The CY-5 is a perfect splash cymbal pad. It is usually mounted at a standard CY-5 HI hat mount. This mount will prevent the pad from spinning but does not provide a normal cymbal movement.
The alternate is a regular boom cymbal arm attached to a Roland Clamp. In combination with a CYM-10 Rotation Stopper set. The most important part of the set is the actual stopper piece. The intake of the CY-5 is made for both stoppers.
It is better to use a washer to lift the rotation stopper up. You will need a different flat washer including felt if the boom arm has an 8mm winding.
The pad cannot spin and the moving dynamic is a lot better than before.
