I can't believe I didn't recognise Charlize Theron, what an incredible actress!!! and I'm not making any excuses for Aileen, as she made her own choices, but I can't help feeling she was let down in so many ways.

I love this film. Eileen had a very sad life. She’s the only serial killer that actually breaks my heart, she never stood a chance from birth.

Finally! Someone who reacted to this film! I've waited so long for a reaction so thank you for that, and thank you for actually watching it, some just talk all the way through, I know it's a reaction but talking so much just means they miss so much. This film is very true to what happened, I mean we'll never know what happened when she was alone with the John's but it's pretty true to real events. You really should take a look at Aileen: life and death of a serial killer

It's interesting watching this and the Nick Bloomsfield documentary on her. Neither are excusing her criminal actions, but where MONSTER is more about showing how a human being can become a "monster", the documentary pretty much shows Wuroaos (screwed up the spelling I know) was truly mad by the end of her life, which brings on another topic of the thin line between "reason of insanity" and "full comprehension of their actions" that often "saves" or "condemns" a criminal. Both are fascinating watches, but sadly, too many critics focused on Theron changing her physical "beauty" and not focusing on how WELL she emulated this real life woman (watching both films back to back, it's no wonder Theron won the Oscar; she nearly caught the whole person in her performance).

Her life was terrible I do feel bad for her and I don’t blame her for killing that first guy but the ones after is where I can’t get past what she did. I just wish anyone who is going through anything similar gets help from people. You can tell that if Aileen knew you she would be so nice and funny to be around.

If the first killing is how it really happened, he deserved that. My God that was awful to watch. That was the straw that made her snap. She believed all men were gonna hurt her even though they clearly were not. Charlize was phenomenal in this film.

Thank you, you are the first one to do a reaction to this movie The actress who depicted Eileen is amazing The real story is just as sad if not worse And i noticed that people treat this woman as a demon and pratically idolize other serial killers that are men, which is incredibly weird and hypocritical.. idk of it has anything to do with her being gay or if its because she's a woman.. cause I don't see other women serial killers who aren't gay being seen and looked at with such disgust and judgement the same way eileen is looked at I'm sorry but after someone is r**p*d and abused by the opposite gender so that times, I can't blame that someone for hating that gender.. it's perfectly understandable. Let's not forget the men she killed were disgusting men who killed, abused women, r***ed and hit hookers, etc.. I feel 0 empathy for the actual monsters, they had it coming. In the end they managed to corrupt a woman..since childhood, into another monster The way I see it is, after her first kill in self defense, it was the last straw all the trauma went to a boiling point. She also started feeling what real affection felt like from her girlfriend at the time so she started thinking it was alot easier to kill and rob the next men than to humiliate herself again for those p🐷gs. After the first kill in self defense which was justifiable and understandable, her next kills can be argued to not be justifiable. For me it's still justifiable because if the types of men that became her "victims"

I totally agree. I just watched an interview where they tried to make her look crazy. I went from feeling sad for her to feeling complete anger towards the people who were pulling this narrative. She seemed very down-to-earth and self-aware to me. I do wonder if she would have been sentenced the same if she looked like a Barbie doll. 😥

You know the gun she uses in the movie is the real gun she used in real life, even though it looks like a huge hand gun thats powerful, it wasnt, it was only a 22 calibre which is a tiny bullet, generally used for hunting small animals or target practice, where with a 45 calibre would only take 1 or 2 bullets to kill a man quickly, she had to shoot them 5 or 6 times sometimes more to bleed them out and kill them with such a under powered weapon, brutal way to go :(

Quite the opposite of a feel-good movie. She ventured way beyond the point of redemption when executing a man who just wanted to help her. The typical rationale being that responsibility is diminished for those who suffered evil themselves, but my perspective is that not all these people turn out bad, And this is the true test of life and one's character. If you are truly a good person, you overcome it, Aileen did not.
