We have been using methods like this for years, most of the times I used something like this was for sheds, we use several kinds that pivot and rotate..you can buy mannequin specific for this method using bolts…I still prefer using skull plate method over bolts…this is the best way for using sheds in a room or garage for hanging things like hunting gear or guns..

We do something similar with Euros that have antlers in velvet (typically axis deer) that have been through a freeze dryer

great video! Im using small deer antlers that are only about 1" width at base. Would a 1/4" screw insert be too large in diameter? That leaves me with about 1/4" on each side of the drill hole. I'm afraid that it would make the base of antler too brittle? Is there anything smaller in diameter than 1/4"? Maybe 3/16? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you
