As an expert on mountain lions I saw it was female and not quite full grown. Probably recently out of mom's territory. I am very happy it wasn't killed but it makes me a bit angry that the media always has to exaggerate the situation and this woman didn't help.. everytime some story about mountain lions comes on everybody has to hit the panic button. 🙄 As a qualified feline communicator behaviorist this cat was scared, and wanted to just hide and go sleep. Looking into this cats eyes you can feel it's curiously innocent nature. After all, they are lovers and not fighters. Up to 60 times in an hour 😯 Holds 2 world records and when people ask me what would I do if I ever met a mountain lion I always say introduce myself. What this situation lacked was someone like me.
@@Capszuleh 100% correct. That particular amino acid gets people sleeping. When it comes to milk it has to be warm milk in particular compared to when it is cold.
RIP poor turkey but very glad the mountain lion wasn't harmed nor the people; hopefully they'll build better protection for their birds; wish every outcome was this good; beautiful cat.
A small child going to check on the turkey would have been dessert. How you people manage to play down such things is beyond me. With starry eyes, defending predators.
This ladie's response was so awesome! While i am sure she was scared & upset, she handled the issue so well. Thanks to the folks that remove the cougar without killing it.
Everyone but the turkey lots of people are plant based, but big cats are obligate meat eaters humans do best on plant based diets based on 1000's of studies! Eating beans, lentils ect.. greatly reduces cancer/heart disease ect. 10 servings of fruits/vegs a day is the new recommendation.
it's pointless. I lost 2 chickens to a huge golden eagle. Carried the whole bird back to its nest to eat. What are you going to do? Got outsmarted by an eagle. I'd eat them too if I was an eagle and saw some chickens being contained for my dinner. edit - I put up bird netting and that stopped it. Now they only free range when I'm home
@@MrJuvefrank That this specific animal would end a person’s life is highly unlikely. A human being killed by a mountain lion is an extremely rare occurrence.
@@MrJuvefrankHuman aren't that easy to be killed. Human has brain, weapons and community. Why are you guys always afraid about those little creatures? There is nothing more terrifying than human.
Poor kitty. Lucky it was a "nice" wild kitty. Kitty got an early Thanksgiving dinner. ❤ Thankfully everyone was safe except a couple of turkeys. Kitty cooperated really well for a healthy cougar. What a beautiful big cat.
So beautiful! I hope that they realize how lucky they were to see such a beautiful, peaceful animal close up! She wasn't so peaceful to the Turkey, though!
I feel sorry for the turkeys. That is a big cougar, and I wonder if it was starving for to risk coming onto property where humans are. I hope that people will build stronger, safer enclosures for their birds and small animals to avoid the predators. 🤷
About 12 years ago Christmas morning, as I was going to let my chickens out, I found them all dead, killed by a bobcat who managed to squeeze himself through a gap in the roof.He dug his way out and escaped.
Leave the mountain lions alone. Sadly, due to human pollution, our rivers, lakes and valleys have no fish, fruits and berries left for the Wildlife to eat. Less pollution, and more wildlife friendly environment!
Sedation is risky for cats, especially big cats. Vets and wildlife experts avoid sedation if at all possible. Why would the cat want to leave, more turkeys where the first one came from. It’s a smorgasbord.
What a stunning cat! So glad he was able to be safely relocated! Can't blame him for being enticed by that poultry yard! I wish a Mtn. Lion would eat my neighbors yappy Yorkie & Chihuahua! lol
@@MrJuvefrankBased on all the comments you’ve made under this video I think you need to spend more time with your therapist about your irrational fear of cats.
This lady’s reaction is great. The cat was probably just as scared and it’s a happy ending … although I wonder if he could find his way back to the Turkey Shack 🥴
I wonder if at some time this cougar was domesticated. Seems like as soon as they open the door he would have run out the door instead of hiding its face.
This isn’t lighthearted to me. California is producing way too may Puma & Bear encounters in the past few weeks. I have always said: If I can’t take a nap in my backyard safely and without worry, then that’s not a place I can live.
