotive in the GDR. Br243 (now known as a 143), which was the latest thing to come from the LEW Henningsdorf factory just before German Reunification). 2nd row -> Br119 / 229 U-Boot in DB red, 3 axle V180 in DR scheme 19:17 These were released at the 90 year jubilee of the first Rheingold service. The 'cheap' is cheap by Brawa standards. The additional parts are retracted corridor connections and a bunch of stuff that only works on static display 21:46 The actual historic events are as follows: Epoch 2 starts at the formation of the DRG (about 1920), Epoch 3 starts at the formation of DB (but is usually set to start at the end of WW2), Epoch 4 is the introduction of the new numbering system, Epoch 5 is the 'square logo' era which starts in 1991 Some companies did offer Epoch 5 logos to put on Epoch 4 vehicles, Epoch 6 is the current one and is mainly identified by another UIC numbering system change that now includes country prefixes. 22:19 That is a VT137 series railcar in the branchline variant (there were also ones without a corridor connection with different engines). Vehicle classification is really complicated for this type of cars as these were originally categorized by name (this one being a 'Stettin') with the numbers being applied later. 23:10 One of the three types of control cars that were made for these. The edgier version is the only one in service today, as that has universal controls for both electric and diesel 23:24 Roco had opening doors on the 'M-wagen' but only ones with the older door type as those are way easier to work with compared to the later door shape (video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IL9fWXFr0r0.html). Marklin did have a 648 with video doors that showed passengers stepping out of the train but that was a very custom setup (video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-J36ldPNiMsI.html) and prone to failure of the backlight 24:10 These are delegated to heritage service now but still in limited operation after 102 years. You can ride these on the Mariazell railway in Austria 26:13 Those are often rebuilt with Weinert whitemetal parts to match the exact prototype. Even though these were a catalog product every railway ended up with their own custom versions over time. 26:42 This one is still in working order for special events at the HSB. HSB is the only German railroad that offers scheduled steam trains as public transit 27:35 All the track gauges together, HOm runs on TT track, HOe on N track

Hello Pauline and Rick, because I model continental ho railways I have always want to go to this guys exhibition, so thanks very much. Now you can see the types of models I buy, not very often, because of the cost. My most recent was a Marklin ice 2 set from a starter set, digital sound etc and that was around £150. Keep them coming Harry

Nice to see this exhibition. Although most of the layouts are silent, the lack of sound doesn’t mar it.

You show continental stuff and I try to evade continental stuff🤣 But yes, there is some really good and od continental stuff on the market, and it shows you how diverse railway modeling can be. Prise wise it's slightly more expensive and that's due production in Europe it self. But of course there is also a second hand market, it's all about what you want and spend on it. And it doesn't matter what railway scene you want, you make it as expensive you want, depending how fast you want to build a collection up and your budget is. But what amazes me is how many people in the UK are into continental modeling, the other way around I still have to find the enthusiast here who shares the passion for UK railways as I do. Anyway I love the guides passion and as ever a nice video. Cheers, Danny
