Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters singing 'Move On' from 'Sunday in the Park with George'; from Sondheim's 80th Birthday Concert with the New York Philharmonic at Avery Fisher Hall / Lincoln Center. 0 likes, 0 dislikes
You can tell Mandy Patinkin just made it so personal, singing to his friend, "...and your smile and the color of your hair and the way you catch the light...," and they were both moved.
They sound as good - or better - as they did in 1984. I know Mandy Patinkin has a Tony - for his Che in "Evita," and I think it was deserved - but he should have at least one more, and for his two Georges. It's a performance - and a show - that I did not fully appreciate at the time, but I cherish it now.
