Mounting A Rifle Scope - Demonstrated On A Winchester Model 70 Pre-64

In this video we mount a Bushnell Engage 3-9x40 Riflescope on a 1953 Winchester Model 70 (Pre-64) using Weaver Base #46 and #47 and Weaver Lever Lok 1 inch High Rings. We also show how the Lever Lok rings can be used to quickly mount and unmount the scope for traveling or in order to use the iron sights. We use a stack of pennies to help gauge what ring height is required.

Great video, thank you. I'm doing the same bases on a post 64 .270. I think I got the wrong height rings but I'll just exchange them. I got a 50mm Vortex but I think it's gonna be too large

Thanks! The one is the video is Bushnell ENGAGE 3-9X40. If you have a 50mm the X-high or See-thru will work. Check the video again at the 4 minute mark and you will see what I am talking about. Good luck.

Think picatinny rails are good for the Model 70? Harder to load?

Hi it depends are you talking about short rails that will be two separate pieces one in the front and one in the back or one rail straight across the top? If the latter then yes I think it will create loading issues.
