And with my pinkie and thumb I lift my mouse ever so slightly like not even a millimeter so that friction cant slow me down when I'm tracking. One very important thing is to always re-center to your original resting position so that when you aim at a foe you can track properly without running out of reach. This is a very needed practice to get as fast as you can possibly get it.

serah maia but then you loose the consistency of having a low sens
@serantos
@serantos 4 года назад
@@isaac.e desagree, u just need time to adapt. Look Noted/n9ted/fpsnoted of C9, ex-R6 pro and now Apex pro player. His sens is insanely high (8-10cm/360°) and he is insanely consistent. I don't know why this idea that low sense has more accuracy than high sense has been established. Increasing the sense gradually is very easy to master the high sense, and in fact is more consistent, because less fatigue due to having to move less hand. And you have a fixed base that stabilizes your aim, the wrist
@serantos
@serantos 4 года назад
@@isaac.e I think this idea of less consistency comes from using high sense with the wrong posture. Basing mouse movement on arm / forearm. High sens is pure wrist aim and usually fingertip style

Pretty sure shroud uses a relaxed claw? Right? Back when he played CS he arched his fingers but he doesn’t have them as raised anymore probably due to playing games with hold to ads as it’s easier to aim that way. Although from his mouse cam you can see him pull his mouse down with a relaxed claw (often when controlling recoil) which I don’t understand how he does that because that would mean he’s using a more fingertip style grip since he would have less of his palm rested towards the back of the mouse. If anyone has their own thoughts leave them below. Great video btw, very well made and explained! Subbed!

You forgot to mention click timing. When you arch your fingers you can press with your force + weight which allows for better click timing and responsiveness. When using palm you are only using your finger*tip's* muscle to press the button which has almost 0 weight to press the button and use none of the rest of your fingers. He also forgot to mention hybrid which is self-explanatory and what I use, a mix of palm + claw (arched fingers).

I started out finger style, but since i was new and sucked at everything mechanics wise, i switched to palm because i was initially more consistent with it. Ive tried claw before, but i didnt get that the whole point is to flick with the wrist, and then detach to track. Whenever i tried claw id use it the same as palm. Didnt know you could combine the god aim with flicking. Bouta try this in a minute. This helped a lot

@atziluth5198
@atziluth5198 4 года назад
In my experience, palm grip is the best for tracking. Like literally insane. Claw grip would be better for micro flicks. Im not gonna even talk about finger tip grip... But with palm grip, you don't rest your whole hand on the mouse. You grip it with your thumb and pinky finger. This style fits a low sensitivity the best, as you would pivot from your elbow instead of your wrist giving you more control and less variables to manage when tracking and flicking. Palm grip minimizes the errors in aiming by keeping the wrist and fingers straight, unlike claw and fingertip grip 5:09, where the changes in the fingers' positioning introduce another layer of motion you have to control. For the scores, I would just change the "pressure" and "tracking" to a check. But you are right about verticality... When aiming consistently, it's important to have an anchor, which in this case would be the elbow. When dealing with verticality, you have to lift the elbow and remove the anchor to move up and down which can cause some inconsistencies in your aim. The anchor then becomes the shoulder, which brings proper posture into play. You can, however, practice and get better. In time (and with proper posture), you can track vertically with no problem, but flicking will still be slower due to moving your whole arm. Hmm... Yeah it seems obvious that you play with a high sensitivity. You put "God-like tracking" and "Pin point accuracy" on fingertip. I'd suggest watching Ron Rambo Kim's video on mouse sensitivities and precision, along with the mechanics of aiming. This will provide a better understanding of the importance of precision, consistency, sensitivities, and how the different grips can add to or take away from the sensitivity. For example, you get the most out of fingertip grip from playing with a high sensitivity and pivoting from your wrist. Fingertip grip provides insanely fast flick shots but at the cost of precision. With a high sensitivity, the dot on the mousepad becomes much smaller and harder to hit. On the other hand, palm grip benefits more from a low sensitivity and using your forearm or elbow and the pivot point. It allows you to minimize variables in the aiming mechanics giving you an easily repeatable method of aiming. Tracking becomes much easier to control and flickshots are more precise. Although a low sensitivity causes the target area on the mousepad to be bigger and easier to hit, the flickshot speeds are much slower. Claw grip can utilize the middle ground of both a high sensitivity and low sensitivity. With practice, you can improve upon the weaknesses of each style, but you will need to improve on different areas. When palm gripping, your precision will come easily, but your speed will suffer. So... you work on your speed. When fingertip gripping, speed comes natural, but your precision will be horrible. So... you work on precision. Claw gripping can utilize both the finger tip and palm grip at the middle ground, where you will need to work on both precision and speed. It also introduces more variables you have to be aware of and control when aiming. It takes the best of both sides and mashes them with the worst of both sides. But if you master the worst of both, you will be rewarded with the best of both and have the ability to transcend all styles of games.
@reaperofinsanity3370
@reaperofinsanity3370 4 года назад
what about fingertip on low sensitivity
@atziluth5198
@atziluth5198 4 года назад
@@reaperofinsanity3370 you can do that, but you wont be able to turn lol. It would be great for micro adjustments but you will need to move your arm to preaim before the micro adjustments. Your tracking and flicking will be super precise because the sens is super low, but it only covers a small area on your screen. When fingertip aiming, your anchor is your wrist. You would have to continuously pick up and drop your anchor to aim which isnt feasible. An "anchor" is something that stays the same no matter what. Its your reference point for aiming

Fingertip gripping does not mean that your wrist have to be locked to one spot. Fingertip grip users flick with the arm, but they do the final adjustments with the wrist and fingers. Try to use the side buttons while moving the mouse with the clawgrip, you will immediately see why the fingertip grip is the best.

This is probably the first video that I've ever run across thats shown off the pros and cons of these different grip styles in ways that related to my own experiences. Palm grips feel like they're slower to press M1/M2 and palm weighs the mouse down to me. My Fingertip/Claw grip has difficulty accessing side buttons without aim deflection or losing mouse control (because the thumb often has to lift off the secure grip to press the button.) Is also difficult to hit the mouse wheel if you're pressing M1 near the top of the arch due to how far forward/down modern mice curve the main buttons. Can finally share a video with someone about the complaints i have with modern mice!

I use a variation of relaxed claw where rather than gripping the right side of the mouse with my ring and pinky finger, I sort of rest my pinky finger and control the front right corner of my mouse with my ring finger and rest the side of my hand on my mouse pad. its really odd and doesn't work well if you use hold right mouse to aim since it requires you to change grip but I play with toggle and it works for me because it's just so relaxed but I get a lot of wrist and finger control
