Another enjoyable Sunday Morning video, Brilliant video. Great to see you bought a few bargains there Rick I think you should of bought the green Deltic 🤑
Off you go and looking. But you did find something right away!!!! Ok now you are finding some good stuff that I would like Rick as well lol!!! Ok I did find some that I do have lol. And that is the food cars.... ? Not too sure how you would say that lol... Nice Layout and a nice blue runner too!!! And lots nicer :)!!!! So much to see it does make me want to start over lol. Now back to shopping :). The last one that you did show did you get it?. Cheers mate!!!!!
Hi Brad I bought two Pullman cars. We do see quite a bit of US models which is funny as isn't your layout mostly UK? Anyway glad you enjoyed our day out shopping 😂😂 All the best Rick
That GWR Autocoach in the Derby Research RTC livery was interesting to see. Scarlington is brilliant from the NOEL Group, seen that a few times myself but didn't see it with the roof off which was interesting to see, great video
Found out the other day that the Banana vans were never ever in yellow in real life! British Rail ordered too many type 1 and type 2 diesels and not enough type 3 or 4. That's why so many of the lower power were scrapped early. All done with taxpayers money of course! DP2, Lion and Falcon (class 53) all saw service on the Sheffield Victoria to Kings Cross Master Pullman trains. It had stopped by 1967.
Another great collection of dealers and stock, and a couple cool layouts. I am always curious as to what catches your eye and whay, if anything, you bought! Cheers!
Hi Anthony, anything Wrenn catches the eye otherwise it's the rarities. Good prices are always eye catching. Next vlog will include info on what we bought ( two Pullmans) Thanks for watching Rick
Thanks for the show tour. I enjoyed the lift-up station roof sequence. 48:01 - the Fleischmann E132 was one of their earliest electric locomotives models. The ones with olive roof colouring made prior to around 1960 can fetch £150 or more if boxed. The version shown here (#4369) was made about 1965 and the plunger between the wheels activates trackside accessories (signals, boom gates etc) by completing a separate circuit with common ground to the track. These models could operate from overhead catenary while a steam locomotive could operate from track power. 2 trains running on one track!!! The scale of Fleischmann in those days was 1:82 - halfway between HO and OO.
I had the Caledonian Rambler set when I started my return to model railways!! I started with a layout shaped like a sock, Sweaty Socks being a nickname for Scotsman!!
Looks like you were pretty rushed for this one, I guess you got there a bit late. I can't help myself when you are rummaging through those vendor stalls and often yell out "Buy it!" when you show stuff. Good on you guys.
No we got there pretty early but we got chatting to lots of people we hadn't seen for ages. It was also very busy which made filming a bit trickier. The video turned out ok considering but we did miss a few layouts and trade stands. Thanks for watching and all the best Rick
Ha ha Lilia had that green brake van in her hands at the end of our day wish we had bought it . We did get a really nice mainline class 03 shunter for £30 and it's mint original tissue still in box.
😂I've to start with a laugh here, you really surprised me in the video. Anyway that was a great show, very nice layouts and traders with very reasonable prices. Saw some very clever details on the layouts, things we tend to forget and what defiantly makes a layout very realistic. Like in part 28:12 in the bottom of the frame you'll see people trying to extinguish a berm fire. It's details like that, that are very realistic, specially back in the age of steam that was a always returning summer phenomenon, and all personal, on and next to the track had to report it immediately. And this rule is still active today, les then in the age of steam of course, but these fires can also be started by the friction of the breaks or even welding works done on sight. And as we all now it takes only a spark to start a wild fire. So for those who love fire trucks and drama on the layout that could be even be a main theme to represent. I had to report a few of them in my career. Again thanks Rick & Pauline, for the time and effort you make to bring us the as always very interesting videos… Cheers, Danny PS. if you buy a mystery bag at Sawyer's, does that make you a mystery shopper?🤣 That's such a great idea from them, and as Pauline sad you get much more value than you payed for, I just love it…
Hi Danny, great show wasn't it and it would have been even better if we got to see it all. Well we did but a couple of the layouts were half way dismantled! Mystery shopper indeed. 😂😂
Good to see Gordon there with you doing the closing message. He used to be around Preston Station when I used to drive the loco hauled & HST Virgin Cross Country trains to and from Birmingham, he liked us to blow the horn when departing and he always jumped out of his skin when we did.
Hello again Pauline and Rick! Another great show, with interesting layout and items for sale. I love the Swiss layout and the German electric loco at the end of the video. Could I just say that I felt Pauline was getting very friendly with some of the layout operators and sellers, calling them sweetie!😂😂😂. Keep the videos coming Harry
Hi Harry, a great show wasn't it. That's what we love about the community, everybody's a sweetie 😂😂. Your friend Bobby is in next Sunday's exhibition video (we filmed two shows last week) 🐕🐕 All the best Rick
