I loved the film just as much as it's soundtrack. Brilliantly done!

T2 is just as good as Trainspotting. Incredibly well made

I was really surprised how much I liked T2. And the ending is pretty much perfect.

Both T1 and T2 had novels to work off of, so they both work in the ways they need to. I saw T2 in theaters during a limited release in my state and the version I saw had some beautiful visuals that were edited out of the cable and physical release versions.

My favourite film in recent years. It was such a profound experience that I return to it to every so often.

9:05 I LOVE how everything in his way tells "could arrive too late". The door almost closes, the elevator is not working, he doesnt know which door he should try etc. But then, he's here at the right place and right time. Saves his friend. After "killing" Tommy with the tape in the first one. Karma vs Karma.

T2 is way better than it has any right to be.

I thought of one thematic part I'd like mention: When Renton first returns home, the first record he attempts to play is the original version of Iggy Pop's Lust for Life as heard in the first film. The version he puts on at the end is the Prodigy remix done for this film. Something old and familiar made new again, which is what I think he's resolved to do by the end of this film as opposed to running away.

Amy does an awesome job of showing enough of the movie, that you can follow along even if youve nvr seen it. ❤

A thing you may not have caught is the gangster Begbie and his son meet at the warehouse, the bald guy, is Mikey Forrester, the idiot drug dealer who gave Renton the suppositories in the first film as well as the two kilos of cocaine to sell off. Turns out he was smarter than he looked. He is played by Irvine Welsh, the author of the Trainspotting novel.

Yep, I totally missed that. Ha! It must be great to play a part from your own novel!

Great commentary, wonderful reaction 😎 I guess T2 is equal parts "You can't relive the past" as well as "Everything comes full circle". It's just so fitting. I love that T2 never tries to be "Trainspotting", it doesn't try to capture lightening in a bottle again... because that's impossible. T2 just shows, in a very matter-of-fact way, how the lives of the Trainspotting crew played out. Also, I'm very happy for Spud, and Mark & Sick Boy did alright too :) Looking forward to your future videos! EDIT: "Drugstore Cowboy" is a sort of USA version of Trainspotting, and it was filmed in NW Portland, my old stomping ground! William S Boroughs plays a part in the film, which is brilliant. And then there's "Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas" another wild ride, though it's far more of an 'endorsement' (and perhaps embellishment) of that lifestyle... Terry Gilliam (of Monty Python) directed Fear & Loathing, and it's quite funny too! 🌴🏜️🦇

Thanks so much for the suggestions and the support! I couldn't have said it better myself, he did such a good job at playing on the past without depending on it, this had a whole different feel.

"Endorsement" was IMO the opposite of Thompson's writing, and I think Giilliam knew and portrayed that well. Like Welsh, there's the allure, the rush, but shite-all follows.

Best movie soundtrack since pulp fiction and one of the best sequel's I think you should do a Danny Boyle movie review marathon?.

Glad you picked it up. You didn't have to wait as long as those of us who saw the original movie way back when, but maybe you get the sense that this was rather like seeing old friends again. The main reason this took so long to happen was that Ewan McGregor and director Danny Boyle had a falling out over the 2000 film, The Beach. Boyle and McGregor had been working on the movie for some time and Ewan was supposed to play the lead, but when the studio said they wanted Leonardo DiCaprio, Boyle apparently betrayed his years long friendship with McGregor, went behind his back, and cast Leo as the studio wished. So McGregor hated Boyle for nearly 15 years before they kissed and made up enough to put this movie together.

That would of been a great role for him.

I find it amazing how he uses nostalgia in the storyline while somehow making the viewer reminisce about their own, or at least that was the feeling I got. I've been listening to Wolf Alice - Silk on repeat for days now, and it still gives me the same feeling as when I was watching. I'm so glad McGregor and Boyle made up because this was absolutely magic!

@@amylorraine3776 Oh, yeah. I'm not typically a nostalgic person, but you watching both of these brought me back. I was 14-15 when I saw the first one and you kind of had to be there to feel the vibe of this crazy movie spread around. In a geeky way, it was like if you heard about it and saw it, then you were cool, you had taste, etc. I'm in the states, but I recently read an article written by this woman who was a teen in Russia when she saw it and it was the same story there. Like I said, it spread around and had this effect on a generation. Anyhoo, thanks for bringing me back. I wish you and your channel the best.

@@vincentdawn9689was around the same age in Detroit when it came out and can totally confirm this! This film (along with Burroughs and punk rock) were the too-cool-for-school starter pack 😂 I also wish Amy’s channel the best! What a great reaction to this film-which, for my money, was as good as the original, which is seldom the case with sequels.
