The Great Glen is a broad valley filled with lochs (lakes) that cuts a 100km path through northwest Scotland from Fort William to Inverness. The Great Glen Way is a 125km hiking trail high above. It's a bit rough for cycling, so you need to be an experienced mountain biker to tackle it. We're not, but we decided to tackle it anyway.
Most people walk (or cycle) the Great Glen Way from south to north so that the prevailing wind is behind them. We decided to tackle the wind head-on and cycle from north to south. This resulted in a lot of pushing our bikes up steep hills. But hey, it was fun, as you can see.
It took us three days, with overnight stops in Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus.
