I had a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Nothing beats sitting in silence on the cold grounds of a Ugandan rainforest, just watching a gorilla family as they go about their day, stripping leaves from branches, and observing you in return with their liquid brown eyes.
A gorilla trek in Uganda can last anywhere between 2-10 hours and involves hiking through dense vegetation and steep slopes. Mountain gorillas live in high elevation and because of this, you will need plenty of water and a good pair of hiking boots. Bwindi is truly a rainforest! At one point we had to crawl on all fours because it was so slippery.

One of the best videos I have seen so far of this unique experience sharing gorilla behavior with your viewers. Well done!

What an experience! It's really weird but I way prefer Western Lowland gorillas to mountain gorillas. Strange preference.

I just looked him up, but I don't think he was with us that day. There were ~20 or so people, and I don't remember his face. Probably a different day.

I thought the same lol. This could be very well the same gorilla family that was seen in his video.

Really cool video with good information about the background history of the gorilla trekking. I missed that part in many of these videos. Nice job 😊

What a really amazing & informative vlog & what a great guide you have there!❤.I will be on the Serengeti in Tanzania in 10 weeks and my next trip after that is gorilla trekking in Rwanda.Your vlog has now presented a real conundrum for me in that now I'm seriously considering changing my itinerary so that I gorilla trek from the Ugandan side.A real debate going on in my head right now.

We are going in February. What clothing do you recommend? Is it hot and humid?
@marigoldsofoctober
@marigoldsofoctober Год назад
Congrats! You picked a good month. I heard February is relatively dry, so probably hot but not too humid. You definitely need to cover up though. There are alot of insects and flies. I just wore regular workout clothes (long sleeves, long pants) and was fine. Definitely wear long socks and a hood pair of hiking shoes! Its very slippery.

Thanks for the video. It’s great. Did you organise this trip yourself? Where did you stay?
@56africatours
@56africatours 2 месяца назад
It's possible to organize a gorilla trekking trip yourself where by you can book hotels on your own and then contact a tour operator to purchase a gorilla permit on your behalf. However most guests visiting Uganda for gorilla trekking prefer to have the tour operator arrange and organize the entire trip that is book accommodation, provide car,fuel, and driver guide as well as purchase the gorilla permits.

great work but the statement about gorillas attacking absolutely when they feel threatened and throw the carcasses to the wayside is highly inflammatory and misrepresents them.....there is not a single case i am aware of where a gorilla attacked a human because "they feel threatened"......in fact the only 2 known attacks occurred AFTER the humans had stolen a baby and were trying to escape.....in reality if what you claim were true these type of treks would be impossible because there would be NO WAY to assure such interactions would not create the situations you claim would lead to attacks...these treks are only impossible because gorillas are predictable regarding their behavior and have shown themselves to be non-aggressive and non-threatening unless clearly provoked beyond any reasonable degree...A HUGE difference between "feeling threatened"....and being threatened....
